The facilities are very basic, with the shop/chandlery seemingly randomly stocked, and the amenities (restrooms, shower) rather grim. The docks are in bad shape and quite rickety, mostly close inshore. That said, the staff have an outstanding reputation for doing the basics of keeping a boat in shape and a boat owner happy. I have heard two different stories of the staff doing rescue-tows and refusing even to be tipped for slip-owners. The boat yard is right next to the slips and the ramp (there is no winch, note) so if you have a small boat, want to go cheap, and convenient, this seems like a good option. The river location is between locks 7 and 8, more or less halfway between Freeman's Bridge and the Rexford Bridge.

We all packed our own drinks and completely forgot the most important part; the cups and ice. But no worries! Our guide had the boat fully equipped with ice cubes and cups and we were all able to enjoy a nice, fun and relaxing ride in the lake. We got full control of the bluetooth speakers and had a nice time meeting the other patrons and sharing music with each other. Overall, this was very comfortable and enjoyable for all of us. Additional notes: The bathroom was also very clean. The young man driving the boat gave us a nice, smooth ride despite slight choppiness in the water. Restrooms, food and drinks for purchase were located on the bottom deck. We sat on the upper deck. It was enclosed and warm inside. It was windy and too cold to sit outside that day. Jones V has sadly passed away on the evening of August 18, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He died doing something he truly enjoyed. Thomas graduated from South Glens Falls in 2006 and continued on to get an Associate's degree from ACC. After graduating from ACC, he worked at Trustco bank in South Glens Falls for a short time until he realized that he had to follow his dreams. Five years ago, he decided he wanted to open his own business and that is when Devocean Watersports was born. He managed to put together a great team of employees that helped him with boat charters and jet-ski tours on Lake George, out of the hotel "Twin Birches." Thomas loved his business and put everything he had into it. His smile and enthusiasm was infectious to everyone he met along his journey in life. He really enjoyed teaching people how to do things that was out of their norm. Thomas also made many friends down in Marathon within the keys were he went every winter, enjoying life to the fullest. He was predeceased by his father Thomas P. Jones IV. I believe she mentioned that we were her first public tour, and she has been chartering the private tours for three years. She was amazing!!! Lots of energy. We took the small Pontoon boat due to a private party on the larger boat, but I think we all preferred the small boat anyway. It was two couples total for this trip, and it was really nice and intimate. Thank you so much for the experience.
