Free tickets to see a movie thanks to Queens Elite Andie! Thank you! Hubby and I got a special date…read morenight thanks to you! We have not been to this theater in years even though we see it each time we go to BJ's. Grateful it was open even after the major storm yesterday. Yes the theater was empty so that was nice for us. Hubby bought a bucket of popcorn because he loves movie theater popcorn. We usually "share" but it was way too salty for me. I know I have less tolerance for salt than most but I still thought it was too much salt, even for the average person. We had tickets to the IMAX 3D, we have not seen a 3D movie in a while and truth be told, the movie we saw wasn't elevated because of the 3D, I would not have been happy if I had paid for that upgrade. I guess that is more of a review on the movie than the theater. The one complaint I do have is that apparently the IMAX theaters do not have reclining seats. Instead, the seats rock back-and-forth unless you are in the last row of the bottom section which leans against the rail, then it doesn't move at all. The seats did look new, which was nice since we were used to going to the theaters at the Broadway mall before they shut down. I guess that's why they never invested in upkeep of the seats. All in all, I gave four stars because they were open on a day where everyone else had a snow day, the theater was clean, and the seats felt new. Hubby and I may have to start coming here now, especially since the theater at the Broadway mall is now closed. Just wish the popcorn was less salty...

Both popcorn and coke were Good for sharing for two. It was a bit pricy though like $10 for the drink and like $20 for the popcorn. The seats were pretty comfy although not able to recline back.

I've been coming a lot to this theater in the past few months since becoming an A-List member. Love…read morethat they have dolby, their theaters are clean, and their seats are recliners. Their popcorn is fine, definitely use the butter pumps and salt shakers to get it right. And all their soda machines are freestyle so no shortage of choice on drinks. I want to add that I've had their chicken tenders on one occasion and they are a total sleeper, like they are really good for being theater tenders and I've never heard anyone sing its praises so I will. Their fries are those good ones too with some skin on. I've also never had issue with the workers, they are actually all so nice here and very helpful. Always glad to see another movie here.

After sitting around waiting for 30 minutes, we are told "the movie isn't working and will not be shown today". But they said they will NOT be reimbursing us!!!!! The gave us movie passes. I explained to them we came from out of area and rarely go to movies and they couldn't help me. I have NEVER experienced customer service like this before. Employee was extremely rude and not helpful and I will never come back here. And we are out all this money for nothing. I wanted to update: I emailed corporate and they reimbursed me. I find it very sad that the theater could not just do this.

You'll receive a $5 reward with every $50 spent and never pay ticketing fees for purchasing tickets on their website. On Bargain Tuesdays, movie tickets are $5. It is such a great deal! On a Tuesday, I went to see The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at Showcase Cinema de Lux Farmingdale in Aud 14. There is plenty of parking at Showcase Cinema de Lux Farmingdale. I walked in and the staff scanned my ticket. At the concessions stand, I purchased a small popcorn for $9.56. My husband got nachos. Auditorium 14 has powered, customizable fully reclining seats. However, when I finally did see the movie, the theater was filthy. We were in theater 8 and they did not clean the theater from the previous showing. There was popcorn all over the seats. The man sitting next to me had mustard in his cupholder. It was awful. During some of the trailers the sound was muffled or sounded like it was underwater so I ended up with a headache before the movie even started. Overall the ease of changing my ticket was great, but I would not be back. I have never been to a movie theater where it was not cleaned in between screenings before and I pray that will be my last.

Transfer to the E or F train, go the entire length of the Q46 bus, walk a mile in the cold, then see the Bruce movie in a theater in a basement of an apartment complex. It's the day after Thanksgiving, but we have to leave soon since it's only playing at 5. Sounds simple, right? The North Shore Towers Cinema is so obscure that I never went there during my Queens years. But that the glorious era of the Utopia and Bayside theaters before AMC destroyed the locals, prior to suffering its own injuries in streaming times. (No I didn't consume chocolate egg creams on Ave. U and never saw the Brooklyn Dodgers but I do miss the old bagel place on Union Tpke.) I did check the theater out once to see Richard Gere's Time Out Of Mind. The frequent chatter was above Times Square levels. Yeah, I could have asked for a refund but I was here because it wasn't playing anywhere else. This time, the noise wasn't non-zero but it was far better than before. And after a hallway here and an elevator there, you may be surprised by this giant single-screen theater. Important for a movie about Springsteen, there was very good sound quality too, (minor spoiler ahead) helping to delineate the difference between an amateurish home recording and a rousing rehearsal of Born in the USA. The staff was friendly. Full disclosure/geography note: I am a public-transit advocate but it was a bit more convenient on a winter day to take Lyft from Little Neck. Express buses run to North Shore Towers but that only helps from Midtown. I have no insight about the on-site restaurants. There's nothing else in the immediate vicinity but if you're up for 29-minute walks or Lyft there are good options on Union Tpke., Northern Blvd. and Hillside Ave.

The theater is attached to the mall, but there is no inside entrance, so you'll have to go outside in the cold to reenter the lobby from the parking lot. There is plenty of parking, however. With 8 separate theaters, you're bound to find a movie genre you'll like from action/adventures to rom-coms. Being an AMC Stubs Rewards member has good benefits, though. You can buy your tickets on the app with processing fees waived and matinée tickets (usually before 2pm) are discounted 20%. Plus you get 5% rebate reward to use for future movies. You also get free popcorn refills and a free drink in your birthday month. The annual fee is $5, but I recoup that after seeing one movie. Yes, you are locked into one theater chain, but they are national and always showing big studio blockbuster movies, as well as some short run art house or anime movies. For a recent outing, we saw "Avatar: Fire & Ash" at the first morning showing at 9am. We split a large popcorn bucket and I got my large birthday soda. During the previews, I ran back out to refill the popcorn because it was going to be a long 3.25 hr movie. The soda may have been a mistake, as it was 3.25 hrs until the next rest room break. ::squirm:: Pro Tip: Before or after the movie, we usually like to go grab a bite at the mall food court or at one of the many restaurants on the mall perimeter or along Old Country Rd.
