I went in for the Semi colon tattoo and also for the friday the 13th flash sale. First they did not tell me tattoo artist was an apprentice for my semi colon tattoo. when I talked to a different artist I learned that the artist (her names Karen) went way to deep. For my Friday the 13th tattoo, I never signed a waiver! I got three tattoos one of them being a knife with a reflection of a women crying into it.The eyes are completely messed up and I have to get it fixed. I am surprised I am the first to review this place! This place is top-notch! I set up an appointment for Todd (Toadman) Shipley a few months in advance. I've seen his work and I trusted that he would draw me a beautiful memorial piece for my mother who passed away in 2012 from cancer. I told him what I wanted and let his artistic talents take the way from there. He drew me a beautiful custom piece and I was blown away by all the details in the design, and I was sold by the first sketch. So with that done I made my trip from Portland, Oregon. Yes, Portland. You'd think that any tattoo artist should suffice in Portland, but Todd is not just any artist. So I got my rental car, and made my 10+ hour drive. The day of, he sat me down and went over all design details and made all proper adjustments. From there we started our 11.5 hour session that ended up with me having a masterpiece on my arm. Through the process all the other artists would stop by and say hi and chat with us. They are all so friendly. We knew a few details of the piece would be decided on at the moment it needed to be done. Once we reached that point there was collaboration with all of the artists, and it made me feel so priviledged. I really do feel lucky to have met them all! This is a great crew, and they go above and beyond to make sure they are working in a clean and sterile environment and that their clients are happy. They also have great merchendising they sell on site, and are connected to a wonderful vape shop just below. Thank you Todd and the Gypsy Tattoo Company for such a wonderful experience. I had a decent sized back piece inked by Mr. Toad, and over half a year later it still looks brand new. The shop is clean and professional, the staff is great, it's a great place. If you need a tattoo (it's a necessity, right?!) then Gypsy is where I would suggest you go. I live in IF and gladly make the trip to have work done there. In fact, I'm going again next week. Got in to do a simple piercing on my nose and ears. Joel was on call on a Saturday and made it in to meet me in 10 minutes. He was professional and great with explaining what he was doing and the aftercare. Definitely going back to finish more piercings! Great experience! read more
