My 8 year old daughter takes music theory and violin lessons here. She's learning quite fast and…read morereally enjoys the lessons. Her violin instructor Ms. Nora is extremely patient and nice. Instrument lessons are all one on one. Music theory is group classes, but the instructor teaches each child individually in that class. They also offer dance and art classes. Missed classes/lessons are rolled over, the owners are great about helping busy parents with their schedules.

Not sure how they are with music or their other programs but their are was not the greatest. During…read morethe trial class my daughters did amazing. I was impressed. Signed them up for an 8 week session (classes started Sept 5) person in charge told me they can start on the 12 bc they asked when they can start. 8 weeks from Sept 12 is up to October 31st. My girls missed 2 classes bc they were sick and not once did they say there were make up sessions available. Lady then texts me if the girls are attending on the 31st of October. Being that it's Halloween I said no. She offered a makeup session and I accepted for Nov. 2nd. She then sends me an invoice for the next session which I didn't sign up for. She explained 'if I wanted to sign up that would be the price' Today I get a message stating that if I don't wish to continue, the girls don't need to come in on the 2nd bc the new session starts on the 31st. The communication is terrible and the art done is something I could do at home. My review is solely based on my personal experience. Other can differ.

Two music schools that you should avoid is Eastern Music School and Seoul Music Academy. It is run…read moreby a married couple who are both rude and money hungry. When we first registered, there was no policy regarding makeup classes. Nothing was written even in the invoice. Therefore, we thought makeup classes was a given for sure. Then not long after we registered, the academy was closed due to a snow storm. When I called the school the reassured me that they will either push back an extra class or have a lesson rescheduled somehow. However, when I went in and asked again, they said they changed their mingds because a natural disaster isn't their fault. Then is it my fault? Who have I been talking to all this time..? They are not responsible. He also went on and explained if a Wednesday group student comes in on a Saturday group class, the students and mothers feel uncomfortable for having a unfamiliar face in the the class. He said the mothers complain to him right on the spot making him feel cornered. How does this even make sense..? Who in the world gets bothered that much for having another student in their class for one day? The moms in this community all know each other and is rather happy to see each other when meeting unexpectedly. What kind of excuse is he trying to spit up? Please. What nonsense! The owner and teachers are all the same. Low level quality constructors. The ballet classes are all one song one routine for one full year. There is no improvement, and all they do is stretch for the majority of the class. Having students quit in the middle of the semester out of boredom seems to be their goal. The art classes uses a an adult desk and the small students have to stick their necks out to see the teacher. The teacher never is prepared and does the set up after the class starts. She's always drinking coffee and enjoying her paid free time. The art supply fee is ridiculous and usually the class ends up using one lousy construction paper. Therefore, the students are always coming out of the class saying it is so boring. The teacher is also inattentive to the kids , it is obvious she's only trying to waste time as she gets paid. The piano and violin private lesson teachers have been changed about 5 thousand times. Therefore there is never a chance of improvement. Since the teachers are always changing, it caused my child anxiety. The teacher won't even let us makeup the classes through group lessons. He also has severe anger management problems. There was a father who met him for the first time, left saying that man belongs at a hospital. Also, he loves to talk about the other mothers who have quit behind their backs. He especially talked to me the most. He talks about how the child lacks patience and talks smack about the mothers ability in raising children. Since I also quit, I guess he will be talking about me to someone else, right? He just loves to talk smack. Please avoid sending your precious child to this academy. Save your moneys.

It has been over two years at Rhythm and we cannot be any more satisfied with the results. All…read moremusic teachers are talented and excellent to work with - especially with kids. In terms of the curriculum, the common music books are used. The teachers vary depending on the schedule; and many are very exceptional in music background, theory and even with the performing aspects. One difference in how Rhythm differs from many music schools is that they provide music-reading class in a group setting. Initially, it was not something that was expected given that we have explored many other past music schools that did not provide this option. The group class is in addition to the private lessons - a feature that may seem a bit daunting (if you are in a crunch for time), but it turns out, it is VERY beneficial. As a result of the group classes that covers an array of topics in the music theory lessons - my child was more advanced in the public school music classes. It has had helped to serve as a foundation for other music approaches. What a great feature that Rhythm provides! The costs for the lessons already covers this theory class, so in a way, it is a deal. I personally like that there are customized approaches to teaching children. I do not believe a cookie-cutter one sized lesson plan fits all students. Every student has their own way of learning - and thank goodness the Rhythm teachers were very very very attentive in assessing the needs of individual students. I noticed they were able to alter their methodology in order to work on areas of improvement. I think that is an attribute that group music lessons and strict music teachers may not always possess. More importantly, a lot of the instructors make it very fun - so that the students are able to absorb contents more effectively. We are absolutely and completely proud to be a part of such a phenomenal music studio!
