When we lost my Dad, it was very grievous. However, funeral director Matthew was absolutely kind, compassionate, respectful and attentive to our every need during our time of sorrow. I know that it is never a pleasant experience having to walk into a funeral home, but, leaving this particular establishment put our minds and souls at ease knowing that my Dad was going to be taken care of and treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Thank you very much for everything that was provided to help us ease our sorrow. Matthew, you are a testament to your profession and humanity.

A funeral home? Did someone die? Whew, luckily no. Everyone is ok, but if something terrible…read morehappens, I know that this is the only funeral home I would trust with any of my family. This place has been my neighbor, honestly..lived next door to it, since I was born. Sorry not telling you how long, but long enough. Mr Urquhart was an........interesting man. Good to my family and the boys that would sometime end up in his yard? Long story...he, he, he!! Mr. Murphy is the man now. Mr Urquhart is no longer with us. As a family, we have been blessed with few loses so far. But when we have had one, all it takes is one phone call to the funeral home and everything is taking care of...everything. That alone, knowing at a time of sorrow and sadness that there is something that you don't have to worry about. Knowing that your loved one is in good hands and taking care of with respect and dignity goes a long ways. The place is clean, organized, and the staff are courteous and respectful. Not sure what else to say about a funeral home. I hope I don't have to go there too often, unless it is to get our soccer ball out of his yard again...oops!! But knowing if I have to, I have nothing to worry about...that is five stars all the time.

Very crowded cemetery. Yeah, they're dying to get in here. Okay, now that that is passed…read more Lincoln Park is the main Jewish cemetery for Providence. It was the Jewish organization established in 1906 by Chesed Shel Emes. It is also known as Rhode Island Historical Cemetery Warwick #11. As I said, crowded but there is enough room to drive through. Most of the roadways are smooth though there is only enough space for one vehicle in each direction. The cemetery is the final resting place for jazz musician Lew Sherwood (1903-1971). was the featured vocalist with Eddy Duchin & His Orchestra during the band's greatest years, from 1933 to 1941, and was the band's primary trumpet soloist and one of its musical arrangers. Check out https://youtu.be/vXn1Wy13RxI. One feature near the entrance is an extensive area for Jewish war veterans. There is a large polished granite Memorial wall and annual Memorial Day ceremony is held here at which the names of those Veterans who died during the prior year are unveiled. I've seen very old graveyards where the gravestones were placed close together but I don't ever think I've seen one quite this packed. Since I haven't been to many Hebrew Cemeteries I don't know if this is a common practice or unique to this particular graveyard. Others areas were very open which made quite a contrast. The cemetery is lovely and has some unique and very beautiful memorials. Lots of stones that were carved to resemble tree stumps and some very oddly shaped gravestones. The Hebrew practice of placing small stones on the gravesites out of respect was also very prevalent and added a very poignant and personal touch to this beautiful cemetery. A truly wonderful and fascinating cemetery that is a very lovely and reflective reminder of those that have lived before us and have now moved on.

She did an amazing job with both, so when my mother-in-law was placed on hospice in March, we called and asked specifically for her. From start to finish, Nicole began taking care of business and always made herself available, even on her days off. We wanted to place the obituary in the local paper, but it needed to be in quickly. My husbands aunt and I were trying to write it together by collaborating over the phone as we live in different states. We needed to make the deadline by 12:00 pm and we just made it but since we rushed there were many error's that we noticed after. I frantically got ahold of Nicole and without missing a beat she corrected the article right in time for the printed version. We were originally told that they couldn't guarantee an open casket, as we were waiting 2 weeks after she passed to have the funeral so that my son could come home on military leave for it. But Nicole made it happen. She even touched up my mother in laws regrowth, and colored her brown roots to blond. The services went very smoothly and Nicole organized the whole event with ease. Our family and friends were very pleased with the results. I realize that writing a review for a funeral director is not as glamorized as a review for a vacation, but it is something that all of us will have to face someday for not only ourselves but the loved ones on our life. I had a negative experience when we buried my father in law, with another funeral company. I can only say that this experience is etched in my memory that even exceeds the loss of my father in law. Having a kind, patient, caring, thoughtful person taking care of everything after your loved one has passed makes the experience much more bareable. Nicole has done this for us in all that she does and we will for ever be grateful.
