"It was the best of trips, it was the worst of trips," to paraphrase Dickens. I booked round trip from Kansas City to Tampa. When it went well, it was great and when it didn't, it really sucked. The first bus I got on had a problem and we returned to the Kansas City station. No replacement bus was available so I had to reschedule for the next day. The company sent me a text message with a link to re-book it myself, so I didn't need an agent. Once we left KC, the trip out went well. Most stations had vending machines. A few had a restaurant area but the restaurant was closed. I don't know if it was the time of day or if they were permanently closed. We had a stop at a McDonalds that was the only real food I got during this trip. The Tampa station was shared with the city bus system and at 6pm on a Thursday the doors to the station were locked. Lucky the weather was good as I waited for my Lyft. The trip back was a mess, honestly. We left on time from Tampa. When we changed buses in Tallahassee, we left 30-40 minutes late because they had to accommodate a disabled passenger in a motorized wheelchair. In making room for her, they folded 3 rows of seats that had already been assigned. So some riders got displaced. We missed our connection in Atlanta because of the delay in Tallahassee. The agent in Atlanta was great and quickly handled the line of folks needing help. I got a new route, but had to wait 4.5 hours for a bus to Nashville. The disabled rider was on this bus, too, but they had more time to get her settled before departure. However, the seats that got folded were assigned and some riders again got displaced. Greyhound needs a better system that knows disabled riders need the space and doesn't allow the folded seats to be assigned. That bus was full, completely. The arrival in Nashville was welcome because the last two buses (Nashville to St. Louis and St. Louis to KC) were only half full and we had some space to relax. The drivers of both these busses were the same drivers I had going out a week earlier, and both were really nice and kept us on schedule. They deserve some recognition. The buses all had WiFi and their own streaming service, which was nice. They also had outlets so we could charge our devices. So the trips were some good, some bad. I'll think seriously before I decide to ride them again. The price was better, but the travel time and mishaps offset any money I saved. I may take a train next time. read more

This drivers and the security guard out of the Nashville Station are rude and displays a nasty behavior towards paying customer. I've been through that station on 3 times and each time they act the same, rude and nasty. I do understand that their are undesirables that hang around the station and they are short and snappy with them but a paying customer should be able to ask a simple question without receiving short snappy answers like were bothering them. Genuinely one of the most horrible places I have ever seen in my life. After a lovely weekend in nashville I wanted to take a bus to visit my family in jackson. At the door there was about 10 extremely sketchy looking individuals who were clearly homeless and on drugs barricading the door, inside was similar to a scene you would see in an apocalypse movie where they are holding people in a quarantine zone. Sleeping bags and trash everywhere, half dressed people, urine all over the bathrooms, half naked people wandering around. People hunkering down in corners. Then on the bus itself, everyone was screaming and on phones, there were people with their barefeet on the windows stomping like we were in a jungle. Never again greyhound, I paid for a 400 dollar uber to come back instead of taking the bus back. read more

My bus came from Dallas and was headed to Nashville. At 2:30am bus driver dropped us off in Memphis. She told everyone to get off the bus to wait for her replacement. Our ticket said that it would be a 30 minute wait. As we waited longer than 30 minutes no one announced why it was happening. Only the security guard was there. At the 2 hour mark I asked the guard what was happening. She said the driver hasn't showed up and she had no indication of when that would happen. This was not announced to any of the passengers. By 6am more guards started their shift, and they told us to wait for the customer service representative to start their shift at 8:30am. This was also not announced to any of the passengers. At 8:30am they said we need to call the customer service line. The passengers did but they were all being told different things. Some people were told that we would need to wait until the following day to depart. Finally at 9am they announced on the intercom that we needed to get our stuff off of the bus and wait for further instructions. Then a passenger told me that someone told him that a bus would take us to Nashville at 10am. At 10:15am I found another way home and no replacement bus had come. The staff showed no understanding to the passengers. They never said they were sorry for the inconvenience. One of them even laughed at me when I was asking them if the bus would be rescheduled. So far customer service has refused to give me a refund because the delay wasn't from the departing station. I guess they don't mind treating their passengers the way they treated us. So friends, if you take a greyhound bus and the driver bails on you, be prepared for Greyhound not to care or help you for at least 8 hours (probably more). And don't expect a refund. read more

If I could put -5 I would. My bus was struck by lightning, we we're stranded for 4+ hours with no a/c, no water, and no electricity. What I thought would be a few hours delay turned into another days worth of a trip. We we're stranded with toddlers and a newborn at the Nashville bus station for 7hrs. It was an absolute nightmare. I arrived here an hour ahead sitting in my chair patiently waiting on my bus when I noticed several of the female workers making jokes on a disabled traveler, not realizing I would be the next victim of their nonchalant, unprofessional, altitude. My bus was supposed to leave at 5:00 pm. I sit and watched, and waited, and waited, finally I walked up to the ladies unaware that me approaching them would create a fire storm. I was told that my bus had left an half hour early, and that I would not be getting reimbursed, and the next bus would not be arriving until around 4am the next morning. My work schedule wasn't affording me another day to get back, and they were not at all concerned. I discovered it doesn't have a pa system so if the workers are caught up smoking, joking, and laughing to the point where you can't here them yelling out your city. You will be royally screwed. It took multiple calls to Greyhound customer service and finally they agreed the bus did in fact take off to early, and that I should have been informed. So after all of this mistreatment I finally arrived back in my city the next day around 8am. Word to those that are wise. If you have any other form of transportation, please use it. Please use any form of transportation before you use greyhound. I was travelling back to Tennesse State University for my spring semester from the Atlanta bus station. The bus was on time but after we got to the first stop, we were told the bus was no longer working. The bus was stuck at this station for over 4 hours in the cold. When we finally arrived at the Nashville greyhound bus station 5 hours then we were supposed to I thought maybe how could this experience get any worse? boy was I wrong... There was a fat male worker at the Nashville bus station sitting down as if unable to walk due to his weight. He was yelling and being very aggressive to the passengers that were on my bus. The people on my bus were angry rightfully so seeing as though we were stuck in the cold for over 5 hours and many of them missed there connecting bus and waisted money. While waiting on my uber I met this young lady who also attended Tennesse State University, and she informed me to be careful because a worker at the Nashville Greyhound station had sexually assaulted her earlier that day. I was in complete disbelief after she told me this and no longer felt safe at the station. She had called the police but the worker is still employed at this station. As if it couldn't get any worse I emailed greyhound regarding a refund or voucher for my exsperience and they straight up told me no. I will no longer be taking greyhound. I must say, as positive as this new year is going to be, I'll be so glad to not have to deal with anymore greyhound drivers!! I've had two out of 7 so far, that have even had the slightest of manners! Actually the two were pretty awesome! But the other ones, and the ones who work the hubs, like is there a personality test that you must score a certain number or below to qualify you?? I have never been treated or talked to the way some of these drivers have talked to us. And you have to stand there and listen to them yelling at you like toy are a basic training soldier and there hood trash talk with their gum snapping or they'd kick you off "their" bus!! Right where you are, they will drop you off!! We had one driver literally stop in the middle of a five lane interstate in Orlando just to make sure everyone was listening to the extremely loud recorded greeting! He slammed that thing into park and marched down the aisle to literally yell at someone. I don't even know how he heard anything over the load speaker! I certainly don't hear anything. The middle of the interstate in Orlando Florida!!! Like really??!! Power trips all the way around! Never in my life met so many ride workers in one organization!! Greyhound Bus do better! Got stranded in Nashville as a result of Delta cancelling tons of their flights (IT outages via CrowdStrike). The Greyhound website promotes their buses as clean with functioning Wi-Fi and buses in good condition (including air conditioning)...boy is that a scam. Only viable option home was to take a Greyhound bus and the bus station was one of the most disgusting places I've ever been to. It is dilapidated, dirty, smelly, and there were basically no staff on site. The bus itself was disgusting, as the seats were visibly torn and the air conditioning hardly worked. When we asked the driver about Wi-Fi, he laughed and said "Good luck, it barely works." (Wi-Fi didn't work) Again, we are fortunate to just have made it home, but the experience was not great and customer service is next to non-existent. read more

Greyhound Drivers are very rude. Atlanta buses are notoriously delayed. No cash or credit card refunds only vouchers. You must ask for a voucher promptly after you receive notification of a delay or cancellation otherwise you will loose your money. I lost $200 because I failed to ask for a refund within 24 hours. Read the fine print before booking with Greyhound. Customer service is outsourced and will only accommodate by reading a script denying refunds. OMG!! Traveling from Nashville to Memphis on a greyhound bus! Bus #86275 @ 7:05 am. Last bus I was on was in high school in the 70's. I thought I'd save some money instead of $300+ for a flight I'd pay $50 by bus. By the way you have to load your luggage onto the bus yourself. One of the passengers had a question and was standing in the isle. There seemed to be a language barrier. Driver yelling "I don't know what you're saying I don't speak that either! How you gonna get a bus ticket and you can't speak to me? You don't speak?!! Sit down! SIT DOWN!!! Do not defecate on this bus!!" (What the hell?) Driver continues.. "If you are on your cell phone I will pull this bus over till you get done! So turn your phones off or down! I need to hear my GPS! I just drove all night and I am tired!!" The area around here can-be dicey! Look out for homeless, druggies and other types as you make your way in and outside! The bathroom was under major cleaning but the cleaner was nice to let me use it. I would rather have disinfectant and floor detergent all over than what I could only imagine was there. The agents are not helpful and cannot multi-task! An employee totally ignored me and directed her energy to one customer only. Even customers were confused because the LCD did not provide gate information. It said see agent on all trips! The best thing is our driver William Moore who deserves 5 stars!!! I hope I spelled his name correctly. I tried to give him tip but he wouldn't have it! Too bad because he is worth every buck and more! What a gem! He even tells you when to turn the clock from CMT to EST! When the bus was at Bowling Green, he pointed out the Corvette Museum. My seat was broken and the upholstery looks like it is so badly pilled that furniture updates need to be enacted ASAP! Strap yourself in as this was one hell of an experience . We boarded in NY at the Port Authority Terminal. Nose is still burning from the dank terminal with overpowering smell. So we arrived at Pittsburgh and no staff member wears a uniform, ID card or lanyard to identify themselves. TV screen says speak to the agent. Surprise no one is there or identifiable. Tried to ask a male driver for some directions and he turned his back on me halfway through my question. Thanks mate. A lady wearing pink was walking through the terminal and we rightly, after observing for a minute or two guessed that she must work there. I tried to ask about getting on a bus and she told me that I need a ticket from the ticket desk. I informed her that it had nobody there, she yelled I can't be everywhere. Clearly this business trains its staff in the vital role of customer service. Finally we worked out that our bus was due to depart at 0155h from gate 10. At 0235h there was still no bus driver or announcements to advise what was going on. At 0245h an announcement was made that we were now leaving at 0430h. Great timing with your info Greyhound. My wife wanted to confirm that our tickets would be OK, she approached the lady in pink who we now have learnt is the supervisor kindly informed my wife that she is on her lunch break and will not help her. By this time we had travelled from New York city to Indianapolis and the time it took to get this far we could have flown back to Australia with a couple of his to spare. Let me say that again. So with a further 4hr delay we decided to hire a car from Indianapolis to Nashville. Greyhound you sent us to destinations we didn't want to go to and never to our final destination, we ended up forgoing the ticket to Nashville, then still had to pay for a hire car and fuel. And trust me, he weeps for it...being situated in the middle of the hood is perfect for a bus stop that has several pre-dawn departure times; but the kicker is the bus doesn't actually get there til 2 hours after the sun's up, so enjoy your free opportunity to just hang out in the building in the dark for a while. First impressions: Uber driver warning me "hey man keep your head on a swivel, this is like the worst part of town" then 2-3 bodies lying horizontal on the ground outside the front door. About a dozen homeless bums opening the door and walking in over the course of a few hours, looking around wide-eyed like a deer in headlights, howling some random noise then walking around for a few minutes before getting removed by the security guard; btw, the security guard is 99% of the reason this business can even operate out of this building and she doesn't even work for Greyhound. The Greyhound employee was there when I showed up at 6am and that was the only time I saw her over the next 3 hours. Think you're gonna get notified if ur Greyhound is running 2.5hrs late either by an employee or by the tech that Greyhound uses? Think again. The tv's that show the "departure/arrival times" say things like "6:50 departure: Kansas City (also services Nashville)" then the destination space is blank. Like wtf does that even mean? I don't even know if the bus I'm getting on is going the right cardinal direction. One time someone asked the security guard when our bus was arriving since it was late. She was an angel and said hold up lemme go talk to them, and walked outside into the corner of the parking lot by the dumpster where apparently a Greyhound employee was working (???) came back in and said "all they know is the bus will be about 25-30 minutes late" when it was already an hour late. Doesn't make a lick of sense. In an age where you can check your incoming ride share driver's exact location, nobody, not even the lone Greyhound employee who decided to hide from us the entire time, has any idea where the busses are at any time. Nice. The pathetic reality is if, Odin forbid, a Greyhound had an accident and had 0% chance of making its pickup, the bus riders would wait at the bus station for 12 hours because no one knows how to track the bus and likely expects that kind of delay from a company of this caliber. At one point a guy came out of the bathroom in grey sweatpants with about a yard width size piss stain on his crotch. Just kraut'ed himself in the bathroom. Normal thing to see in this Greyhound station. 2.5 hours late is better than never, and the bus rolled up. The driver was amazing. Really cool lady who drove safe but not slow. Perfect driving. We stopped at a random gas station to take a 15min break about halfway to Memphis, and all the bus riders sprinted off the bus to immediately light up cigarettes. Vibes. Then we went 2 more mins down the road to the Jackson, MS bus stop which is also a gas station of equal size and stopped to let people off. Why not just stop at that one idek. Whatever. About halfway through the ride to Memphis is when somebody Krauted their Odinforsaken britches. The bus stank of piss and I was praying to Odin for the smell to please stop. Very clean greyhound station! The customer service was great but the staff seemed a bit on edge. If a man is agitated telling him "come at me then, I wish you would!" Isn't a great way to calm the man and the situation down. I've seen people look at me funny for dressing like a guy. I am not from the American South I don't care what people think of me but I don't like being tortured. I think stalking people is wrong. This is the worst means of transportation available. When it is available. Just so you know, if you are delayed because of their company, no matter how extreme, no matter how much you lose. They will never give a refund or show any concern for the life loss you have taken due to their screw up. I sat in kentucky for 18 hours on January 3rd awaiting a driver that never came and noone knew when they would come. Then in Atlanta for 7 hours because a bus was late for the 3rd time. My entire trip would have taken 18 hours, yet i spent that in 1 city. A trip that was supposed to 18 hours ended up being 2 and a half days. I missed 3 days of work out of a wouldve been 1 week check, and because of them my bills are backed up and i am struggling to catch up. It was my first time taking the greyhound bus from nashville to memphis and it was quite an interesting experience. We almost missed our bus. The bus stated "dallas texas" and not memphis so we were still sitting there. There was no staff to inform the customers that the memphis bus was changed to this bus. The staff is nowhere to be found and then the bus status information on the tv screen is not the best. The place had a lot of interesting people, some did appear to be druggies. There was also a bunch of weird men outside the bus station cat calling females. There was also a woman who kept walking in and out of the bus and around the area nonstop. There was tons of chairs for seating, a lot of areas to charge your phone, a clean bathroom, vending machines and a small crappy shop to buy food (sold hot dogs, sandwiches, etc). Once you are in the bus, the seats are not comfortable and did not appear to be very clean. But the ride was smooth and the driver is very nice and informative. There is also bathroom in the back of the bus. I didn't use the bathroom so I can't comment on it. read more

The Greyhound station in Nashville is HORRIBLE. On Friday, July 3 the snack bar was CLOSED at 1 PM when it should have been open to serve lunch. The location is terrible, only a small corner store in the immediate vicinity. Plenty of homeless people loitering outside. My husband and I had to order meals through UberEats and have a delivery made to the bus station. Our bus was SCHEDULED to depart at 2:15 PM. We left an hour and 20 minutes late, at 3:35 PM. Employees are rude. NO ONE enforces the "no trespassing" rule. I DO NOT recommend catching a Greyhound Bus from Nashville. read more

No assistance at the bus terminal. Monitors with schedule updates were blank. Bus arrived 45 minutes late. Drunk, passed out passenger from the previous bus ride was still in my seat and had to be physically removed. This was my first and last bus ride. This is the worst service ever! Delayed by 24 hours by getting stranded twice on the trip from Chicago,. IL to Nashville, TN. Now delayed again from Nashville, TN back to Chicago, IL which will cause my daughter and I to miss a train connection to Los Angeles, CA and the train is sold out the next day the day after that! We are so irritated! But so far,the ticket agents we've dealt with have been very patient and as helpful as can be, but I will never book with this company again! read more

I'd rather pass a kidney stone than use this facility again. 4 buses parked outside unattended and they couldn't commandeer a driver in the entire Nashville area to drive it to Atlanta. Initially was told it's 3hrs late - went back after 3hrs and it told me the same bus was going to be another 3hrs late. ... how you can have a delay on top of a delay as a reputable company I do not know - but either way, I wasn't sticking around to find out. my first greyhound experience, never again. this bus is very dirty and you can smell the toilet throughout. Lexingto, KY got to the depot early, it was raining. building had signs on the doors "closed". had to stand outside on the sidewalk. bus was delayed nearly an hour. there was a man inside the depot, he let a woman that was outside all night (she missed bus last night) go in to change her clothes. he came outside later and smoked a cigarette, right in front of the signs that said "no smoking in this area (there were 2 of those signs. further down there was a sign that said "smoking area". 2 stars cause it's better than Atlanta. Inexcusable amount of trash immediately outside. Smoking laws disregarded. panhandlers sleep outside and pester for cigarettes. Staff members are rude. Security is on a power trip to guest, ignores actual things security should care about. To the lady employee who woke me up to ask for my ticket as soon as I fell asleep because you thought I didn't belong, pay attention, I literally got off a bus. I hope there's construction outside your bedroom window for the next week and you get no sleep. Do yourself a favor, walk out of this place, hangout in a nearby hotel restraunt until you HAVE to come back. read more
