I didn't even know I had a problem until I compared my gums with others. Yikes, glad Dr Serg caught it and skillfully corrected the problem. Thank you!! They could've improved my service by giving me more detailed printed aftercare instructions for a frenectomy. It's not the same aftercare as a tooth extraction, which I was given.

In all of my 13 years in dentistry as a dental assistant including pediatrics, I have never experienced such bad service in my life. Dr. Hawasli was amazing. She was the only reason we kept coming back. Let me just start by saying that their "No parent allowed back" is ridiculous. I know that sometimes kids behave better without a parent. Been there done that! But a chance should always be given to each family. These people will just say straight up no. They allowed me back because I would not allow my child to go back without me. My kids didn't even flinch with me in the room, but they wouldn't have known that had I not put my foot down. One time my kid was taken back by a young man, with pink sharp long nails twice the length of mine. Of course I could not go back in cause "it's just a cleaning". When my little girl came back she was complaining of gum discomfort because she said his nails were pointy and he kept breaking his gloves because of the nails. That is not hand hygiene compliance and it is poor practices of infection control protocol. This is problematic. I had to schedule at the Fort Myers facility for the next visit, to avoid the long nailed male dental assistant and not hurt his feelings. My child had a couple of cavities, which we scheduled, but they said my insurance would not cover for white fillings and I would have to pay the difference, they would only cover for amalgams (aka silver fillings, which contain mercury). Of course, I said no way. I know for a fact that my insurance (MOST insurances, even Medicaid Molina ) pay for white fillings. They fought me and said they would have to cancel the appointment until they sent a predetermination to the insurance to see if they would cover. To their surprise IT DID COVER ALL! I knew because I have handled dental insurances for years and I was trained to do a complete job. But guess what? Amalgams are cheaper and less troublesome to place. Not saying they didn't want to do a white restoration, but they didn't even want to hear it. Had I not questioned it and expressed my experience, they wouldn't have even tried. The lady that dealt with the insurances was clueless. I wonder how many kids have walked away with amalgams thinking they couldn't get a white filling. Today , I called because the filling they placed fell off and my child is complaining of it bothering her. Her dental appointment is scheduled in 20 days for a cleaning. The girl said they could not see her until after that cleaning appointment. I was livid. How can you even think of a cleaning when the filling you put less than a year ago fell off and my kid is complaining. "I'm so sorry ma'am. It's office policy. We don't schedule any emergency appointments unless they have had a cleaning first! " she said. What? In 20 days that tooth could end up with an abscess. This filling was not supposed to fall off 9 months later. Their "office policies" are ridiculous and should have some kind of filtration system. There is just no common sense in those policies nor in the way they are handled. She didn't even ask the doctor to see what she would have said regarding this particular tooth, it's history, etc. Just a redundant NO. Then she said that she could move the cleaning for sooner so that they could take X-rays and see the tooth. At this point I was just wanting to run away from this office and their "brain dead policies". The least they could have done is schedule for a PA (X-ray) and if needed, temp filling to close the tooth so the pulp doesn't become inflamed and allow it to buy more time for a proper time slot after the cleaning. That is proper dentistry, not leaving kids hanging on work they should be responsible for to begin with. I don't mind waiting for an emergency appointment. I get it when there is no time, but to make us do a cleaning with a hurting tooth and THEN and only THEN, start looking for an emergency appointment is ridiculous and a disservice to the child. NEVER STEPPING FOOT INTO THIS PRACTICE AGAIN. I suggest the good doctors flee from their poor management and extremist office policy. Run from this place. There is so much better out there. Your kids deserve better.
