I didn't want one pet, but my dad and daughter seem to run the show. Our second Dog Indy, fairly new to the family less than a year old, but growing massively was hit by a car. Our local clinic said they were not equipped for the surgery he required. When I saw the Xrays my heart broke. WVC quoted us half what other animal hospitals quoted. WE (mostly my dad) have been driving back and forth from Houston to Grove, TX. Every few days to re-dress his bandages and to remove his stitches. Today he's back to his old habits of jumping on me when I ask him not to. My daughter can now stop terrorizing our older dog and wrestle with Indy once again. I'm thankful to the doctor for making our doggie whole again. *I expect to see his bionic powers soon.* Grateful to the staff for being so friendly to us and our fur baby.

She then passed at the animal house due to her liver completely shutting down along with other organs. The website is well done and makes reviewing/updating my dog's info, as well as scheduling appointments, very easy. The email and text reminders of upcoming appointments and healthcare treatments are incredibly helpful and much appreciated! When we come in for our appointments, my spouse and I, and Sophie (our GSD, Belgian "Mali-gator", Carolina Swamp Dog mixed-up pup) are always treated with respect, professionalism, and kindness, as our Sophie is very excitable and overly friendly - a real "a party on paws"! Sophie gets loved on by every staff member she meets, taken care of thoroughly, and she really seems to enjoy going to Bridge City Animal Hospital. Each staff member - from our reception/check-in/out team, to Doc Wendy, to the vet techs who do the puppy wrangling and have to test those fresh "tootsie rolls" we bring in for heartworms - is so friendly, so patient, so knowledgeable, and so awesome we are blown away! In my 65 years I can honestly say that Bridge City Animal Hospital is the best veterinary practice I have ever taken my pets to, and I highly recommend anyone in Orange, Jefferson, Jasper, and Chambers counties who needs veterinary care for their pets to contact Bridge City Animal Hospital. They are "the best in the business"!

Without that plan it's $1100.00. We soon we're told bolt has heartworms!!!!! He has been taking a pill monthly his whole life why was that not a part of the pill???? Southeast tx, someone should of let us know that he wasn't on heartworm medicine 10 years ago!!!! So, we have to do treatment for that which btw WAS NOT IN THE PLAN!!! So they tricked me and I still had to pay almost $400.00 for the heartworm treatment that nearly kills him and we cant finish. So now, after being told that I could be reimbursed if it went this way by the VETERINARIAN (not skinner) the "I'm way to big headed and completely rude" woman that does the billing is refusing to reimburse me!!! She actually offered me a store credit!!! My dogs almost dead and I have moved 100 miles away and I was told I would be reimbursed if this happens and you offer a store credit??? That was a jab in itself. NO COMPASSION FOR HUMANS THATS FOR SURE AND WAY MORE EXPENSIVE THEN ALL THE OTHER VETS IN THE BRIDGE CITY ORANGE AREA!!!!! I really can't believe it but it's true THEY TRICK YOU INTO PAYING FOR THAT HEALTH PLAN AND THEN YOU DON't get anything but more bills!!!!! I'm so glad I will never stop by there office again. VERY SUPER EXTREMELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ER VET CLINIC!!…read moreUnfortunately we have had to go to the emergency vet at crazy hours, nights, weekends, & holidays. We've now brought 4 of our pets and once brought a friend withherdog. Each time we have had the best experiences possible, considering the situations. Snake bite, broken leg when big dog accidentally plowed over tiny dog, cat with pyometra.... Sadly, we found ourselves in need of emergency vet services again. This time it was Abby, our 12 year old bull mastiff/coon hound mix. She had become sick, vomiting, shaking, decreased energy and appetite. So without hesitation, we made the trip from Lumberton to Lake Charles. Dr. Prince was on duty again. We're always comforted and confident with his presence. He did lots of imaging and tests, and spent an extended amount of time with me and my daughter, explaining Abby's diagnosis and prognosis. Lucky for all of us, they were not very busy that night and he had plenty of extra time to explain everything in detail. It appeared she had a mass on her liver, some congestive heart failure from heartworms, and some extremely painful arthritis in her spine. We went home with some medications for pain and for her nausea etc. She felt better for the next week, but unfortunately, that was just temporary. A few weeks later she started going down hill very fast. We took her back to Lake Charles. This time it was the day shift. And we met Dr. Aguilar. He was fantastic! He's soft spoken and kind with a warm soul. He spent a long time talking with us and even cried with us because he had recently lost his dog who had been his long time, constant companion. He was very careful with his words, offering his professional opinion but at the same time, his sincere empathy for our broken hearts. My daughter, who is 19, was the one making the call on if/when it was the right time to let Abby go peacefully, with no more pain or sickness. We had Abby since the day she was born and my daughter was only 7 years old at that time. She can barely remember life before Abby so it was most heart wrenching for her. She wanted to be sure she was making the right decision for Abby. Dr. Prince and Dr. Aguilar were both incredibly informative and caring through this terrible time. I seriously cannot say enough about how much we appreciate them. Also, the vet tech that spent all day with us that day, man I wish I could remember her name. She had kinda shoulder length, black, curly hair. She was an absolute angel. She made that day as comfortable as it could possibly be. After making the decision to have Abby put to sleep, we 1st took her to Starbucks for pup cups , bought her some of her favorite snacks, and took her to the little beach for a while. We went to Hobby Lobby for clay, canvases and paints for her paw prints and nose print. We enjoyed the bittersweet day just loving on her and preparing ourselves to say goodbye. As sad and hard as it still was, I think that day with her gave us a little bit of much needed closure. Our vet tech helped us with the painting projects and even brought us some extra supplies. She also discussed all of our options for cremation etc. She was such a comfort. And she deserves an award and a raise lol. Dr. Aguilar was so kind and informative when he came in the give Abby those final injections. He explained everything to my daughter before each step to make sure she was ready. She sat in the floor and held Abby who laid across her lap. When it was over, they told us we could stay with her for as long as we wanted. We stayed for probably an hour or so. By then, it was time for shift change, and Dr. Prince was there. When he saw me in the hallway he recognized me and asked how we were doing. I told him and told him my daughter was in the exam room and would love to see him. He jumped out of his chair and went right in there. He squatted on the floor beside her and talked to her for a while and gave his condolences. We truly love this place and their staff. I don't care how far from home it is, we will never go anywhere else. If you love your pets and find yourselves in a crisis, please don't hesitate to go to Lake Charles Pet Emergency Clinic. You won't be disappointed.

Office appointments are not jammed back to back so she never hurries through exams and carefully explains what is wrong and what needs to be done for our pets. We lived out of Texas for many years and they were cared for in a big gleaming state of the art facility which was very costly. They get the same wonderful care right here under Dr. Kennedy's expertise and her charges are very reasonable. The flood event of 2017 almost destroyed her building so presently she is practicing out of her own home and cannot do surgeries at this time. But progress is being made on repairing the office and normal operations will resume as soon as is possible. At any rate, my animals look forward to long happy lives under the care of this likeable, hardworking veterinarian.

Our dog has NEVER bit anyone, EVER, but anccording to this licensed Vet it's because "she's older now.". She's only 6. She knows her commands. Sits, lays and "all the way" which is her laying flat on her side, and then some. When asked for a treat to help her not focus on the shot and have her do the commands the vet said "we don't reward bad behavior." Dog was brought for a callous on her elbow. I'm a big believer on energy, and my dog wasn't feeling this place at all, for whatever reason. I've never had a vet hold any of my dogs down for blood work. I'm talking pure bred European Dobermans, Mals and much more "intimidating" breeds than a Shepard mix. If you're worried about a bite, put a muzzle on or refuse service. You don't hold the dog down, when worried about a bite. Very weird experience, however they didn't charge us, as nothing was done, and we will continue going to the vet we used prior. Came here because we just moved to this area and it saved us a drive but it didn't spare my dog any. We'll continue to make an hour round trip for a vet who can handle our beloved dog with care and doesn't put her in fight or flight mode for simply drawing blood.

I NEVER thought I would be writing this type of review, but here we are. The first problem I ran…read moreinto was lack of communication. I've been dealing with this vet since I was in middle school, I am now in my late twenties; I've NEVER had any problems previously... so for me to get to the point of having to relocate my fur baby to a different veterinarian, is HIGHLY disappointing. My contact information has been the same - I would get reminder emails all the time. At some point the emails stopped, but I took it as my baby wasn't due for any shots. After a while, the length of time became concerning so I contacted the office. I find out she's overdue for shots; they have my email, never attempted to contact. I gave them my new phone number the last time my baby had shots... they never updated the number. An easy fix though, so I didn't make an issue of it. When I got her in for her appointment, I let the young lady at the front desk know about my fur baby having frequent loose bowel movements & vomiting. We still cannot go to the back with the vet to see what's going on, so I had to trust that my message was properly relayed. When my baby was returned to me, it was said everything was fine, whatever "everything" is. They also sent her some medicine mixed with water for her to take. (Quick side note - my baby has been 6 pounds for YEARS; that is her final adult weight, she has been that weight for EVERY visit since about 2017). After giving it some time, I STILL seen that my baby was feeble, as well as still having consistent loose bowel movements AND vomiting; so I called & left a voicemail on last Friday. It is now Monday (2|13) & I hadn't heard anything back. I took it upon myself to call on my lunch break. The lady I spoke with, gave me one hell of an experience. When I expressed to her what happened & how my baby is STILL sick, she tells me that when the vet took a fecal sample, she didn't have diarrhea... since when does diarrhea momentarily stopping, mean it doesn't exist? I also asked her, what my baby weighed her last visit, since everything is "fine"? She gets quiet, then lowly says "5.3 pounds"... so I proceed to tell her how "my baby has NEVER weighed under 6 pounds, & you would think the fact that her weight has dropped, would be some type of cause for concern" her response to me is "ma'am that's not even 1 pound"... so what?! Every problem starts small. I've given ALL these symptoms, on top of you all seeing the drop in her weight, and still nobody is concerned? During this conversation, she constantly called my baby a "he", if you have my information pulled up from the system, you see my baby is a female, why do you keep referring to her as a "he"? So when I finally told her my dog is a "she" she goes on to say "she, he, YOUR DOG, didn't have diarrhea when the doctor took a sample". I've never spoken to someone sooo insensitive like this before in my life! I've been coming here for YEARS, I have a STRONG emotional attachment to my baby; so for her to HEAR the frustration & hurt in my voice, AND disregard my concerns about my baby's health when I put my money & trust for my baby's life into this business, is ABSURD. You'd think that once all other options have been cancelled out, they'd run further tests or do further examining if I'm telling them she's WEAK, if I'm telling them I can feel her bones, if I'm telling them she's throwing up & has diarrhea. Who thinks that since a dog isn't throwing up or having diarrhea in the moment, that everything is fine if they've consistently been sick? I am DISGUSTED with the lack of sympathy from the staff at this establishment. I will NEVER bring my baby back here ever again! I pray they didn't miss anything detrimental that'll put my baby's life at risk.
