I recently brought my 16 month old grandson here during an open morning session and he had an absolute blast. It is true that you have to keep an eye on your little one as there are bigger kids running around but the place is expansive enough that it wasn't hard to move towards a less occupied area. There were SO many fun things for him to do that we didn't get to do them all. He loved everything, and your kid will never get bored here. The place was very clean and I was impressed with the quality of the equipment, play spaces and upkeep of the building in general. I felt the price was reasonable and the staff was very kind and informative. My grandson lives in Kittitas so we won't be back as often as we would like but I will make it a point to drive here when we can because he absolutely loved every minute. We came here on a Sunday afternoon with Our kids, ages 4, 2 & 9months. This was the Perfect way to let them let loose & burn off energy without a heavy cost. My 2 year old kept up with the equipment no problem, but like another review said--use your parental discretion because most older kids just aren't aware/cautious with toddlers. The play equipment is in the back, you'll pass the gymnastics area on the way back there. There's a snack bar with chips, candy, soda & water. The restrooms were well kept. The place could use some updating, but my kids had a blast & the staff was friendly which equals happy parents. read more

Ever since moving to Yacama we've been on the lookout for good kid friendly places that remain accessible and appropriate during the winter time. It's castle is absolutely that! Or something like six dollars per kid or six dollars for two kids on Wednesdays, you can go burn off some energy in what is effectively a gigantic McDonald's Playland. There's plenty of seating for adults, a snack bar with carbs, sugar filled options and plenty of beverages available. The place is nice we kept up and while it's not the nicest Playland you've probably ever seen, it certainly won't be the worst. Gymnastics classes here have become another favorite among little dudes and gals in the area. Lots of different age options and classes most evenings during the week make the opportunity for your kiddo to get outside and run around with or without mom and dad a real option. Our two-year-old wanted to do a gymnastics class and at first our four-year-old said he was not interested, however as soon as he saw his younger brother running around for 45 minutes once a week, he changed his tune. The teachers have been great with the kids, and a couple of them have even started babysitting for folks in the class! This is a great place for the kids to run around and burn off a little bit of energy a few times per week. The Playland area is not overly expensive and gives the kiddos an opportunity to get out and move around, Especially in the winter time. Well worth checking out! read more

Having grown up in Yakima, I'd been to Gymnastics Plus several times over the years. Walking into the builidng, it's likes a time capsule - just like I remember it! Lots of trampolines, padding, ball pits, and the foam pit! They have gymnastic classes several nights a week and will run you around $30/month for a weekly class (for the tiny tots class). The staff is friendly and has been generally helpful when we've had questions. I do have to agree that it would be nice to see a little bit of updating here, but I don't expect a world class setup for $30/month. My wife also takes my daughter to kids castle on a regular basis. For kids under 2, it's $3 for an unlimited amount of time. For kids above 2, it's around $6 for an hour, or $10 for unlimited. The setup is nice, but definitely favors bigger kids. If you are taking your 2 year old, consider taking them at an 'off-time' to avoid having a to many bigger kids. It's a parent monitoring situation, so monitoring other people's kids can be tough.....Still, the price is a good deal for what it is! I'm a fan! read more

Kid's Castle is great for the kids to have fun, but don't waste your money booking a birthday party here. $110 for just an hour and half? What kid's birthday party only lasts an hour and a half? Not only that, but actually being forced to leave by the staff is unbelievable. I know I'll never come back here. What a big waste of time and money. One of the members of staff told us we could move our party from the party room to the Kid's Castle play area, and we were fine with that. But once we got everything moved over and got all settled, she came back and said, "Sorry, you actually can't have the party in here." So we were basically forced to leave. My poor nephew hadn't finished opening his gifts yet, and we never even started cutting the cake. What 9 year old wants a party like that? Seeing the look on my nephew's face and hearing him say, "But, we didn't even cut the cake yet." just broke my heart. If you honestly expect a kid's birthday party to last only an hour and half, you either don't have any experience with birthday parties, or you're delusional. DO NOT BOOK A BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE!!!!! Customer service is unbelievably HORRIBLE!!!!! If I could give this facility zero stars I would. My 4 year old decided to spend her birthday money here. And the owner won't refund a 4 year old her money back!!! Reasons for asking for a refund 1. The party room was too small. we were not told the large room was unavailable even though I asked over the phone when booking the party. 2. The party hostess did not have the room ready on time. Was on her phone the room was a mess she still needed to clean up. Thus our party started late 3. The hosts did not once ask if I needed help with anything! 4. The hosts was very very very rude when asked to do her job she said it wasn't her job to host the party. 5. The employees were not watching the kids they were on their phones while some kids were bullying others and fighting right in front of them! We asked for a manager to speak to to solve this issue and were told they did not have a manager they gave me the number to the owner (which I called the next day) and we were told the next day we'd get a refund back. Now she's trying to say that she never agreed to that and that she would only refund $54 we spent over $200. I cannot believe she would leave her business unattended by a manager with only teenagers as employees watching over our children! It's ridiculous! They completely ruined my 4 year olds party and are refusing to refund her money back! read more

I really hate to write a negative review for a local business but safety calls for it. I am from out of town and needed an activity for my 2 year old son. He is very active so the Kids Castle sounded perfect. We went on a Wed. -it was crazy as it is two for one day. We decided to come back at another time so my toddler felt more comfortable and wasn't runover by big kids. Returned Friday at 4 and it was dead as I hoped. Adults can join littles in the play structure which I was glad as it is dark, huge and could be scary for small children. It is truly great for elementary age kids. I crawled after my boy thru tunnels and ball pits. At one point he got way ahead of me so I stopped scraping my knees and decided to watch from the outside of the structure. There is no staff watching the children it is up to parents to monitor. Thank goodness I was as he was up ten feet in a tunnel and then he was outside of the structure in clear distress. I panicked as I couldn't figure out how he got on the outside. ?!? I climbed to him and was very concerned. He was crying and clearly stuck on the outside. Heart racing and visions of needing the fire dept to rescue him raced thru my head. Nobody was offering any help or noticed us! I thought about running to get help but didnt want to leave him as he could fall from a 10 foot height. Instead, I thought like my son, and crawled thru the nearest tunnel. I noticed there was a hole in the flooring big enough for a 2 year olds head to fit. I directed my scared child back thru. I let the staff working the counter know of the hole and the situation. She didnt seem very concerned. We left. I am sure it has been there and will remain there. Bottom line.... It is super dusty, dark, duct taped to fix broken mats, and holes in the netting. Balls in the ball pit are crushed up. I doubt it is ever cleaned so stay away in flu season. It is unsafe for children- especially under 5. Watch that they aren't putting mat stuffing in their mouth. Watch your kids closely as it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I see why it is a beloved place by the locals. As a kid, I would think it is awesome. But it has become rundown and scary. read more

I started reading the 1 star reviews and can't for the life of me figure out how people can be so ridiculous. Complaining about cost, birthday party pricing, and the fact that you actually have to watch your kids instead of being lazy and relying on someone else to do it for you. Come on people. This place is way cool to bring your kids. I have a 2 and 4 year old, and I paid $17 for both to have unlimited time in the kids castle area. And on the weekends, after 12, they open up the gymnastics area to all children. They have snacks too for sale, and drinks. But I usually just bring our own snacks and drinks. read more

A simple place but perfect for the kids as we were passing through from out of town. Bring socks for the kids to wear inside. Was nice and cool on a warm summer day and my kids from 2-7 had a great time. I'd be very careful when going to this place. They claim to be family friendly, but they are not. If you are a breastfeeding mother, who prefers to breastfeed uncovered, they'll insist you go to another room and tell you about covers their family members have, implying you should invest in one too. Then when they get heat for not being 100% family friendly, they'll just deny ever doing anything wrong. Discriminating a breastfeeding mother is against the law, and whether they want to see it or admit it, they were wrong. If people are uncomfortable seeing a mother nurse her child, then offer those people a room and some covers and insist they take the offer. read more

Love this place! I came into town looking for something for my toddler to do while we here on business and stumbled upon this place. I am so glad that we did because my son had a great time running around and playing with the other children. It was about 3 for an hour and 6 dollars for all day. The price is very cheap. We've taken our children here for over three years and they love it. The one think I find discouraging is the constant Change in instructors however I understand with high school and college students things change. Swimming lessons were great and the instructors were super sweet and helpful. It is old and could use a facelift however it doesn't bother me. read more

We went to the Kids Castle here (located behind the gymnastics area). It is a playroom with a HUGE indoor climbing structure. Nearby are tables for adults. My son spent two hours climbing,crawling, sliding down slides and swimming in plastic balls with his new friend. The space is clean. Snacks are available. And the attendant minding the snack bar was ready to help us with anything. Socks are required, but the Kids Castle had socks for sale at a very reasonable price. We were visiting from out of town, and this was a great place to play for my 5 year old son! read more

READ AND BEWARE!!!! DO NOT GO TO KIDS CASTLE!!!!!! Kids Castle is a joke. I recently attended a party there. We showed up a few minutes early to set up, we were immediately confronted by staff to let us know that they would not help or give the kids wristbands until the appropriate time, even though we didn't ask for them. We were repeated told that the host was on lunch and wouldn't be with us until the attended time throughout our setting up, even though we already acknowledged that it was okay. And I don't know why they were so worried. The male host was rude. All he did was come by every ten to fifteen minutes to give us a countdown to when we had to leave. Don't get me wrong, the kids did have fun. But all the adults there felt out of place. We were in a room, away from staff and other guests, yet we were treated poorly. I don't know if it was racism or classism but the atmosphere and the minimal contact we had with staff was definitely uncalled for. Definitely not family friendly. Or friendly at all. read more

Awesome. I remember when this place was called Central Washington School of Gymnastics and located off of Fruitvale back in the 80's. That's how long the owner's have been around. When ever we come to Yakima to visit, we always bring our toddlers here. Not only is kids castle safe and fun, the open gym area they have on the weekends is totally safe. They barrier off the off limits area and I feel totally comfortable that my children will not get hurt here at all. I wish there was a Kids Castle where we lived. read more
