    Check in counter
    Cher M.

Long Beach to San Diego My first experience using Greyhound and this is the 2nd half of my trip returning to Long Beach. This location is a bit more congested than the Long Beach station and far busier. The check in was fast, easy and the lady at the counter was friendly and very helpful. After checking in I was directed to go into the gated area to wait for the bus arrival. Once inside the gated area I see 3 different gates to incoming bus arrivals. I stood by gate 1 for awhile and as other buses arrive the area began to fill up so I ask one of the men tending to the buses which gate I should be at for the Long Beach bus. I was looked at and ignored. I just wanted to make sure i was at the right gate. I waited about 10 minutes, watching more buses arrive and more people began to gather. I ask again, "sir, can you please tell me which gate I should be at so I can board the bus as one of the first passengers, ivr been here for 40 minutes and still have no idea where I need to be" he looks at me and says "you will know when we announce the boarding. just listen for the boarding call". To me that was rude. I have a bad knee and was only asking so I could avoid the rush of people boarding and get a seat close to the window so I could stretch out my leg as to not be stuck on the isle. I shook my head in disbelief. Mind you my bus was due to depart on Monday, April 23 at 1:45. I had been at the station since 12:15 and with the exception of the friendly woman at check in the rest of the staff was rude. Anyhow, after asking the second time and being told to wait I was annoyed to say the least. The gate I was standing at was becoming very crowded. I wasnt comfortable leaving to use the restroom Simi waited. I then witness a Spanish family approach the same man and ask gate information, the man told them exactly where to go and stand. Then shortly there after another family of the same ethnicity ask which gate is going to Long Beach, not only does he tell then he motions for them to come to the gate where I am and positions them literally almost in front of me and even tells them the eatimated arrival time which happened to be about 15 minutes late. Before he walks away I get his attention and say, "so I'm going to assume by what I just over heard THIS is the gate for Long Beach, why couldnt you tell me that ive been here for over an hour" he looked at me spoke to me in Spanish (which I did not understand) I said I don't speak Spanish I speak english. I felt totally discriminated against. I only asked a simple question and was ignored but others were directed to their boarding gate. I finally got boarded and the bus departed at around 2:15. Come to find out the woman who sat next to me had the same experience. The guys working the gate would not answer her either and she was stuck at the back of the boarding area and was second to last person to board the bus. She felt discriminated against as well. The bus itself was fine, a littke worn out interior but all in all ok. My issue was the feeling of discrimination and rude behavior my the guys in the bright vest helping load and unload passengers. They seemed to help their own and forgot about us Caucasians. Not cool at all. Makes me hesitant to use the San Diego location again. I was planning on using Greyhound the end of May to return to San Diego but this experienc has left me weary and unsure. The 2 stars were earned by the young woman at the counter only. Please talk to the men loading passengers their behavior was rude amd made me feel unwelcome.

It's a transit hub for busses to take people to their destinations, so what do you expect? These are not magical Greyhounds and do not possess teleportation powers, and like all other automobiles that are also unable to teleport, these busses will not magically arrive on time when there is traffic. On the upside, there is wifi for Facebook, a 1080p HDTV showing Jeopardy, and security to deter the homeless.

Our driver trying to figure it out how to operate the bus! :/

Horrible experience! I got a ticket to travel from LA to San Diego and it was supposed to leave at 9am then got delayed and we ended up leaving at 10:30! We drove for 1 hour and then we made a stop in Santa Ana station where the driver couldn't help a guy who was on a wheelchair to get into the bus so she made us wait for almost 3 more hours just because she didn't know how to operate her own bus? WTF is that!? It took us 7 hours to travel from LA to San Diego! (Which normally takes 2H30 :/) Please don't waste your time booking your trip with this company it's so fucking horrible!!!

Initially, I used for a large group executive Mercedes transfer vehicle for several hours. Everything was very well thought out, punctual, and kind service. They are even willing to extend and give quotes for extensions if needed even though it was unexpected. I appreciate that. Vehicle was top notch, clean, and had waters. Driver always easily available when needed and ready to go and very good with communication. Then started to use for airport drop off. Very lux service. Picked up with a Escalade always very clean and shiny in and out, driver always dressed up in a suit and tie (nice touch), and they help you with all your luggage on and off. Waters waiting for you after a long trip. Recently, had come back and was at a layover and forgot to set up a pick up and called Mike. He was able to arrange a pick up within hours. I really appreciate it bc after traveling for 24 hrs all you want to worry about is to go to sleep and this was one less thing off my plate to think about. So, thank you 5 Star Transportation Services for all you do! And yes, I highly recommend them. You can't go wrong. I will continue working with them. I have them as my contact on my phone now!
