I started using GrowinGreen in the summer of 2021 after hundreds of dollars spent trying to fight the Bermuda "gangster" grass that took over my once gorgeous fescue lawn. They were the third company I've use. The others, I swear, brought more weeds to my yard than I had before the start. In 2021 I decided I was going to kill my entire lawn and start over. I started spraying my yard with a commercial grass killer and even purchased a machine that would scrape the ground, cut up and vacuum the roots. Mind you, I work 10 hour shifts and this was kicking my ass. After a few weeks of doing it my way I reached out for help a someone recommended GrowinGreen. I called them up, a rep came out a set up a plan for my lawn. They are reasonably priced and do a fantastic job. My lawn looks a million times better! I highly recommend!!! read more

Do not use. They severely damaged our invisible fence and did not offer any reimbursement for their damage. $288 spent for their mistake with no offer of apology or assistance. Go with another vendor who cares about doing the right thing. read more

I contracted growin green for a small yard in Davidson. The service was fine until they came to aerate the yard. Damage was done to the concrete walkway which admittedly is small and I was willing to overlook however the damage to the side of my garage was unacceptable. I would have appreciated it if they had told me the property was damaged during service. I have since called and cancelled service. [As an update to this situation the owner did come out to assess the property. He states the concrete damage is normal and that he personally hits concrete walkways all the time. He denied that his equipment could have damaged the side of the house. After becoming argumentative he was asked to leave the property.] read more

GrowinGreen is a top notch local company that does excellent work. We tried to grow fescue in our lawn for 10 years to no avail. I finally decided to call in the professionals. The company owner himself came by to view our lawn. Based on soil & the sun light received by our lawn, he recommended we try Bermuda grass. He showed pix of his work in the community. We agreed with his assessment & he formulated a personal step by step plan. He killed the weeds & what little grass we had left. Later he seeded with what he called a blend of bermuda seed & suggested we keep wet for a couple of weeks. The natural rain we had in May was perfect. The grass filled in all spots. No more dirt spots. We were amazed. He later added fertilizer to promote growth. My son asked me to tell GG we didn't need an additional application of fertilizer since it was growing so thick & fast. You see, my 16 year old son cuts our lawn to earn $ & it was giving him a work out. We are now 2 months in & our lawn looks great. My son continues to complain about mowing, but our neighbors with fescue are struggling with the dry hot humid temps. Some may require major work to replace portions of their lawn in the fall. We have been with Growing Green for a few years, I used a competitor for quite a few years prior and when that competitor was purchased by a large company I decided to give it a go myself. That took only 1 season for me to realize that if I wanted a nice lawn I would need help. I contacted Growing Green as well as a few competitors, Growing Green was very responsive and returned a quote to me quickly. I decided to go with Growing Green and my lawn has been greener and plusher than ever before. It is easy to highly rate a company when everything is going well, although I did have a small situation with Growing Green, it was a communication break down. Long Story short is I had originally agreed to have them aerate and seed my lawn, this was not something I had ever done with previous companies ( I always did the seeding myself). I reconsidered well prior to the scheduled date and emailed my sales guy. I never really gave it much thought after that until I came home and the work had been done. since I had cancelled (or thought I had) my yard was not properly prepared for the service. I immediately contacted them and questioned it. I was told they would look into it, Jonathan the owner got involved and saw that I had requested the service be cancelled well in advance of the service date. Jonathan provided a solution that I was satisfied with and was reasonable for both parties. I am still a customer and plan to be on going. Growing Green is a local company that knows what they are doing, based on my experience they will stand behind their work and will do whats right if mistakes or break downs in communication are made. We've been using GrowinGreen for almost a year now and I'm continually impressed with their service - so much so that we've added caring for our front yard to our contract. Thomas is always super friendly and I really appreciate that they call a day in advance to let you know they are coming for one of the scheduled treatments. More than once they have scheduled extra visits at no cost to us because of concerns regarding insects, brown or thin spots. I used Growin Green for 2 years. I had most of the services they offer and the 2nd spring, my yard looked good. So I signed up for the next year (PRE-PAID). As summer came I noticed more weeds and the grass didn't stay full. Bermuda grass started popping up everywhere and the back yard became a mud puddle as the grass started dying. I tried to discuss with the tech but as previous reviews have stated, the arrogance was startling. I was scheduled for aeration and seeding but told him that I didn't want it done until we could determine a way to make the yard right. I was willing to spend more. I asked him to give me a plan. Lots of egos in this place. There are better services with better pricing and a lot less ego. The thing that grows best at Growing Green is peoples arrogant attitudes and fungus or weeks on your lawn due to lack of integrity of job. We sat in the house watching how careless a job they did. While the monthly weed and feed services have been great, the fall seedings aren't as advertised. Last fall I bought into the "you get what you pay for" advertising hook and paid GrowinGreen more than competitors to overseed my lawn. The results were not good. I watered and did my part. I have some trouble spots, most notably a slope or bank and a couple large flat areas near my driveway. In the past, I've never had trouble getting fescue grass to grow in these areas, I've just had trouble getting it to live past August. I would always seed with new fescue and it would die out the following year but at least I had grass there approx 10 months out of the year. I was assured this problem could be fixed. They analyzed my soil and did monthly treatments that did a good job. Unfortunately, no new grass on the seeding. The nice gentleman in charge of my yard did come out last year and patch things up with a ryegrass blend which did help but anyone can make ryegrass grow. Once again, GrowinGreen stayed behind their seeding and gave me a free seeding this year. That's great and that's what businesses should do. I applaud them but once again very little new grass after two weeks of good rain and sun. The trouble spots have a few blades of grass in the plug hole every few feet apart but mostly bare. In comparison, I've maintained my back yard and new fescue is doing great. So before the weekend rain comes, I plan on taking care of this myself. Everyone there has been nice to me which makes calling to complain about the seedings more difficult. I called yesterday to inform of my cancellation of all future services. read more

I discontinued services with this company after the 2016 season. Started off pretty well but went downhill fast. My yard which had always been pristine with a good stand of tall fescue has little resemblance of what it once was. They must have mixed in some funky seed or maybe it was their scheduling of things. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to here. I reached out to them on multiple occasions with my concerns and they were not responsive. I never leave reviews, but the appalling customer service today prompted me to take the time-- If I could give a zero stars I would. I have a mulch bed pre-emergent program because they are the only company I found that offers this, and after the first treatment early spring, I noticed some improvement vs the prior year, but not a very even improvement (some areas had a few weeds here and there while other areas had repeated emergence of crab grass and other annoying weeds, even while I did weekly weeding). Based on that, I requested to be contacted in advance of the next treatment so that I could supervise the application. When I checked in a month ago, the nice woman operator said that I was scheduled for an application the end of that month (within a week or so). A month passed since then, and I checked in again yesterday, and she said that she would contact my technician, Rodney, to see when he could come out, as she mentioned again that I had been on the schedule for needing a treatment the prior month. He said he'd be out the next week and would call the day of. Today, I look outside to see the truck parked outside my house (my home office looks right out to the road), with him inside, with no phone call of notice. A few minutes go by, with not even a doorbell ring or call, I see he's no longer in the truck, so I go outside. He says he'd treated over half the mulch beds by then (we have very extensive mulch beds around the house, so I was skeptical of how much coverage he had done at that point). When I mentioned not getting a call, because I wanted to supervise the application, he said that he was 'doing me a favor' by coming early and "do I see any weeds?" to which I replied honestly, that I'd been "weeding my ass off all summer" so that was no indication to the quality of the previous treatment or giving me peace of mind to not want to supervise the thorough application of this treatment. After that comment, he got hostile and defensive and said I was "cursing at him" (from the "weeding my ass off" comment) and that he had the right to refuse service and never come back again. He pointed out the treatment granules in some areas by the front, but refused when I asked him to show me where he treated in the back of the house. This could all have been avoided had he given me a call or even rang the doorbell when he arrived, as I simply wanted to ensure no beds were skipped. Instead, he got hostile, defensive, and threatening-- which would be easily intimidating to a smaller, pregnant woman such as myself coming from an older, larger, male, but he obviously had no sense of customer service or even common decorum. He also tried to claim that I was not a month overdue for service and that the woman I had spoken with was "new". At this point, I'm not sure if I'll even receive the remainder of my pre-paid service considering he is the only technician assigned to my area; I'm hoping GrowinGreen can step up and resolve this and provide a different technician to complete these treatments, but we'll see. Side note: I also used to use them for grass treatments as well until I got fed up with their poor scheduling/communication of treatments. read more

GrowinGreen has been servicing my yard for one-year. The service has been kind, considerate and exceptionally valuable - especially given the difficult clay base that they have to work with here. When a new issue arose with a tree - I showed the technician and while he could not answer my question on the spot...he found an expert who could. Not only was the follow-up informative - they explained what I could do to keep the salvation of this tree reasonable. Great people, Great service! read more
