Great place to take in some local (and remote) talent. The Guild Hall is a little event space in the middle of Porter Creek that was the recent recipient of a well deserved upgrade. Came here last week to take in a comedy show and it was a blast. It's not super large which is nice as it feels like you have a more personalized performance. If comedy is not your thing, they also do plays, music and other live performances for you to enjoy. I did find their website is a little out of date so do check their facebook page as well to see what is going on. The only shame is I lived in the same block for 15 years and never attended a single event, now that I no longer live there I finally give this place a try. read more

Thanks to an upcoming $648,000 face lift, the Guild Hall will be looking like a million bucks by March 2011. Great! I remember going here with my Dad when I was a lil rugrat. I saw so many different plays over the years. Some went way over my head, and others were pretty dull requiring deep thought. But I am a better person today because of it. Glad to hear this institution is still going strong. Bravo! read more
