That process went smoothly, however recently we were contacted to correct the deed which had been originally filed with an error. The error was due to a simple mistake by a paralegal, but instead of apologizing for the clerical error they demanded that we resolve what was unquestionably their error. This entailed inconveniencing my 70-year old mother to take hours out of her day to have documents notarized and mailed from overseas. After this was done the to (again) fix their error law firm felt it adequate to cover only her actual expenses, down to the penny. No "thank you", no "sorry for the inconvenience" and certainly no "here's some compensation to recognize that when we make a mistake we take responsibility, help resolve it and make it right". I'm fully willing to forgive human error, but to refuse to assume accountability and fix things is well below what I look as a client and customer. A gesture of appreciation, even an email saying "sorry we messed up, thank you so much for helping us clean up the mess" would have been appropriate. Instead I had to actually follow up to confirm they'd received the documents and the matter was resolved. Really unimpressed, disappointed in fact.
