My family was in need of a new tax return preparer. Sherwood Tax Solutions proved to be the perfect replacement. Carrie and Cyndi understood our anxiety. Sadly disappointed with this business. The owner Arlene does not respond to e-mails or phone…read morecalls. Her staff actually prepare the tax returns and Arlene reviews them. So the money being paid is not for her actual work or expertise but the clerical help. Had I known this upfront, I would not have used this business. The worst part, three weeks after giving them our information we did not hear until April 15th at 9 pm. Arlene calls and tells us we owe more than 10,000. We originally chose this company as Arlene stated she had experience doing taxes for expats. It is appalling to wait till the due date and then spring this large amount on someone. The good news is we took an extension and had another tax preparer take a look and ended up getting a refund. Stay away from this business if you want your taxes done on a timely basis, done right and by someone professional.

I was surprised with the cost of doing our taxes at a big establishment and I wasn't going to make the same mistake again. He was professional, friendly and most importantly, very efficient. I asked questions, sent messages got no reply. Weeks went by and I thought maybe he was just very busy. However I did not even get a message stating that. I didnt want to wait any longer because deadline was approaching. Now I worry about my personal information because its not very trustworthy to just ghost someone after getting all of that. I said how I didnt feel comfortable sending that but he made it seem like I had to fill out the intake form for the portal to be created.. without his response of any kind after some time I really dont feel confident that my information is safe. I have gone to the portal and deleted all that, but unfortunately I can not delete the intake form that was sent :( Definitely not the professional way it should have been handled on his end. I filed my own taxes before it was too late and hopefully that he sees this and deletes any other personal info for my peace of mind. Then I will take my review down

They've always been very accommodating and super quick to respond to all of our questions. Since we hired them for the first time, there has been a lot of changes to the tax law, and Larry has always been great at informing us of any changes and educating us about any updates. With COVID-19 and the new extension dates, Laborde & Associate made sure we could stay safe at home while processing all of our taxes. Of course there has been some hiccups down the road, but I think this is a learning curve for everyone. I definitely recommend Laborde & Associate to everyone! Larry is a very charming person and I am sure you will love to work with him.
