Been in here to poke around a few times. It's like a post-apocalyptic garage sale. Guitar Grave is moving to SoPo. The owners could have made an effort to keep the place nice and organized. It could have been a go-to musician-oriented used music equipment source downtown, but NOPE it's a dingy pointless mix of old junk. read more

Literally the worst experience in my life at any store. Don't bother. It's a pawn shop, so i brought in two guitar amps to sell. Within five minutes, and without any questions or explanation, the employee looking at the amps called the cops. What i thought would be a normal saturday morning turned into me being questioned for an hour by the police because this idiot thought the amps were stolen, but would not explain why he thought that. The reality is, i bought them fairly at a music shop over ten years ago when I was in high school. The store is full of abused equipment that looks like it will barely turn on. After my Saturday morning flushed down the toilet before my eyes, and they had treated me like criminal, the cops let me go and the guys who run this hole in the wall offered no apology or explanation. I genuinely hope craigslist puts this place in its own grave. read more

I just bought a pair of $15 headphones and they were sooooooooo horrible... So I brought them back to exchange and he said no they are supposed to sound shitty like that! What did you expect for $15 headphones and refused to exchange them. They are the white over the ear headphones in a white box. Don't even bother coming here. Not even worth half a star. These men not only consistently harass and belittle customers, but take it and put it onto the YouTube channel "Mike Fink" and laugh at it. These men have no right owning a business. Cluttered decor, ignoring customers, red tape & fine print all over their "bargains" and all around poor management. Hope you go out of business, "Mike". LETS MAKE A DEAL!! This place is awesome to shop..with a little bit of cash on hand combined with the ability/skills to haggle and some down home respect your mom and dad taught you... you may be able to walk out with arm loads of great stuff! This is no claim..just saying from my own experience shopping at Guitar Grave in the past and facts based on my own experiences.. I have walked into the store with x amount of $$ to buy a guitar..tag/price on the guitar showed x amount of $$ I was polite and asked if they would work with me...so happens they said yes..they offered payment plans..and depending on product they were willing to negotiate..for example this particular time they offered me a discount..needless to say i was very happy..with the money i saved i asked about strings..so happens they had a sale on strings!! From there i asked out of curiosity about amplifiers..again they pointed me in the direction of an amplifier that best suited my new guitar! They gave me a great deal on the amp! I couldn't refuse! They had also thrown in a few cool items to go with my set up...cables...picks...overall i had an awesome experience and saved a ton of money!! I would also like to mention the employees are a bit rough around the edges..meaning they are not your everyday geek dressed suit and tie guys..but they will help you out. If you happen to walk around the store and cant find what your looking for?...just ask Mike..chances are good he can help you out. And just a shout out to you bands that are looking for quality equipment ..Mike is the go to guy for that..again just from my experience and a opinion...Thank You Mike!! read more

Paid 40 dollars for a man covered in offensive tattoos to restring my guitar. Couldn't tune the lowest two strings for 3 weeks, and then one of them broke. Now I have to pay for new strings AGAIN. It was not strung properly and I was overcharged for the hour it took to change the strings. I will not be returning to Guitar Grave. read more
