Absolutely disgraceful!!…read more Last week I purchased myself a burger meal and a kids meal for my 3 1\5 YO son. I got home to find they had forgotten to add my sons popper juice. I called Aaron Gellie who offered to deliver it after he closed the shop, however, trying to be fair I just told him to note that I am owed 1 juice for my son next time I visit. I walked in today, again with my 3 1/5YO son to enjoy a meal together as father and son, because my son loves the chips and I like the burgers. I mentioned I am owed a popper juice and so the friendly staff who served me got Aaron to sort this out. I mentioned about the owed popper juice and ordered a burger for myself, chips and a drink and another kids meal deal which is $8.90 and requested just to deduct they popper juice. Aaron said that he would take my order of around $25+ dollars and just give me another popper juice, I told him that my son won't drink two juices, so he said just take it home and put it in the fridge. I stalled for a second and told him my son has a 6 pack of these drinks at home already just deduct the juice of his meal. Aaron persisted he did not wish to do this and basically starred at me to accept just taking another drink home. Well hang on a minute? How GREEDY is this guy? Firstly, I already paid for the drink he owed me last time and now he wants me to buy my little son another kids meal and pay FULL PRICE for it and just give me the popper juice I already paid for? Is this guy serious? He wasn't doing me or my son any favors, seriously Aaron, if your store is that hard up that you can't even deduct $2 from the kids meal I ordered AGAIN, or better still, offer him a free replacement meal for forgetting to put his drink in our take away order in the first place then you should have just told me your store is struggling financially and I would have just forgotten about the drink you said you would replace, (AGAIN - Which I had already paid for anyway). I just raised my hands and said "Wow I'M out" and left with my son and went to Oporto instead. You should be ashamed of yourself Aaron, any other restaurant would have offered a replacement kids meal for FREE, but all I wanted was for you to drop the price of the drink I had already purchased and you couldn't even do that, instead you wanted me to buy another kids meal full price and take another drink that I already paid for. SHAME ON YOU, I won't be returning to your store ever again, which is sad because your staff are really nice and the food is very good, but as for you Aaron Gellie I guess you showed your true colours. BTW - Keep the drink, since your store is so hard up. (Posted elsewhere).
Kids chicken burger meal deal with drink. Great deal cheap too! Great value for money.

But the service is usually pretty lacking wherever you go, and this one is no different. This is in a little side alley off the Brunswick Street Mall, and there's not really any dedicated seating, which can make it difficult around lunch time, but it's in a good location. Of course, that means there's plenty of other places to eat, possibly better choices, but you always know what you're getting at Nandos. (So long as they get your order right)

I like their donated a coin to a local community thing. I appreciate that their burgers are grass-fed. Nicely decorated restaurant with clean bathrooms. It never seems too busy in this restaurant which for me is a plus, however some may think this is a negative. Booths along the wall, tables for groups and outdoor seating -all are comfortable seats. I like their fake grass and Grill'd outfits. I tried their sweet potato chips but they had lots of salt of them. I don't like them with salt. Just a heads up if you want to try them. Grill'd Rosalie serves up some of the most enormous burgers I've ever seen - inside Australia at…read moreleast. This is a health-burger chain store that promises to deliver fantastic, organic-tasting burgers at good prices and it does - they just forgot to mention how big the portions are. It's not a bad problem to have, really - much better than getting an unexpectedly tiny serving when a restaurant is aiming for 'pretentious'. Most recently I went to Grill'd with three friends. One was a vegetarian, and she was delighted by the vegetarian burgers on offer here. We all ordered different burgers, all with bizarre stylized names I cannot recall now nor mere seconds after placing the order. When they came out, the shapes of the buns and spilling lettuce made them all look like the same burger. But they all tasted quite different. The sauces on each burger are definitely catered towards the burger's theme, which is good to know if you want to avoid something spicy (e.g. stay away from anything with the word "Mexican" in it.). Lamb burgers are interesting, but generally I stick with beef. I stuck with beef this time and, accepting a taste of the lamb burger from my dutiful friend, I think the beef burgers are better here. The vibe of this restaurant is a cross between 1960s retro and Planet Hollywood. It's a little unashamedly chain-like in its brash colouring, but it's a cool colour scheme and the "Grill'd" sign is written in a delightful Happy Days-like font. The location is also ideal: you're above-ground as Grill'd is located within a larger complex, so you get a nice amount of wind coming down off Mt Cootha, or however wind moves. I'm not a meteorologist.

The pros? A Grill'd Mini Moo on a gluten-free bun with avocado and tasty cheese. Hold the tomato sauce and herbed mayo. The cons? I've had it so often now it's time for Grill'd Rosalie and I to take a break (I'll assure you it won't last long). True to the brand, the staff at Grill'd Rosalie are always jazzy, happy-go-lucky and full of hipster cred which gives a great atmosphere. I've been to a few other Grill'd locations and perhaps it's my local pride kicking in but they're never the same. Around Movember (November) the line is out the door but generally the burger delivery to belly ratio is minimal. Enjoy!

It has definitely become the go-to place to grab a good quality burger throughout Australia. Despite the large number of stores throughout Australia if definitely does not have the 'chain' vibe and each location tends to have its own personality. The Garden City shopping centre Grill'd certainly provides an enjoyable experience. The burgers are always top quality and the waiting times are low, even during busy periods such as weekend lunch. This particular location always seems to have a bevy of reading material for diners to peruse while they are waiting for and eating their burgers. My personal favourites are the 'Hot Mama' Moroccan flavoured burger and the much more traditional 'Summer Sunset' which comes with some of that sweet sweet pineapple. The range is very interesting and they seem to be constantly adding to the menu with new salads and steak sandwiches. Vegetarian options are also available for those inclined, and the home style thick cut chips with rosemary salt always go down a treat. Staff are always helpful and friendly. If anything a bit too friendly almost chasing you out of the store as you leave to make sure that they have said 'Have a great day'. If you have been living under a rock, or simply have passed by thinking that you do not want to pay upwards of $10 for a burger, trust me, it is definitely worth your while to give it a try, and you will likely become just as hooked as me.

I'm not sure if there's been a change across the chain since then, but my visit to Brisbane's Wintergarden Grill'd was a bit sub-par compared to what I remembered. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The service and atmosphere at this Grill'd are both perfectly fine, and they've got a good deal of real estate to work with. The burgers are made fresh to order, so you can expect to wait a good ten minutes as I did for my standard Grill'd Burger. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $12.00 AUD for a Grill'd Burger was a reasonable price point, and this burger was of good size. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Everything about my Grill'd Burger was just okay. For starters, while the patty had some good flavor to it it was far too small especially compared to the oversized bun. From there, the peripherals were unique enough to keep it interesting, but made the patty seem like a supporting act as opposed to the star of the show. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? The Wintergarden Grill'd dishes up good burgers, but I don't think great burgers. No Star.

Grill'd's (that's weird) look is novel, and varies between chains, but I especially like this one with it's extra-large fork "chandelier" and wooden interior decor (and went a little photo happy with my iPhone). Their decor isn't anything elaborate, but simple and novel. I like their overall presentation of both the place and the food, plus they give you an "emergency knife" for those who have hard time managing their burger... I had the Moroccan Lamb burger, which was better than one of their beef burgers that I had some time ago, and their fries were pretty good as usual. Boris had a beef burger, which looked pretty good, especially with the panini bread, rather than the traditional. Though the patties were still the "Australian burger patties" that come in "pattie-cutter" form and resemble meatloaf, the burger combinations of Grill'd's burgers still better than a lot of places that I've tried. Yee, I'm not sure that meal was exactly 'healthy' as they advertise it, but it did leave me full for quite a while after...
