We took our 11 year old Maltese in for a cut. When we picked her up two hours later, her ear was bleeding and she had a huge cut on her back leg where they had nicked her with the razor. No one said anything to us when we picked her up. No explanation or apology. Five days later and the cut on her leg is still not healing. read more

I went to grooming by Jane, she was the closets to Ely, MN we could find. We normally take our Pom to Petsmart, but unfortunately the closest one is 6 hours away. NEVER again will I take her to this grooming facility. I asked to only have a half an inch trim. I also told them we grow out her Maine. Well when we came back 4 hours later our Pom was pretty much shaved and her long beautiful maine was gone!!!! I will pay the 60 to 70 dollars at Petsmart and drive the 6 hours there to make sure my voice is heard!! The only positive thing was she was clean. If you basically shave your dog then your in good hands, but if your like most and want your desires heard don't go here!! read more

We board our lab/Great Dane mix here and have never had any problems. They always remember our dog and her personality when I call in and when I drop her off. They make room for her when I need last minute boarding. They are friendly and maybe a little relaxed but I like that approach to this kind of business. Would definitely recommend this for dog boarding! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. We would never return to Jane's. My wife and I told the employee of Jane's Grooming, just how we wanted our dog to look. Three hours later. We weren't able to see our dog until the bill was paid. Once seeing our dog, we just gasped in horror. She looked so awful. We didn't want any hair removed from her head, face, ears, or tail, we told the employee that. Our dog is a Shih Tuz, not a shaved poodle. She had no matts other then a few on her legs that could have been brushed and combed out. Her head and face were shaved very close, her tail was cut close, her ears were cut very short and uneven, her whole body was shaved very close. On the way out the door, our dog had a very long hair remaining on an ear. The employee noticed the long hair and pulled her head up to the grooming table where Jane was grooming another dog to clip that long hair with the clippers. This is absolute not acceptable. Please, if you have a dog that is in need of clipping, think twice as to where you want your dog groomed. It was easier for her to just cut all her hair off and send her home, then it was to brush and comb and bath the dog. When I talked to Jane about the grooming, she was very condsenting and unapoligectic. She said my wife should have put down on paper what we wanted. Jane's employee asked us just how we wanted our dog groomed, and she wrote it on their computer. Also, I've never been at a groomers business where they have had so much other dogs hair all over the floor for other dogs to walk in. Nothing like bring home some other dogs fleas from all that dirty hair on the floor. We should've had a clue when we saw what a mess that place was. read more

Horrible service! Took my dog in for a haircut with a 9:00 am appointment time. I went to see if he was ready an hour and a half later and they didn't even start anything yet. They said it would be a couple hours. They called me at noon and said he'd be ready in 20 minutes!!! Three and a half hours later! REALLY?! Then when I go pick him up, before I see him, I paid my bill. $48.00!! And I gave a tip. They go get him and guess what? No haircut. At least not what I could tell. They gave him a bath and trimmed his nails. I was pissed. The first time I brought him there a year ago they did great and it didn't take half the day. I asked them what they did because I didn't see a difference in his hair. They said next time to ask for a shave. SERIOUSLY?! My dog has long hair and it's 85 degrees out!!I asked for the same thing last year! Do they not keep records or ask questions? I will never go there again. And if you do, bring a picture of what you want. And maybe a explanation for all the many hair cuts they have to offer. read more

Jane has groomed our Sheltie for his whole life of 15 years. If the cut isn't the way I wanted it, she does it over while I wait, this has only happened once in 15 years. Jane is the owner, we have had grooming done by others in her facility many times as well. Our dog also boarded with Jane many nights or weekends when we were out of town until we found a kennel closer to our home. I have no reservations about grooming done by Jane or her associates, and no problems with his boarding there when the need arises. The staff is friendly, they remember our dog by name and he isn't afraid to go there. A wide variety of pet products are available in the store as well. Jane's advice is valuable in helping us to find the right product for our dog. read more

But using my dog in a petty rivalry by taking her picture and sending that picture and information that was misconstrued by you, is bad business etiquette. You broke my trust, belittled my dog and used bad information to hurt someone. It seems that your plan and your co-conspirator Missi has taken a turn against you and her. When I left your place yesterday, I took about 10 of your business cards to pass along to more of my friends and neighbors. The last time you cut my dog everyone wanted to know where it was done and I told them. Most of those people have visited your business since...THAT WILL NO LONGER BE THE CASE. I have informed them of your deceit and lies and how you belittled Sami because she was bought by me for 25.00 from some woman driving around in a car, had no papers, and was not fixed. Why does any of that matter? I take good care of her. She has all her shots, a good temperament, a good home, many friends and all that meet her, love her. You are an elitist that only cares for those dogs that have the correct linage, correct papers, and correct owners. I wonder what your customers that have mutts like myself would think about how you treated me and my dog. Would they still be inclined to use your business? I hope not! On a final note: I see you participate as a judge for dog shows...tough to break into that I bet. Lets see what they think when I post this and all the other bad press and rating you have gotten. Again, Thanks for everything, you've given me a purpose for for a while. I was just going to play a computer game today called Civilization 5. The object of the game is to conquer the world.
