The Neustadt was a particular jewel in the crown, and I found pretty much everything about it, from the punks with pitbulls on strings, to the jazz bars and independent restaurants both exciting and fascinating.
The Tiki bar, in the Kunstohof passage, is perhaps a bit more mainstream than is the norm in Dresden, but still very loveable. The Hawaiian theme is corny, but fun in a style reminiscent of the mid 90s, and there always seems to be a good atmosphere regardless of whether it's a Monday afternoon or a Saturday night.
Having had cocktails, ice-cream and a Fruehstuck on my visits here, and enjoyed them all, I've got to declare Tiki as one of my favourite bars in Dresden. I was sad to see the little lizard disappear though, I hope nothing bad has become of him.
