Events must be conveyed to bereaved individuals in a thorough and specific manner. This led to much confusion and stress for me. My husband had a grey/black mustache which became a black smudge for his viewing. I could understand if there was an accident but just be honest. Slater's as whole was good BUT the Funeral Director needs to find another career choice. Simply believe he has been doing this for 30 plus years and lacks empathy and common courtesy when interaction with his customers. Truly truly a sad state.

This made things very easy for me and my siblings. My dad passed at home but my mother passed out of state. We really did not know what to do with the passing out of state. I made the call to Ann thinking this was not going to be an easy thing to handle, but let me tell you, she took care of everything!! She walked us through the process, called us and took care of not only my mom but us. No matter how many calls I made, Ann always took her time and responded promptly. I felt from the first meeting with these two, till 4 years later that we had been life time friends. Thats is how they treat you, like family.

A half day service and they would not permit anyone to eat, which was difficult for elderly people and small kids. Worst was that nobody was managing the service, except at the end of the day they were pushing everyone out. I never had such an experience at any funeral home. They checked in on us at the perfect times, asking if we needed coffee or water. They greeted all of our family and gave their condolences. Perhaps the most touching aspect was how Nick helped us get my Grammy home. There was an issue back home in CA with her death certificate (nothing to do with Alfieri, it was her doctors), and she almost did not make it back to PA, her final resting place. I have never felt so alone and scared I am crushed from losing my husband of 56 years. And this person treated me so bad. Now after it was paid on that Wednesday I never got his ashes until Monday. When I had to call and ask for them. I know there had to be a more caring way to tell me what she did. I thought a place owned by woman would be a little bit more compassionate. So if you don't have insurance don't send your loved one there. All they care about is the money well at least that's all Danelle cared about.
