Clean, easy to book. I'll stay here the next time I'm in town. Loved how close it was to everything in town.

We passed by an impressive frog symphony each evening on our walk to the beach to see the sunset. Others made campfires on the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets. Most of the time we walked along the beach shoreline with no one else in sight. The cabin is nicely landscaped with hostas, purple iris, miniature roses and other flowers. There is a sliding glass door which opens to a nice deck with a charcoal grill. We enjoyed the free nightly popcorn from the Inn which was a bonus. The Fox Den cabin has a ramp up to the front door. Inside is a cozy kitchen, dining area with ceiling light and fan, a cozy living room with a sofa, TV, and cozy gas fireplace. The bathroom is roomy with a hot shower. The 2 bedrooms had queen size beds and a dresser and closet. The kitchen has an electric stove, toaster, coffee maker, and microwave. Some small improvements could be a larger Tv with better sound and add on the Hallmark Movie Channel, ceiling fan in both bedrooms, some cute water glasses, and a small cutting board. Overall Fox Den Cabin at Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins is a cozy cabin on Lake Superior with beach access and good location to explore many waterfall hikes including the Porcupine Mountains State Park trails.

While being a retired math teacher, I now look at every lodging I attend with a housekeeper's eye. This inn is clean, the staff (especially the owners Michelle & Josh) are incredibly engaging, friendly, kind. . . and they add the touches of a fresh pot of coffee every morning to fresh popped corn in the lobby every evening. You are a sweet little stroll to the huge beach on beautiful Lake Superior. . . where you can stone gather, walk in warm sand and listen to the waves as they roll in. I'd stay at this inn again. . . and did I mention they have great cabins available as well. It's terrific place for your whole family to gather and to be on the largest of the Great Lakes. The energy at this place is bright & full of joy!

Above all, owners Kim and Rob make you feel welcomed and do their best to ensure a great time is had by all! Highly recommended!!! They have cabins to fit any size... we had 6 adults and 2 kids comfortably in their Cedar Lodge. Can't wait to return!!! Looking forward to more great memories!!!

At first this seemed like a nice place to stay. But our first evening, we heard rodents running…read morearound in the ceiling over our bedroom and they woke me at 5 a.m. The next day, we told the owner and she said "we live in the woods, it's to be expected" and her husband later said it was chipmunks on the roof. When we took our bag of trail mix out of the grocery bag on the counter, there was hole in it chewed up by mice! That was explained the critters we'd heard. Also I took a shower that morning and the water was lukewarm. I sent a text to Kim about the rodents and cold shower and she replied "I'll be right over" (though I texted her back asking to come a bit later as i wasn't dressed). A minute later I heard pounding on the door and an angry Kim walked in and said "If you aren't satisfied here you're welcome to leave." No apology, no offer to improve the situation except to say she'd show me how the shower works (it should be obvious!) but none of the kindness or customer service most hosts show. I asked if she'd consider giving us a discount, she said she'd think about it. Later that afternoon I got a text saying I could get a 100% discount if we packed up our bags and left that day! It was the weekend of the Porkies Music Festival and we didn't want to have to leave the festivaland search for new lodgings, especially since all the lodging would be booked. Avoid this place if you want a peaceful, pleasant stay and a good night's sleep.

Americinn of the Porcupine Mountains - Great selection of food. There are even more than what I have here.

This seems to be the biggest location around for folks coming to see the Porcupine Mountains…read more(Porkies); the hotel is one of the last things you'll drive past before you enter the park grounds. Check-in was fast and seamless; room was clean and comfortable; proximity to Lake Superior was nice. We enjoyed watching the waves from the little slice of beach the hotel had behind it; there is a also a bonfire pit and quite a few comfy outdoor benches here, as well as some picnic benches nearby for folks wanting to enjoy a picnic outside. As far as restaurant options locally: the hotel is attached to one of the few restaurants in the area, so that was a good fall back on option. We passed on eating there after reading some of the reviews, choosing to go into downtown Ontonagon instead (check out Syl's!) and Antonio's (about 20-30 mins away off of 64 & 28). Again, it's just nice to have the choice nearby if you're tired of driving. Reasons this hotel didn't get a solid 5 star review is: first, the staff are not particular friendly, never greeted us all the times we walked past/obviously had questions. We had to initiate conversation with them. Secondly, although the hotel had signs saying masks are required by state mandate, some staff were not wearing masks, relying on the plexiglass barrier only.
