True traditional Brazilian jiujitsu! Great jiujitsu, multiple classes a week, clean mats and good vibes.

After being a member here for almost 2 years I have decided to update my review…read more I left because I feel like I have outgrown this gym. The coaches that I liked no longer work there so there was no need for me to be there anymore... I have found a new Muay Thai gym that I am very happy with, and that has also inspired me to update my review. My review for the coaches is specifically for the Adult Muay Thai program. Reasons for Stars: Front Desk: The front desk staff member is amazing. She will definitely make you smile no matter what. Prices: They are cheaper than most other gyms, especially if you start taking private classes. Coaches that are not mentioned below: They have coaches that are great, funny, and helpful and will give you a good workout. Members: The members that go there are pretty great and fun to talk to. No one is there to win a belt and they are very respectful fighters. I've been to other gyms where I have been terrified to spar people or partner with someone because I am worried that they will knock me out. No big egos here, except maybe some of the coaches. Reasons for Lost stars: Coaches: There are certain coaches there that have very bad attitudes. They are either in a bad mood and like to show it or just feel like insulting you for no reason. There is A LOT I can say about certain coaches, but I won't go on for sake of length. There are other coaches that are very talented in Muay Thai fighting, but as instructors, talk WAY too much and don't let you actually get a work out because they spend the whole time talking. Classes and class schedules: The advanced class is from 7-8:30 which is kinda late for someone that works really early in the morning. There are also a lot of beginners that jump in the advanced class that shouldn't be there. It happens a lot. I can't blame them though because the only other class in the evening is at 5:00 which is the beginner and its hard to get to. They also don't do enough sparring in my opinion. They said they were going to start sparring classes on Thursday nights but that didn't seem to happen. Cancellation: I got charged a 1 month cancelation fee instead of just having a membership for an extra 30 day once I gave notice. The owner said "The 30 day notice a.k.a. A one month cancellation fee is always scheduled for the day the account officially closes" and tried to argue that the cancelation fee and the 30 day notice are the same exact thing... In my history at every single gym I've ever been to, you give a 30 day notice, and you either roll over to another pay period but during that 30 days you have access to the gym. A 30 day notice and a cancellation fee are NOT the same. So expect a fee when you cancel, not just giving a notice...If you want the words exactly from their contract it says "If you have fulfilled the "initial period" of your membership contract, and your membership is currently month-to-month, only a 30 days notice applies as a membership cancellation (one month cancellation)." So take the BS statement with a grain of salt as well... If they would have told me flat out that I would have had a cancellation fee, and not try to be sneaky with their wording then I wouldn't have been as upset. Reasons I've outgrown: I don't think this gym does enough sparring. I also don't think there are enough women at the gym to spar with. The master coach is not in town a lot so its hard to get a fight if you are not one of the coaches. Personally, I think it's a good starter gym, but if you want to grow beyond that I am not really sure if its possible. But who knows. To each their own.

My girlfriends and I had to absolute best time at a private self-defense class at Apex! The team…read morewas so nice, fun, communicative, and we learned a lot. We will be going back and I'd love to try a kick boxing class as well.

As I was donating my time to Columbine…read moreWrestling Program summer '25, Factory X spent the time to have Mine's wrestlers and coaches mess with my life. The willingness to sabotage donated time is perfect description of the level of integrity the leadership of this gym has. I highly recommend you spend less than $200 a month, and go somewhere else. my previous review is under 'Emily A.'

This gym recently announced a financial program to help struggling individuals, and requested…read moredonations. As someone who asked for leniency in a time of struggle, I'd like share my upsetting experience. While attending this gym, I was struggling through abuse from men. I was also struggling to make ends meet, and I just wanted a place to put my head down and work. I was not left alone. Multiple fighters at this gym mocked and made fun of me in front of other members at this gym. I heavily avoided interaction. While sitting in my car on the side of the freeway, I texted and asked; "Could I possibly pause billing and attending for a two week period and then resume?" The response from the gym owner was; "Our system doesn't hold for less than a month." Luckily, God provided and my ex boyfriend offered to pay $200 for me to keep training. (That's the monthly rate.) I will provide a screenshot of this conversation. I asked in person to a kind instructor, and he told me that sounded very reasonable. There are a couple people at this gym that are genuine. After leaving a comment on a recent instagram post relating to this GuardianGym, I was contacted by the owner. (This post was requesting donations for those struggling financially.) She attempted to apologize, and in the same breath she asked for the deletion of my comment. Also while apologizing, she was attempting to blame and deflect the responsibility that she denied my request for a freeze. She then deleted my comment herself. This inspired me to share my experience. I want to add that in the screenshot she asked for me to add my card on file. I added my card. As seen, she later reached out to me to say "my card" was declining. She was instead attempting to charge my ex boyfriend's card, as mine ended in 3899. When opportunity to be rude presented itself, it was taken. I also experienced rude interactions with her daughter who is the 'pretty blonde girl' who works the front desk referenced in an honest review below.

I've witnessed more positive transformations under Jameson compared to other fitness programs. And admittedly, I'm sort of a gym rat. People of all fitness levels and ages who join and stick with Jameson improve, including weight loss, increased muscle definition, and even a Golden Gloves championship title. Personally, my endurance significantly increased, and I've learned technique, accuracy, and finesse are more potent than brut force. McBoxing programs and even other authentic boxing gyms with solid coaches don't compare to the attention to detail and supportive community you'll find here. It's a challenging workout that Jameson tailors to your fitness level, no matter where you are in your journey. He'll push you beyond what you think you can do, and you'll surprise yourself at what you are really capable of achieving. Trust me, you'll see results and have fun on the journey.

Plus I got an amazing workout and felt so accomplished with just this one class. I wish I lived local so I could add these classes to my workout regimen, and thanks to Jameson will be looking for somewhere to take classes at home. If you're hesitant or worried that you're not in shape to get started, push that worry to the side and just give it a try. Jameson is sure to convert you.
