It's almost a warehouse of used books. In the middle of summer, this place gets hot as there's no ac or air circulation. Browsing title after title while drenched in sweat gets a bit too much, so I didn't stay in as long as I had hoped to. This book shop has a bit of everything but mostly religion, gardening, and education books. We didn't find Stephen King or other authors we enjoy but I did find some Marvel comics and a Far Side comic for $3 each...not a bad deal at all considering the Thor comics were in mint condition. Overall, this is a good used book store that may have something for you that you wouldn't have expected. Just go when the weather is cooler a d you'll have an enjoyable time.

The store is so filled with books and stacks upon stacks of books that it is quite cramped. Behind the stacks sits the owner who knows exactly what and where everything is. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and will happily show you to the area that suits what you are looking for. I never would have been able to navigate the store without him. If you are looking for something old and rare, this is definitely the right place to visit. The absolute best part of the store for me was that I was greeted by a sweet big dog upon entering. A voice did ring out from behind the books as soon as I entered alerting me that a big dog was on the way to greet me. I was so excited! I even got to pet him! Naturally, the big sweet boy is named Watson. He was an absolute joy.

I had recently changed majors and had a lot of textbooks to sell…read more I took my textbooks, as well as other educational books (For Dummies, pleasure reads, informative, etc.), to TB and McKay's to get a quote from both so I could get the most $$ for my books. McKays bought most of my 'non-textbooks' where as TB won't buy them. But for all those 'non-textbooks' plus the textbooks they offered me about $30. For just a handful of textbooks, so excluding all the 'non-textbooks', TB paid me $45. So, long story short, TB will pay more $$ for textbooks than McKay's but McKay's will buy things that TB will not. P.S. After selling my books the man at the counter GAVE me scantrons and told me the binders at the front of the store (huge totes of them) were free. He said "we just like helping students." and it shows:)

Scuppernong Books is an independent bookstore in Downtown Greensboro. It is located inside a…read morebuilding built in 1898. The building served as a feed-and-seed store, a record store and a used-appliance store. The bookstore opened in 2013, and its extensive renovation preserved the exposed brick walls and the high pressed-tin ceilings. They added hand-carved bookcases. The walls are olive green, and the original windows let in plenty of natural light. The store was named after the scuppernong grape, the North Carolina state fruit. The store's "fox and grape" motif, visible on its signs and literature, is also a nod to Aesop's fables. The bookstore is cozy and welcoming, with areas to lounge and even a seating bar at the front of the store. The bookstore carries new and used books, with a good variety. You will find banned books and many about social justice. The store has stood up to censorship. The genres are clearly marked, and it is easy to browse and shop. They even have staff picks with reviews. I like that North Carolina authors are featured. The store partners with other local businesses. The cafe has coffees, teas, wines and craft beers. They have pastries from Loaf Bakery and Swedebread. The sandwiches are from Jerusalem Market. The specialty teas come from Vida Pour Tea. Service here is welcoming, helpful and low-pressure. They let you browse without following you around so you can take your time and explore. I highly recommend visiting Scuppernogg Books if you are looking for a local business to support or just like visiting old buildings. In the digital age, it is so nice to connect with others and actually browse the shelf to find my next read. I loved the banned books, as I am always curious as to what they don't want me reading.

Not only can books be purchased in store which is my favorite way you're also able to go online and order for pickup or to your door. They have new , used , for children , adults , herbalism , fantasy ... you name it. There's seating near the coffee bar. Honestly I really love Barnes & Noble and this location is no different. You can always get books…read morecheaper on Amazon but I love supporting actual bookstores & I want them to stick around. This location has a great selection and parking is really easy. I have the premium membership which is a little pricey but i buy books so often, it makes it worth it because I've gotten so much money back in rewards. They're open until 9 which is really nice because some local bookstores close earlier. It's a nice place to go browse books and find unique covers or books with sprayed edges. They also have so many board games so it's fun to come pick out a few games for a game/date night. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because almost every time I've been in here, the customer service has been mediocre. Unfortunately if you go in an hour or so before closing, the employees will rush you and remind you that they're closing. I've also heard employees loudly complaining about other customers there which I think is unprofessional. This isn't my favorite location just because of the customer service but I'll still continue to support it (and other local bookstores) because they have a great selection and I love shopping in an actual bookstores
