A Norwegian Maple tree can live for over a hundred years, that's a long time but eventually the tree comes to the end of it's life and wants to fall down and go to sleep. Unfortunately that's not always a gentle and easy thing. We had three Norwegian Maples in our yard that were obviously in tough shape and looking more and more decrepid every year. We live in a very windy area and vicious gusts are constantly screaming off Narragansett Bay at up to 40 and 50 knots that rip off any branches that aren't healthy and strong. So as more and more large brances started falling off the venerable trees we became concerned that one of the large chunks of wood would come down on our carriage house or worse yet someone's head. So we called DeNoncour Tree Service and they came out and gave us a reasonable estimate. chopped down the trees, hauled them away and cleaned up. They obviously knew what they were doing, had the proper equipment, and the job was done quickly, efficiently and without anyone getting killed. Trees are nice creatures and I hated to see them go but it definitely was time for those Norwegian Maples to move on. DeNoncour Tree Service professionalism made our loss less painfull.

They were very responsive, professional and timely when it came to our quote and appointment. The day of the tree removal I came home to the crew HUSTLING in the hot heat. Terrible experience. I reached out to Shalvey Brothers to have my yard treated for weeds patches…read moreand cut. I even asked for a quote to cut out a small circle area where I plan to install a firepit. I spoke to Tom shalvey who offered to cut the firepit circle for free. I sent him multiple pictures of my yard and requested a quote as mentioned. He quoted the following in an email: Spring cleanup $450.00 Lawn cut $50.00 each Basic fire pit installed. $1500.0. I sent an email to Tom asking if Spring Cleanup includes the clearing of weeds, and Tom asked me to call him because he was in the middle of something. From our conversation he told me the weeds would be taken care of. The crew came hours later than the time slot I was told and I wasn't home at the time. When I returned all that was completed was a "cut" which is $50 per the quote. I called Shalvey saying that the weeds and patches have not been tended to and I do not want to pay a Spring cleanup fee if all that was a cut. Not to mention they didn't cut the circle for the firepit like he promised. Shalvey informed me that they would have the crew return and complete the work. I tried reaching out the next two days to see when the crew would return as I'm leaving town and the office kept telling me they would check and let me know. So I sent Tom an email explaining that I needed it completed sooner as originally scheduled (no one at the office was getting back to me). He had the crew come back out and cut out the circle for the firepit but nothing else was done with the weeds and patches. I was out of town and when I returned 2 weeks later I couldn't get a hold of Tom. After calling several times and being told someone would get back to me I dropped the matter all together. I had put down a $150 deposit which is much more than the actual work completed. No one could get back to me to complete the work and resolve the issue. I ended up moving out of state and was reached out to only once of twice to pay the invoice. I informed them the work was not completed as promised and I'm not paying the additional $300 for a clean up when it was just a cut. They said they'd look into the bill and get me an updated invoice, only to call me a month later to say the work was in fact completed when it wasn't. The phone calls then picked up to be more frequent. They ended up getting a lawyer and threatening to go to collections. I do not recommend Shalvey Brothers and warn all homeowners to stay away from them. They will mislead you, earn your trust and then rob you. Find a better company with good reviews and save yourself the stress.
