Our hotel room itself…read morewas very comfortable, featuring a large shower and a beautiful soaking tub, which we really enjoyed. One downside, however, was that the walls were quite thin--you could clearly hear the comings and goings of people outside, which made it less relaxing at times.
A positive was that room service was available until about 2:00 a.m., which was very convenient. The resort advertised six restaurants, but unfortunately, every night one of them was closed with no clear communication about which one. Because of this, we missed out on dining at one restaurant we were hoping to try on our last night, which was disappointing.
Upon arrival, we were asked if we were celebrating anything special and mentioned that it was our honeymoon. The staff did put up a nice banner and provided champagne, which was a thoughtful touch. However, we were told a special dinner was being arranged for us, and when we arrived, there was nothing different or special done, which was a letdown.
The pool area was nice, and the swim-up bar was a fun feature, but it closed at 5:00 p.m. I really wish it had stayed open until at least sunset. As for the food, it was decent across the restaurants--most places felt like about a 3 out of 5 stars.
One standout experience was an excursion we booked through the hotel to visit four different cenotes. It was absolutely worth the money and included transportation, snacks, drinks, and a full day exploring the cenotes. Highly recommend this experience.
The beach itself was very clean, but swimming in the ocean was difficult due to the number of rocks. On a positive note, we felt very safe during our stay--the hotel was secure and had visible security measures when entering and exiting the property.
Overall, a decent resort with some great amenities and experiences, but better communication and follow-through on special occasions would really improve the guest experience.
