There was ample parking in the lot, which was adjacent to the building. Ambiance: The property made me feel like I was somewhere safe and country.. there was barn in the background of some of the pictures we took outdoors. The background of the pictures left a beautiful, summer , old school and soft feel to the pix. In doors, it was a large space and had in door balcony feel, which was the 2nd floor. The bride came from around that way. Double doors up stairs and downstairs, a lot of space for seating. It was the perfect place to have a wedding. There is a kitchen on site; restrooms were clean, but small.

The address given is St. Patrick's. St. James' is a few blocks south and east. I think that parish…read moreoffices are in the old rectory at St. Pat's, though, built to house six priests but now housing one. The two parishes have been combined due to Catholics moving out of town, going mega-church, or losing their faith. One kindly, earnest, overworked, and I suspect holy ex-military priest mans both churches. Pray for him. St. Patrick's has an impressive exterior but the interior was gang-raped by iconoclasts in the Seventies: the reredos was ripped out and the very very extensive murals painted over, insulting the impoverished Catholics who scraped together their pennies to pay for this church early in the twentieth century. God forgive me, but I want the evil self-important devil-worshipping sods responsible to... suffer for a very very long time in Purgatory for their sinful pride. A new reredos probably salvaged from a demolished church has replaced the Jesus-on-a-swing hanging modernist crucifix-substitute and hideous cloth banners that long defiled the place, and though the murals are likely lost forever, there is some clever decorative paint and faux-marble work. The reredos is just a tad short and squat and doesn't quite fit, but in some ways it's fancier than the original was. St. James still has the original reredos but there are some niches with missing statues. No clue why. Both churches of the combined parish seem to have competent and dedicated musicians -- for all I know, some serve both. God bless 'em.
