A nice looking store. Great place to try out gear. They just leave you alone after an initial, "Can I help you?" Yea let me play this expensive guitar through this expensive amp for an hour. Every time I come here I want to kick myself for going back! It's the only location that's convenient and closest to my house. The two times I've come in to buy equipment from this location the Customer Service has always been bad. It's like they cringe when they see you and God forbid you have a question regarding their stuff. I mean, hello, it's your job to know your products. I can't say I've come across a salesperson who has stayed with me from start to finish. I'll ask them for help, they'll answer one question then step away. Shame on me for going back and giving them $100's of dollars! Poor customer experience every time. Dear musical neophyte: Don't let the name mislead you. They sell more than guitars. Guitar Center stores are laid out in the standard configuration of Guitars (duh!), keyboard, a/v and percussion. I brought in two of my guitars to sell and was told "sorry, we can't take this because your neck is bent/warped and there is some fret buzz". So i took the guitars to a luthier to confirm their findings and was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with the guitars other than that I have set my action a bit low. No warping or bending in the neck or in the wood at all.  Don't tell me something is wrong with my guitars if you weren't sure or if you didn't want to buy them tell me that. I ended taking my guitars to sam ash, a guitar tech checked them out and they were evaluated right away. read more

I'm new to guitar so I went there for a string tuning that was needed and some possible accessories. The employee named James was helpful and helped me find a perfect guitar amp that is easy for beginners, loud in sound, and budget friendly. So far Guitar Center is a good convenient store and oddly I'm not sure why the reviews aren't so good. First couple times shopping there, there weren't any problems. read more

This is one of the more unfriendly Guitar center stores . Almost every guitar I picked up was severely out of tune. They don't have a large selection of guitars and the help ( all guys) looked like they were put out when I inquired about a specific guitar . I also had a Martin that I bought in for a repair and the gentleman made it clear that he would not touch it because it needed to be repaired by a Martin guitar expert or I would lose my warranty , granted I did not know this but he was clearly adamant and was busy working on another guitar as we were talking and never made eye contact . This place is gonna b my second home! When u walk in u see lights and electric guitars and drums and all of that. I got drawn to the guitars! I'm learning how to play the ukulele and they let u practice in sound proof rooms. Everyone is so nice there I was literally sitting in the "guitar room" playing the ukulele terribly and one employee walks right past and starts to play another guitar! I also played the piano and drums and I sucked but I had fun. Overall it's a rlly good experience and a rlly fun setting. read more

I have purchased two guitars there, a American pro Fender Tele an entry level Ibanez....also acousti a Vox amp and a bunch of extras like tuners etc. Cesar helped me on both of my guitar purchases and he was wonderful. He took a lot of time with me and gave me his honest opinion even though it led to me spending LESS money. He took the time to play sample songs for me showing me the different tones and sounds (I am a beginner and he showed a ton of patience). I've been there other numerous times to "look around" and the other guys who work there were also extremely pleasant and friendly. Maybe the negative reviews were referring to some prior employees who no longer are employed there? Another nice thing is that they will validate your parking ticket for a reduced parking rate. In these times of dominating on-line purchases it's nice to be able to walk into a store and sit down and try before you buy. Thanks again Cesar. read more

This review is directed at this location's current guitar tech. When I needed a small repair (low nut slot causing string buzz) on my Gibson Les Paul, Russ handled it with utmost professionalism and courtesy. He has raised the bar for what I might expect for this type of service at a local GC. In the past, I would not have had high confidence in anything beyond a basic setup here. It's a pleasure to know that I can easily have more complex issues dealt with conveniently. Russ is knowledgeable, capable and personable. He cheerfully did the work while I waited and aimed to please. Exceeded my expectations. read more

Horrible customer service, Bought an acoustic guitar last year but got one with a dead note and they said I can't replace it, fast forward another year I wanted to trade it in to get a newer/better one and now they say they don't take guitars with a dead note on it. Well FML. Had the most terrible experience with this place, don't support this place. read more

The store is understaffed and they took other "easier" clients before me and I waited for service for about 30 minutes. I had to go find my strings myself and then wait again for an employee. Love guitar center and the vibe is good but they need more sales associates that can cross over and do other things and reach out to other departments. read more
