I couldn't be more grateful to have found Marlena and her team! I recently completed a cash out refinance with them, and they made the entire experience a breeze. From the very beginning I felt like Marlena was a true partner who had my back. She is beyond organized, an excellent communicator, and super efficient (seriously, the woman gets sh*t DONE!). Not once during the process did I feel out of the loop. Whenever I lacked understanding, she educated me in a way that was empowering so I could make decisions with full confidence. I absolutely recommend Marlena and the Olson Team! 10/10! read more

With the recent increases in rent (fun fact: Sacramento has the third-highest rent increase in the U.S.) paired with soaring home prices, my wife and I were stuck in a tough position. With the possibility of another recession approaching in the upcoming years, we could continue to rent and pray that home prices eventually decline. However, we literally felt like we were throwing money away as our apartment complex continued to increase rent in order to remain competitive with neighboring complexes. We decided to take a leap of faith and see what the housing market could offer us. Per recommendation by our Realtor Mrs. Courtney Ellison, we scheduled an appointment with Mortgage Loan Originator Mrs. Shannon Walton at VITEK Mortgage group. Leading up to our initial appointment with Shannon, Shannon sent us an email detailing all of the items that we would need for our pre-approval. When we arrived at the VITEK office, Shannon immediately welcomed us into her office. Before diving into the home loan process, Shannon inquired about the areas that we would prefer to live in, and our ideal mortgage payment. Next, she patiently walked us through the home loan process from beginning to end. After hearing the process and having all of our questions answered, we decided to move forward with the pre-approval. Once we received approval, Shannon began explaining the various loan options that we could opt for. She patiently played the "fun" numbers game that would eventually assist us in determining our monthly mortgage payment (home amount, down payment, loan longevity, interest rate). Shannon would eventually arrive at numbers that satisfied my wife and I. That evening we left Shannon's office confident that we would find a home that we could comfortably (keyword) afford. Once our amazing Realtor was able to assist us in finding our home, the loan process kicked into overdrive. From beginning to end, Shannon did a great job of communicating every intricate detail of the loan process (there were no "surprises" at the end of the process). Although we did not physically see Shannon until we had to meet in person for the loan signing, Shannon kept in touch with us via email and quickly responded to any questions that we had. Aside from her home loan expertise, Shannon was a pleasure to work with. She is very relatable, professional, understanding, and not once did we feel like we were under any pressure to conduct business with her. Most importantly, she alleviated the new homebuyer stress and anxiety that we were experiencing. We highly recommend Shannon for your home loan needs....thank you Shannon! read more

THE OLSON TEAM IS AMAZING!!!! I am a Real Estate Agent in Reno NV and I had the opportunity to work with Marlena and her team! Our mutual clients came from California and I was happy they choose to work with this exceptional team. The communication was the best I have ever experienced and the attention to detail was incredible. Did I mention that they closed in 21 DAYS!!!!!!! If you are looking for exceptional professionalism, matched with Customer-focused business and AMAZING results, look no further! I can not speak more highly of this amazing experience! read more

Marlena at Guild Mortgage is the absolute BEST! We used her for our first home purchase 9 years ago and then again this year and she did not disappoint. She goes above and beyond for her clients! I highly recommend her and Guild Mortgage. read more

Marlena Olson is a gem! She is one of the most responsive, friendly and competent mortgage professionals I have had the pleasure of dealing with. My family has bought and sold multiple properties in the past and I must say, despite the hurdles posed by COVID and economic uncertainty, Marlena and her team tirelessly work to meet deadlines and the needs of their customers. She was able to secure and lock a great rate for me and my family while we transitioned from out of state. When I had concerns about needing more communication about the lending process, she went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. Real estate transactions are stressful no matter what, but rest assured that Marlena will have your best interests in mind at all times and she will go to bat for you as a customer :-) read more

Couldn't close my very straightforward simple loan in 70 days. Other lender did in three weeks saving money, time and better rate. Guild wasn't transparent and lacked communication. Made decisions on my behalf without keeping me in the loop. I wouldn't have approved. Frustrating process resulting in no results. I would not go on this journey with Guild ever again. So many other options which will yield better results. read more

I very happy with the service Guild Mortgage and Evelyn Jamet team here in Sacramento has provided me, this is the second time working with her and her team and it was just an amazing experience this time from selling my condo to buying a new condo within a month I had sold my home and bought a new one closed on both properties within a day apart, I couldn't have had a better experience all the way. Wonderful experience and wonderful people at Guild Mortgage. read more

Marlena has made our first time home buying experience sooo memorable. She was straight up with us. Kept us educated and informed every step of the way. No question we had ever seemed dumb to her. She actually enjoyed our questions. She honestly made the process seamless, painless, and we can't wait to buy our next home. We appreciate, admire, adore and respect her level of knowledge and willingness to help anytime of the day or night. We have truly found a lifelong friend in Marlena. Kind of sad the process is complete because we won't be able to hear her kind tone on the phone or receive her amazingly animated text message. It's truly been a pleasure to work with her. We love you MARLENA! read more

I had the good fortune of stumbling onto Marlena and the Vitek Mortgage Group while looking for a home. I sent an email into the Vitek website inquiring about getting pre-qualified for a loan and I must have received a call back from Marlena within milliseconds. Needless to say, I was impressed with her responsiveness. Because my wife and I both had busy schedules with work and managing our our two kids, Marlena and her team set up a conference call with us to go over all the information required for getting pre-qualified. The information required was pretty staggering but Marlena and her team certainly made it as painless as possible providing the technology needed for me to easily update documents at all hours of the night enabling minimal impact to our busy lives. Fast forward to my family and I finally finding a new home. We ended up finding a quick move in home in one of these new Toll Brothers communities that provides their own financing as well as substantial incentives to go with their lenders. We were able to negotiate a price under list (unheard of these days) if we were able to close on the property within 2-months. The cash incentives Toll Brothers offered to go with their lender could be used towards the closing costs of the loan and it was certainly enticing. My wife and I discussed this and even with this incentive, we both felt that the work Marlena and her team had already invested in our loan as well as our overall gut feelings, told us to stay with Vitek so this is what we decided to do, and thank God we did. Our experience with the Toll Brothers over the next month made it very clear that we made the right decision deciding to work with Marlena and Vitek mortgage. For a company that seemed keen on closing on a property quickly, Toll Brothers seemed to be intent on impeding on this process around every corner. Toll Brothers sales were slow to respond, missed key in-person meetings, incompetent in delivering the required documents. Marlena and her team were absolute bulldogs when it came to staying on top of the right people and ensuring they delivered what was requested. We ended up closing in just over 30 days and this wouldn't have been possible without Marlena and her team. Marlena even showed up for my final signing (Beautiful Gift Basket for our new home in hand) with the notary and helped guide her along as well to ensure everything was done correctly. Marlena and her team were a god send and my family and I owe her so much for helping us through such a daunting process. I can't even begin to tell you how much I would recommend her to anybody looking to get financing for a new home. She is a true professional and an absolute work horse and oh yeah, a great person. read more

As a first time home buyer, I was nervous and worried about who to talk to and where to look for assistance in purchasing my new home. There are so many businesses out there who tell you one thing, but ultimately look for financial gain. However, Marlena at Vitek was so transparent and up front with her business plan. She made it her mission in making sure that my needs were met in a timely fashion. Her team was consistent and they were prompt in responses. It felt like I had an entourage of people working for me. They gave me deadlines and made paperwork so easy to understand. At first I was nervous about the thought of buying my first home, but with the easy-going and friendly approach by Marlena, I am happy that I used Vitek as the team to get to where I wanted to be. Thanks Marlena. read more

Great, great, great, great, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Laura and Evelynn REALLY cared about my wife and I's first home purchase and made the daunting process of applying/filing for a loan incredibly easy and smooth! They definitely care and were always pleasant/patient/knowledgeable since we are very inexperienced in these kinds of purchases. I could not recommend Vitek more for their services for your home purchase! Thank you!! Edit: found this in my drafts 2 years later and I guess I never posted it. read more

Evelyne Jamet was the lender for my buyers on a transaction that closed last week. My clients came to me, pre-approved by Evelyne. Often times, if we haven't worked with a lender, we Realtors can be concerned about how the transaction may go with a lender we are unfamiliar with. Evelyn and her team were wonderful! From beginning to end, she kept my buyers informed, as well as keeping not only myself, as the buyers agent informed, she kept the list agent and everyone else involved in the transaction updated throughout the process. I make it a point to attend my client's signing appointments, and it was very nice to have her there as well. Taking care of the clients, as a team, all the way through to the signing (and beyond!) is just one of the many aspects of assuring the clients have the best experience possible. read more

Working with Marlena Olson was best decision my significant other and I made. Being first time home buyers we did not have a clue as to the process or documentation needed, and thankfully we didn't need to. This extremely stressful process was made stress free. Marlena was there the entire process checking in, letting us know what was happening next and what she needed from us. She made herself available whenever we had questions via phone, text, or email. I could not imagine working with anyone else. We were even able to close escrow early and get our keys that much quicker! She has such a great attitude and inviting personality - I would recommend her to any family member or friend. read more

This is our second loan through Marlena Olson and VITEK Mortgage Group. Marlena, her assistant Monica Gomez, and the VITEK team made our VA home buying process a breeze. As many others have already written, her follow-through and communication throughout the transaction from start to finish was amazing! Not to mention, she totally rocks it as a 3rd grade tutor (Adam says he loves Miss Marlena!). Monica is fantastic at keeping up with all of the crazy timelines and deadlines that seem to hit you at every turn. Thanks Monica for making sure we stayed on track! We wouldn't hesitate to send friends and family Marlena's way when they need an expert who truly watches out for their best interests. Who's ready for the "Stock the Bar" party?!?!?! read more

Laura Derry, loan partner of Team Evelyne Jamet is the BEST. Seriously. As a first-time home buyer I pursued a short sale transaction that was anything but short. Laura was patiently there for me every step of the way for all of my questions. I appreciated that she was proactive during the transaction to obtain all the documents needed so that when I finally did receive approval from the short sale bank, the funding for the loan could be wired immediately. Laura embodies everything that you would want in your mortgage lender; she is honest, professional, and meticulous. Prior to working with her, I reached out to another yelp recommended mortgage lender who was patronizing, overly aggressive, and sent a negative email to me when I chose to work with someone else. Laura is the complete opposite and I have no reservations about working with her again in the future. read more

Tim, you don't know the facts! Marlena Olsen was our mortgage broker and there is not enough space to write all the positive things about her. From the first meeting (after our loan application), Marlena explained all the do's and don'ts of the loan process and made us feel not only at ease, but made us feel that she was there to make sure everything went perfectly. Not only will she return emails, texts, phone calls in a timely manner, she will do it on vacation or in the middle of the night. We have finally come to the end of this painless process and we owe it all to her. She became a friend and a confidant during this time. We look forward to keeping in touch and would not hesitate to recommend her to any friend or family member that is seeking mortgage assistance. And if your reading Marlena, thank you from The bottom of our hearts. read more

I highly recommend VITEK and Evelyne Jamet for all of your mortgage loan needs. It was the easiest loan I have ever gotten and we really didn't have to think about anything, they were on top of all of the details and deadlines. It was an easy no stress process with Evelyne. read more

Our family has been working with Marlena since 2007! I cannot express how much we value her professionalism, perfectionism and empathy. She's not only our lender, but someone we can call a friend. What I appreciate most is how she takes the time to explain the process to you, keep you informed about the various benchmarks in the process and let's you know what you can expect. She's not looking to just close a deal, but get you the best loan for your scenario. I had an out of state buyer coming the Las Vegas to buy and had her own lender PRE qualification already in place. This broker was not able to deliver the promised product and never provided an adequate reason why. Closing was delayed as a result of incompetence. This is an ultra conservative outfit that can only provide very basic products. If there is a hint of complexity to your transaction stay as far away from Vitek as you can. read more

Marlena Olsen and her team are amazing! I was a first time buyer, single mom, and not sure if I could own my own home. I needed hard facts, brutal truth, and a kind and friendly hand to guide me through the scary and confusing process. And that is what Marlena provided, along with sound advice and gentle encouragement. I knew my little family was in good safe hands! read more

Marlena Olson and her team are just the best. We had worked with Marlena previously and from that experience there was no question who we would work with for our home purchase. Wow! What an amazing experience we have had using Guild Mortgage! As first time homebuyers we were completely clueless how this whole process works, and Marlena from Guild was there to help and support us from day one! I can not put into words how great everyone we worked with from Guild Mortgage is! Cheers to them for helping us now own the title of homeowners ! read more

Marlene really listens and does everything possible to deliver. On every level, her professionalism made a difference. I am grateful that I had her working on my behalf. She helped me navigate the complexities of closing that would take a miracle to get done on time. I have to admit, most agents do not go to the lengths that she took to anticipate what it takes to keep everyone engaged to keep things on track. She has earned my enthusiastic recommendation for a superior customer support experience. She didn't promise more than she could deliver but she found ways to add value all along the way. Even my real estate agent who had never worked with her before was amazed and told me that she planned on recommending her in the future. read more

I shopped around for rates when I was interested in refinancing this summer. I worked with Marlena Olson who came highly recommended, and I can say I was not disappointed. Marlena took very good care of me and made the process painless and easy. I probably can't leave the details in a Yelp review, but she previously impressed me with her business ethics the first time I was shopping for mortgages. If you are looking for someone to trust then you can trust Marlena. I wanted to meet with her on the refinance since I previously went with someone else, and she provided the lowest rate and fees I could find. If you are looking for a mortgage I would highly recommend going in to speak with her. read more

My husband and I had an exceptional experience working with Jason Russell and his team. We purchased a home that was a short sale, with a closing date shorter than the norm (per seller lender request). Jason was able to meet the deadline and we got the keys to our home. The one thing we truly appreciated was Jason's communication. He answered questions very quickly. He communicated through email, texting, and phone. Never appeared to be too busy for chat and took his time to give thorough explanations about the process. Furthermore, he used language that was easy to understand for the average person. When we buy in the future we will definitely use Jason and/or Vitek again. read more

Eric Riley with Vitek Mortgage is my lender of choice. We just closed escrow on a loan that I wasn't sure would make it, but his tenacity helped make it happen. Eric stayed in constant communication with all parties during the process, which is much appreciated. He is the kind of professional that you don't find so much these days. I have to agree with everything the previous review stated. I was forced to apply to this so called bank because the seller's real estate agent required it. The seller's agent claimed that my prequailified home loan letters from Wells Fargo Bank and USAA Bank were suspect. I have owned two homes previously and have never missed a house payment. I lost out on the house because this bank. They wanted twice the documentation than Wells Fargo and USAA Bank required for their prequal letter. They even asked for docuemntation that I have never had to provide for home loans or bsuiness loans. They do not know how to respond to emails or return phone calls. There is something wrong when you have to get pre approved by the seller's bank of choice to buy a house. There has to be some kind of benifit for the selling agent when they demand that people use this bank. If you read Vitek's ONLY 5 star review, its from a real estate agent, not even a customer. It's total hype. Her review is the kind of review tht Yelp should not allow. read more

AMAZING! Team Lee is hands down the BEST lender in Sacramento and beyond. As a real estate agent, I have worked with many lenders - and I can honestly say, Team Lee brings a level of expertise, communication and efficiency that is head and shoulders above the competition! From a consumer's opinion, this company was promising to work with. My broker was pleasant to work with ... until she totally stopped returning phone calls or responding to emails. Customer service is not the best. We had an appointment to speak to Luke around 9:30. Luke never called, when I called I was told he was busy and our appointment was moved " he will give you a call soon" I was told but soon must mean never at Vitelli because that was when I spoke to mr.luke. So they connected me to Eric, a kind man, but unfortunately also a disappointment. I'm guessing if you approach Vitek with a low score and needing work, they shun you off like a walking dead zombie. I wonder if FHA and rural development is aware of the way the grossly mistreat the low income. No way I would have paid $1,435 for someone pretending to work on my file. I don't recommend this place if you are looking to utilize an FHA, rural usda nor a VA loan. read more

Here's the rest of the story: I went over Alan Wackman's head to the Vice President of the company and at least got a man willing to listen. But that was essentially it. No admission of wrong-doing. No apology. Only a vague assurance that they would "support" my appeal to the county assessor's office. My appeal went through without Vitek's "support" and with the exception of the 2 year time frame and 2500.00 in lawyer's fees, I got the results I wanted. Thanks Vitek! For nothing. read more
