Had a "La Chilanga" torta, which came with chorizo, milanesa, and ham. The jalapeño sauce and creamy chipotle sauce that came with it enhanced the flavor. Had a horchata that wash it down, which was lighter than I expected (I believe they used coconut water). They had a ice cream Sunday special when I ate there, so I got a free scoop of ice-cream after my meal (The chocolate was very chocolately ). The appetizer (chips and chiptole beans) was very delicious. The server was very nice and friendly with us, which made us feel invited. Meanwhile, the decor had an old-fashion car garage diner theme which really popped and made the experience so much better. Grub Garage was a pretty cool spot. I went with the Milanesa torta, and it was really good. The presentation was on point too--you can tell they put some effort into how the food comes out instead of just throwing it on a plate. The place itself has both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can pick whatever vibe you're feeling. We actually rode our bikes over, and I really appreciated how accommodating they were about letting us bring our bikes inside. That made the whole experience a lot easier. Good food, cool atmosphere, and friendly, accommodating service. Super interesting decor that will appeal to gear-heads but aside from that, this place is serving up tasty tortas. I ordered a basic torta because if a restaurant cant nail a basic dish, why try the rest. The milanesa torta was flavorful with a perfect toast on the bread. Excellent portions of cheese, delicious creamy beans, and nicely finished with avocados. It was served with a green salsa that is full of flavors, with poblano pepper notes that kept me eating it. It could have used more heat but that's just a personal preference. The staff was kind, super helpful and pleasant. Very clean establishment. Floors underneath booth were very clean which is not the case for many restaurants. Will be visiting again soon to try their breakfast meals. read more

I've driven by this place many times and it always looked closed, so I decided to finally stop in today and give it a try. Unfortunately, my first experience wasn't a good one. I walked in with a friend and there were only about four people inside. One server was behind the bar doing something, which I understand, but even though she saw us, she didn't acknowledge us. Then another server came out from what looked like the back bringing and order, also saw us, and didn't acknowledge us either. We waited a bit longer after both had clearly seen us, but still nothing, so we decided to leave. Came here with the wife to try them out after seeing an Instagram video someone made if them, it looked like a fun spot so we came. And it was, the ambiance was great, very garage style with automotive memorabilia and industrial stylings. Really enjoyed the Mustang rear end both we sat in, gave a nice retro feel. The service was great, we came midday on a Tuesday so it was pretty slow, I think they just opened. Staff was still light but once we were greeted and seated everything was perfect and staff was plenty attentive. The food was delicious, we split a Grub Garage Special hot dog, a Chilanga torta and 3 empanadas and everything was great. Flavorful and cooked well. Would recommend this place and we will be back. I live nearby this place and I drive past it every time. Today, I decided to stop by with my dad and we didn't really know what to expect but I'm glad we came! The server who attended us seemed a bit shy, it seemed like it was his first time as a server but it's okay because he still got our orders right and was very friendly and checked up on us to ask if we needed anything else which was nice. The server brought us chips and salsa and our drinks very fast. My dad and I ordered tortas, he got the Oaxaqueña torta and I got the Toulqueña. We didn't have to wait too long, about 15 mins for our food to arrive. When it arrived, it was piping hot and fresh! The tortas are big and were definitely filling! The reason why I had an issue with this place was because they asked me to put my card information into their phone. I asked if their card reader worked she said yes but she insisted I enter my card information into her phone.
