They also have an outdoor terrace that could seat 80-100 people. I was here for an event and had a fixed menu only. Can't tell you about the normal menu. The service is ok albeit slow. My wine glass was empty throughout the evening many times :-)) the food is Asian fusion and steakhouse. I enjoyed my mixed Asian starter plate and loved my beef short rib with truffle sauce. The chocolate dessert was so so. We drank Californian wines and their selection was quite decent. I imagine they have a fairly stocked cellar as it seems like the place to hangout for many in the finance sector. I cannot comment on prices but it looks expensive. I might come back again and give their normal menu a whirl and update my review.

Stattcafé has been a popular hangout for students and its' local neighbours for many years…read more Located just off of the famous Leipzigerstraße in Bockenheim on Grempstraße, it welcomes the public through their wide sidewalk café space, allowing a slight hesitation for deciding to grab a table to taste one of their pleasant meals or sit down for a late breakfast. Once inside, you are greeted with a living room style feel and can find yourself easily at home, ready to put your feet up - but don't. The portions of food are fair as well as the prices. I wasn't too fond of their chili though. I consider myself a chili connoisseur, (after having lived in Texas for eleven years) and the chili at Stattcafé did not taste like chili. I did enjoy a cup of their cappuccino and a wonderful pancake dessert with fruit and vanilla ice cream. The staff are great. One thing I did find is that the food was not consistent with taste and how it was plated or served. I would attribute this to who the cook of the day was. Each to his own. It's a great place to read a book or meet a friend. I favor the back of the cafe since I have scouted to outlet sources for my laptop. One at the very back, next to the door to the balcony and the other outlet is just on the left hand side by the first table as you enter the back part of the cafe. Unfortunately, there is no wifi. Note on Weekends: Surprisingly, on the weekends, it becomes a family get together and I DO MEAN FAMILY. I was there on a Saturday and a Sunday had both times, the cafe was full of children. It was fun to be around kids but if you are looking for a place less child inhabited then the weekends at Statt may NOT be the best place. P.S. I love children so it was a really treat for me.

I was amazed that I could secure a reservation two weeks out at the Gustav Restaurant. It features…read moretwo Michelin stars. The meal consisted of five main courses and several smaller ones. The food quality, preparation and presentation were exemplary. I would say I was somewhat surprised by the restaurant's casual décor, that only two staffers worked the tables and the pacing of dishes often was delayed. My daughter and I ordered the wine pairings. After your glass was filled, they leave the bottle on the table with a napkin on top. We didn't know that this bottle was there to be simply admired. We felt the pours we received were very shallow. We thought it was there to refill our glasses. We learned quickly from one of the servers that was not the case. It was an embarrassing situation that caused us to leave the restaurant before our dessert was served. When I explained the situation to our server, she made no effort to remedy the misunderstanding. Our check came to $500 Euros.

Set in the…read morewest end area of the city it has a modern and chic looking place with nice furniture, cutlery and glassware. The staff here are very nice and friendly albeit slightly aloof and the service is spot on. The food however is pretty uninspiring and I couldn't really tell the difference between the courses. Modern German inspired cuisine is the theme here but I must admit it was disappointing. Have eaten in tons of 2 star restaurants in Germany including the second one in Frankfurt this place would be at the bottom of the list for me. The best part of the meal was the amouse bouche and the waffles in the end. The rest was similar sauce with different additions and quite rich and fatty. I felt my sugar levels rise significantly. Never been to a restaurant at this level where there is no bread to mop up the juices on the plate. The generosity of the kitchen left a lot to be desired and jumping straight from the fatty and super rich duck straight to dessert meant the taste of the dessert was not at all felt. A palette cleanser would have made that so much better. This is the first time at a Michelin restaurant I did not finish my meal despite being hungry. The vegetarian menu was also pretty uninspired and none of us at the table enjoyed our meal. I don't think I would come back here again. I expect so much more from a restaurant at this level. Looks and service is good but for me it is all about the food.
