As I mentioned In a previous text, I have had my tax returns done by MyCPA for over ten years…read moreVivian has done my tax returns for the last two years is a professional. The value or cost is fair. My only complaint is the use of technology. Even though I now have a newer laptop, the ability to access documents is still an issue due to having to obtain passcodes, passwords, etc. I feel as if i require multiple screens. So, when I get a passcode in one window, I am then knocked out of the original window. So, I have to start the entire process over, and over, and over again. Now, many companies have computers with multiple screens: so, this is not at issue for them; but for those like myself, who do not, it is a big issue! So, I have to request a hard copy.
Now, when I got the hard copy with a form requiring my signature, and I send it back as a photo using my cell, well here is where matters got worse. On my point of view, one hand does not know what the other hand is doing or at least mycpa's computer system has a"mind of its own." So, in my situation, even though I sent the form twice as an email, once to Eric and another to Vivian, and once via USPS, the form was not received. Why, I do not know!
Anyway, I was never originally informed of this situation. Instead, I received numerous emails requesting the form I sent out earlier of which I would write back, "I sent this out weeks ago!" No response! After a while of receiving the same form-type email, I gave a response to send me the form, physically, via the mail. Yet, again, I never received and I never got a response.
As I had now become very frustrated over the situation, I started I had sent the form! Vivian wrote back to me yesterday that the reason I was getting so many messages was because the form had never been received. So, again, I requested the form me physically mailed to me.
Now, upon further investigation, I found the original of the requested form. I took another photo of it and sent it as part of the text in three separate emails to both Eric and Vivian.
This morning upon reading my emails before having my coffee, on a Sunday, I get an email requesting the form, the same one I sent out yesterday, and weeks earlier. What a way to start the day!
So, I, again, sent out the form via email with a explanation. Of course of upset; therefore, I sent the form that I sent out yesterday, and weeks earlier, again, but I sent it out ten (10) times. The office of MyCPA now has had the authorization form sent to them sixteen (16) times. Tomorrow I am going to UPS and have it faxed to the office. If the office does not get the signature authorization form then there is definitely an issue at their end!
Apparently the office is overworked or the computer just automatically sends out form emails. Regardless of why, there is a breakdown in communication which in my case caused for me to become upset over a matter that could have been dealt with earlier by stating in a personal message, "we regret to inform you the form has not yet been received by this office. If you have sent it out within the past few days then ignore this message. If not, please send it now! If you require the form, please contact the office."
If not for the technology aspect, I have no issue with the firm. I was hoping to avoid having to travel 12 miles one way to sit in front of someone while s/he does my tax returns for an hour - boring or listen to work related telephone conversations or be in the middle of work-related business questions from one employee to Eric.
Well, 2026, is a year away. A lot can happen by that time. I will decide at that time.
Now, after sending out 16 messages with the signature of authorization, I received a message asking me for the form. So, i am done! This is a prefect example of miscommunication and disorganization. Next year I am going elsewhere.
