Just avoid!
Why?
A. Poor Management
B. Poorly trained staff who have zero idea of customer service
C. No idea about food safety and hygeine
D. All of the above
I would easily choose D.
I have given this places more chances than it deserves. I will admit that I really wanted this place to do well. I have enjoyed Grill'd restaurants since the Juntion opened, but Kotara, unfortunately, doesn't quite have its act together.
Chance 1. Poorly made salad. When addressing the manager about the stinginess of the purple onion (i.e. none) he started explaining to me how many pieces of lettuce was the standard. Because lettuce and onion are definitely the same thing.
Chance 2. I alerted a staff member about a $5 note that was left under a table from a previous patron and he responded by pocketing it and claiming it "must have been a tip". He is definitely a staff member I would avoid tipping, so that was personally disappointing to me.
Chance 3. While dining tonight a cockroach about an inch in length was scurrying around under the table. The same staff member as my previous story was the one who I told (unfortunately) and he said he would alert the manager. I really hope they clear up that nasty problem. It would probably help if they cleaned the floors and tables properly. Cockroach heaven there (and not because they are killed there, apparently).
I think the most disappointing thing is these all happened on different occasions and they seem to have gotten progessively worse. As I stated previously I would love for them to be going better, but unforunately I dont see this happening anytime soon. read more
