The guy was responsive in order to book the job, but then quickly became unreliable as the weeks passed. While we agreed to a weekly service, he then came 2 weeks later, and eventually never showed up for the 3rd cut. No call. No apology. No reasoning. He promised things and never completed them, even after I reminded him, like pulling a thorny weed up front - and the elderly gentlemen he had working for him scuffed up the bottom wood panels of my fence with the weedwacker, yet still managed to leave long strands of grass everywhere. read more

Talked to this guy, yesterday. This guy might be honest and willing to help a certain kind of person, but as for me, he pretended that he would call me this morning to set up a time to come out. So I got in touch with him early to confirm he was still coming out; He said he was on another call would call me back in ten minutes. That was three hours ago. I can not for the life of me find one DECENT person to do my landscape project. I am willing to pay a fair price, but keep running into these kinds of people. I hired Raul Gutierrez to extend my patio and to remove my climbing roses and replace with box roses. Also to lay mulch in the flower bed. He had to move one of my sprinkler heads to extend the patio and they put the sprinkler head on backwards so that it sprays onto my patio, causing my furniture and rug to stay soaking wet and unable to use if I keep my system on. I have turned of my sprinkler system waiting for him to come and correct it. He also did not lay ground cover under the mulch, so weeds are growing through the mulch. I asked him to come and correct the issues and gave him more over a week to do so. Now he will not respond to my text or answer my phone calls. I can't keep my sprinklers off or I will loose my grass. This is a simple fix, but he has chosen to ignore me instead of correcting the problems. I would not recommend this company for any type of landscape. read more

Hired this company to build a retaining wall and install a new fence in my back yard. I was given a great price and the reviews were great, so I signed a contract and went with him. Everything started out wonderful. Mr. Gutierrez was nice and respectful and showed up when he was supposed to. When he was going to be late, or couldn't make it because of doing some other job, he would contact me and let me know. There was no problem with the retaining wall, other than I believe it took him a little bit more time and effort than he thought it would. Now as for the back fence, he knew he was supposed to be matching a section that I had replaced a year and a half ago after a storm. This section was built with fir pickets, and it still looked as good as it did when the guy put it up. So good in fact that Gutierrez had originally told me he thought it was cedar pickets when he'd come out to do my estimate, which is much more expensive. At any rate, I made sure he put in the contract that I would be getting the same style and color pickets to match the other section. Here's the problem. In an effort to save money because he had quoted me such a good price for this job, WHILE I WAS AT WORK!!, Mr. Gutierrez knowingly put up pine fencing for the remainder of my fence, leaving me with a mismatched new fence. I was livid, but it was already up! He said he would stain the fence, but of course was unable to match the color of the other section and he was trying to stain it without using a power sprayer. The job looked horrible so I had him stop. My payments were always made on time as outlined In our contract. I'd even given him an additional payment because it was right before Christmas and he said he needed to pay his workers. I was way too nice and now I'm left with this cheaper fence that's already buckling and mildewed because I had to wait for the boards to dry out, but then we got all this rain and you know the rest. He NEVER would have done this to a male client! It's only bee3 1/2 months since the installation. Now, I'll let the pictures do the rest of the speaking. read more

I submitted a general inquiry for services to GPM through Yelp and heard back from Raul within 6 minutes! He was able to come the next day for an estimate, was on time and thorough with the walk through, then emailed over an itemized quote for all the services we discussed. His prices are fair for the work and time spent- he did weeding, trimming of overgrowth, and remulching of all our beds on over 1/2 acre, plus cleaned gutters. Two weeks of rain delayed the start time we discussed but he texted with me regularly to reschedule and was always easily reachable and a great communicator. It took the crew about 2 days to do the work and he did a walk through with me both days to make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely recommend Raul, and will use his company again! read more

I had really let my yard go over the last few months, just didn't have the time or energy anymore and it was in bad shape. I put out an SOS on Yelp and Raul answered quickly, came right out and took a look. I told him everything I wanted done, he made a few recommendations on top of that and got me a quote that night. What I really liked was he broke the quote out so I could pick and choose what I wanted based on budget. I elected to skip a few things for now, which wasn't a problem at all with him. He was out and working right away, really got everything cleaned up nice. Not sure what others would charge, but his quote was very reasonable and the upkeep was exactly what I was hoping for. It's not just a grass cut, he's doing full care for me. Planted grass seed, told me his plan to come back and fertilize, etc. I've really missed having a nice yard for about the last year and a half, so couldn't be happier with the work he's done for us.
