Florida requires proof of training to apply for a permit. I called the Gold Mine to ask if I could get a certificate. The first person stated that she did not think that the certificate would suffice for a Florida permit. I thanked her and hung up. I was not upset, just wanted to see if this could be a route I could take to save $75.00. About 15 minutes later, I received a call from the Gold MIne and the young lady on the phone informed me that the information I had received was inaccurate. She contacted the instructor to see how the could help me and she and the instructor volunteered to mail me the certificate. I was amazed at the lengths they went to help me. I come back occasionally and will definitely shop there for any and all of my future firearm needs.

Only thing they need is a coffee machine and chairs! LOL All kidding aside, great bunch of folks and I enjoy their business. Being a former business owner myself, I will say....it's much easier to get your questions answered in person for the detailed answers. Whenever another foolish politician makes a dumb comment on Tv, it causes a mad rush of people to execute our 2nd amendment. So having a detailed phone conversation is hard sometimes. The line of people puts a lot of pressure on folks to get off the phone. Not really making excuses for anyone, just something I have personally had to do in my business and witnessed while I was shopping at OEGS. Happy New Year to you all. GB Stanhope

Now, you have what we got today... A guy leering at us and making us feel absolutely unwelcome. An aloof attitude of open despise towards customers. A "How dare you come into my store" energy. Guess what guys? You are not the only gun store in town. Yes, you have a great selection of product at semi- reasonable prices. I might even want to spend what you are asking but at the end of the day the terrible customer service mixed with a we hate you attitude makes it just not worth it. Bring back the older guys who were nice. Get rid of the lady who took the place of the two who were actually pleasant and happy - and tune up the behavior of the staff and I promise you will sell more.

When I asked for .44 magnum they offered me .44 special at nearly $70 a box. I literally laughed and asked if they were serious. After telling them AIM surplus sells .44 mag for under $40 a box they said "well we can't compete with online prices." Sir that's a $30 difference, not some dealer markup to keep the lights on. Never bought a gun but their prices seem to be the industry standard $50 above MSRP. I get competition with online gun sales and ammo must be tough but I'm trying to support my LGS and you guys make it really hard to do so with these crazy prices. Lastly their transfer fees are abysmal. They clearly want you to buy from them and discourage you from buying online through high fees.
