One regular cheese and pepperoni pizza and one gluten free meat lovers pizza.

Went back to Gretchen's Grotto for more of their homemade pizza. I never tried the meat lovers gluten free pizza before and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed that it was as good as it was. It's really hard to find gluten free pizza that is just as good if not better than regular pizza.

This restaurant put others in the Honesdale to shame. It was the best stromboli I have eaten. Thank You

many restaurants were closed on Tuesday. So glad we went here. not much from the outside, in fact i have driven by this place several times and never noticed it. 80s decor with white lacy curtains and vinyl table cloths. radio stations music. (playing 80s hits. which i enjoyed). the food is GOOD. soup tastes homemade. get the bowl. i made the mistake of getting the cup but should have gotten the bowl. bread came out piping hot. large servings. i could probably split my pasta plate into three lunches. homemade potato chips done perfectly. homemade desserts. definite coming back! read more

We got there just past 12!. 9of the 10 tables were filled. Server was sweet and service was spot on. The bf ordered a cheese steak which was good but different than he was expecting. More like chop meat than minute steak. Still tasty. I ordered the loaded GIANT baked potato. Pulled pork w/bbq sauce smoked cheddar, sour cream, topped with an amazing amount of crispy fried onions. read more

Very sweet mom and pop kinda place. I had chicken parm, which many places have been making worse and worse in recent years This one was very good in every respect, everything i was hoping for when I ordered it, they obviously care about what they serve. Not fancy, not gourmet. But good food, friendly attentive staff, fair prices, good range of your basic Americana offerings. Yum! I'll go back when I'm in the area. read more

Absolutely love this place‼‼‼ The pizza is to die for and the pasta dish with spinach, artichoke and mushroom is our favorite. A small town homey atmosphere that feels like home. I also forgot my pocketbook there and it was kept safe for me when I returned. So happy to find a new favorite spot. We are snowbirds and will miss this place when we go back to Florida for the winter You won't be disappointed if you eat here read more

We went to Gretchen's Grotto with a group of 10 friends to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. The service was fantastic- thank you Carly- and everyone said they thought their meal was delicious. Some of the entrees ordered were: artichoke pasta, butternut squash ravioli, chicken parmigiana and meat lasagna. All were served together and hot. Their bread is also amazing and fresh from the oven. We can't wait to go there again. read more

My wife and I went to enjoy Valentines Dinner. In the past, food and service have been great. Tonight the service was among the worst I've ever received. Should it take 20 minutes to serve soup, another 25 minutes to serve dinner, and an additional 20 minutes to get your bill? We might try again but if the same servers are there, forget about it. read more

We stopped for lunch not knowing what kind of food they serve. As it turns out, it's mainly Italian. The antipasto salad was really good. The BBQ bacon cheeseburger had a really good flavor and the burger was cooked perfectly. We were trying to avoid carbs, so didn't get to try the Italian entrees. The pizza another customer had looked great. Had to ask for tea refill the first time as the only server was doing food prep. read more

If you're in Honesdale and haven't been to Gretchen's Grotto, you're seriously missing out. This is hands down the best restaurant in town. Everything feels thoughtful and high quality, but the real standout? Their fresh-baked little loaves of bread. They come out warm, perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside--honestly to die for. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is consistently great, and every dish feels like it's made with care. But those little loaves alone are enough to keep you coming back.
