There were surfboards, metal items and of course beautiful pictures. The art was on the high side but it was nice. This place is well curated. I wanted to patronize this place but they didn't have many smaller items like jewelry to buy. That's the only small critique I have. I will definitely return here.

You can 100% trust Victoria and her boss Mark. The reason I prefer this gallery over others is because the consultants. For example, Victoria literally picked out Several pieces that I fell in love with. No other gallery (Gupton and/or Gensis) is that invested in their clients to know EXACTLY what a client might like. She was spot on with what I was looking for and I cannot say enough good things. I trust Victoria and Mark with my life. They will work tirelessly to get you want you want, and then to be happy with those choices. Lastly, Oceanfront Gallery is NEVER pushy. You never feel anyone hovering over you like at other galleries (listed above). They are interested in getting you what you want. Please check out Oceanfront and ask for Victoria. She will not let you down.

As we slowly wandered…read morethrough the gallery, taken aback by the beautiful art, we were stopped in our tracks by a painting. We both instantly fell in love with it. I quickly asked the young lady (Liz) if there was a smaller print of it and she informed us that it was an unfinished piece, letting us know there were others with similarities. We quickly said no other would do. You see, this painting was as though the artist, her husband Ernest, was sitting in the boat with us when we were married off the coast, near the Captain Cook monument. The painting was stunning and already meant something to us. Liz gave us information and we went on our way. We talked about the painting for weeks following. I believe we were contacted via email, letting us know the painting had been completed. Although we didn't purchase the original, we were guaranteed the signed and number 1 print. On top of that, the incredible artist, (Ernest, who is the husband of the nice young lady, Liz in the shop) carefully and strategically hid our names and wedding date in the print, along with their signature islands. Our print is one of a kind and it means so much to us. We were contacted when it was on its way to us and kept in the loop the whole time. It arrived and we were pleased beyond measure! It was exciting to seek out our personal hidden information and the islands. Topping off the print, a hand written message on the back of the canvas from Ernest himself... truly a treasure in our home!!! The painting sets itself apart from the decor in our home but it's treasured!

Some of the woodworkings and glass art are spectacular! There are loads of other items as well, each one unique and hand made. When we arrived, there was a glass-blowing workshop going on outside the cooperative, where a man was teaching a group of people how to make glass art, by melting the glass on a rod in the big hot oven, then blowing into the hollow tube to shape the glass, and fill it with air. This would be a fantastic way to spend a few hours, if you're creative and don't mind the heat of the oven. They'll even ship your finished work of art to you if you're not around, in the day or so after it dries and cools.

The skilled glassblowers, Matthew and Carolyn will guide you through the process of making your own custom glass object. This is an excellent group activity as you watch and encourage each other as you make your objects in turn. A unique experience to say the least, and your final reward is a keepsake to commemorate the experience for years to come. This was the highlight of my last Big Island trip.

Darrell helped us in the store, explained how to care for the furniture, and provided us with quotes. We were able to choose the tables and chairs separately and are very pleased with the quality and price. Very sturdy pieces and beautiful wood finish! Delivery was also amazing at only $99. The owners personally delivered and set up the furniture. They took great care in handling the pieces. They unwrapped the furniture on site to protect it in transit and used moving blankets when needed. I highly recommend Big Island Living for its quality furniture and friendly, helpful, and professional service.

About a month ago, I ordered two furniture pieces and paid a 50% deposit, with the understanding I would pay the remaining balance when the items arrived. While I was in the store, I witnessed another customer ask about a kamaʻāina discount and paying cash to avoid taxes, and the salesperson agreed. I then asked if I could do the same. The salesperson told me that with a Hawaiʻi driver's license, I qualified for a kamaʻāina discount. The salesperson offered to refund my deposit so I could pay cash after the discount was applied when the furniture arrived, and I agreed. Later, I was contacted by the owner (Courtney), who told me they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount and that paying cash was the "discount." That is not what was explained to me in-store. When I asked that the agreement made by their salesperson be honored, it was refused. Instead, I was repeatedly told that the kamaʻāina discount (which they dont offer!!) referred to tax savings, which was never how it had been presented at the time of purchase. I questioned why I needed a Hawaii Drivers License then? Anyone can pay cash! During that call, Courtney ended the conversation after stating she would not honor what had been communicated in-store and had nothing further to discuss. Because of how this situation was handled, I chose not to move forward with the transaction. Potential customers should be wary of what felt like bait-and-switch terms and unethical business practices. What is communicated at the point of sale may not be what is ultimately honored. This experience felt misleading, reflected poor business practices, and completely eroded my trust.
