Café Bismarck on Bismarck Street…read more...
Location: A bit outside of the city center, but perfect for those who have business in the Zollhausarea, university, hospital, school etc.
Drinks: large selection of coffee variations. The coffee is pretty ok, not the best I've ever tried, but decent enough to stop by every so often ;) (And trust me, I do know the difference between good/bad coffee!) The chai latte was not too much to my liking, but try a latte macchiato and add some extra espresso (or vanilla/caramel/etc. shots if you prefer the Starbucks-style) and you can't go wrong!
Food: Huge, ever-changing selection of mostly homemade food! Sandwiches, wraps, quiche, salads, soups, cookies & cake...so many things to chose from, and all of them are delicious! (I really (!!) love the wraps!)
Staff: Really friendly, sometimes you might have to wait a little until you can order, if there's only one person behind the counter and the students are queuing during their lunch break.
The café itself is a charming little coffee shop, decorated with a passion for detail, and plenty of seats. During summer you can also sit outside - perfect for people watching, but slightly loud due to its location next to a street crossing.
Bottom line:
* Perfect if you have some business in this area
* Homemade food (try the wraps! Or the quiche! Or the sweet pastries....! )
* Coffee is decent enough ;)
* Really nice spot, also in summer!
