They are unorganized, I regret going against my better allowing them to continue to represent us. They gaslight you, advice I was given was not in anyone's best interest but their own. Communication was difficult. They did not keep us informed. On the rare occasion we did speak with someone it was obvious they were not taking things very seriously. He wasn't unusual to have our phone call returned several days to a week later if they were returned at all somewhat unanswered altogether. Fast forward 18 months later. We called the Myrtle Beach location to ask simple question pertaining to the down payment made for representation. We explained we needed the information and have been requested by our financial advisor overseeing a project for us. The gentle gentleman who answered the phone was weird. He continue to cut me off. His demeanor was jagged and harsh treating me as if not have time to answer the phone and I was keeping him from something more important. He was abrasive. I'm hoping the rest of the firm is good, but my experience with Sarah Whatley was awful…read more 1) Her paralegal was constantly asking me for the same items over and over and seemed confused on what was needed for the case. 2) They didn't follow my recommendation on when and how to serve my husband and that caused them to get multiple servers and I had to pay for numerous times of them trying to serve him at places that I told them would not be successful. Because of them refusing to vary from their typical practice (even though I told them we'd need to) we had to file for a continuance of our hearing. As soon as I talked to the processor directly, he was served the very next day. 3) Ms. Whatley argued with me telling me it was my fault he wasn't served and belittling me when I told her that they needed to think outside of the box (since he doesn't work standard hours) and she justified her actions saying that she's never had a problem in the past. 4) They never sent me one bill for 6 months so I knew how much of my retainer was being used. I only received it when asking for a full copy of my file and I specifically asked for it. 5) Right before I changed council due to so many issues, she told me that she needed more money (already paid $7,500 and we didn't even accomplish anything on the case--only serving when I took them out of the picture). 6) After obtaining new council, Sarah failed to file the proof of service with the court so we had to file another continuance because she failed yet again costing me more time and money. 7) She cannot think beyond the standard basic scenario and refuses to believe that maybe alternate steps need to be taken and that each case may be different. I would highly recommend not using her unless you want to deal with a lot of frustration.
