Pizza was subpar to be honest. I'd give a lower score if the environment wasn't so great.

Well. We traveled to the lovely town of Tilburg to catch a concert at this venue. It's a proper…read moreconcert hall and I really liked it. I also appreciated how well-designed it is. The bathrooms are in the right places. There are bars within convenient reach for most of the arena. It's just smart. Acoustics and lights were good, show was really good. So the 013 is mostly GA standing only, but the back of the room does have a series of raised "step" type platforms ... that offer an option for sitting down or at least having a place to sit down if you'd like to alternate sitting and standing. Being in the back of the room, it's also a little more chill than the rail. The venue also has a balcony upstairs but you pretty much need to get up there and hold your spot for the whole show if you're doing that. The venue also has those cool locker systems that we've only encountered in Europe. For my American friends: You scan the QR code posted around the lockers or use the pin pad terminal to rent a locker. Then you get to set a code and the machine tells you which locker will now be yours and then you go off and use your code to lock and unlock the locker for the night. Very slick. I chose to hang in the back on the riser area. It was great because there is a bar right back there and toilets right near the bar. So you never have to go too far for anything. The view is pretty good, especially for us shorties. I don't know why all men in Europe are like 7' tall but they are all giraffes. I also discovered a secret spot that I don't mind sharing since I probably won't be back to this venue any time soon... on each side of the riser area, there's a big beam that comes down vertically along the wall. If you position yourself right in front of that beam, there's a little ledge formed where you can either stand and put your back up against the beam for support or sit and basically have a backrest. Best seat in the house. Staff was really friendly and the crowd was also really friendly. We'd definitely come back.

Cool place, different events, all kinds of music, nice concerts…read more Very alike to Sonic Ballroom just bigger, and mixed. It's not very well located, i mean for what people in Cologne are used to, a bit far, "wrong side" of the Rhine, etc. But it's really cool, looks like an old warehouse made to a club. Really underground from the way it's done, somehow a Berlin-style club. If you are into alternative not mainstream stuff full of college kids, this is the place to go.

Het Muzieklokaal - The 'podium' with a grand piano

Het Muzieklokaal is a music café in Utrecht that I heard about when it opened just over a year ago…read moreand finally had the chance to visit. Such a cool idea, it's a normal enough cafe but then with a grand piano in the middle. Why? Because they regularly have performances here by musicians and ensembles! I came on Sunday, where their regularly scheduled classical music hour happens from 16.00 to 17.00. My excuse for coming was that an old friend of mine was playing, but I was also curious to see the café. It was very busy but the waitstaff quickly came and took my order at my table. It took a while for my coffee to arrive but it was fine. A little before 16.00 the musicians appeared and started to tune their instruments. When they were ready to play the proprietor whistled to get everyone's attention and introduced the artists. The concert is in principle 2x20 mins with a 20 min pause in between. During the concert everyone stayed silent and listened (or continued to work on their computers) and the staff came around with drink orders for anything except coffee or tea - because the coffee machine makes too much sound to use during the concert! Overall I found the atmosphere really nice. I was really impressed how attentive the audience was, and it's such a nice relaxed and informal atmosphere to experience classical music in. Families came with their small children so they could look at the instruments close up, university students took a break from writing papers to listen to Bach, and there were quite a few people who came specifically for the concert. They have all sorts of concerts and activities so I highly recommend checking out the agenda on their website. But if you love music, coffee, and cocktails, then this is your place!!!!!

Eep! This is such a cool venue. I love that there are two stages for larger and smaller audiences…read more You can be in the thick of it on the floor in front of the stage, stand off to the side for some breathing room, or take it all in from a balcony. Excellent acoustics and fun visuals enhance any act. There are tons of options for drinks, including plenty of zero-proof options, which I really appreciate. You'll get a wooden token when you enter--don't lose it or you'll need to pay a deposit for your beverage! Plenty of bathrooms (so no wait) and easy to book and use lockers on site added convenience. It's within easy walking distance of the central train station (and tons of hotels and dining, too), so it's painless to get there and back to your room.

I went there for Eindhoven MEtal Meeting and I left there everyday smelling like CIgarette smoke…read more They have inside smoking places which makes no sense, just send them outside to smoke. I got sick from all of the smoke inside of that place. There aren't many places to sit. They sell way too many tickets for that small place. On the other hand, the lighting was good and they have good merchandise choices. I would have to think twice if I would go again. We stayed in the hotel or on local bars as much as we did in the gig. I just needed to get away from that cigarette smoke!! IT is bad for my health. It is sad that I had to choose between my favorite bands and my lungs, especially since I paid for the tickets to see my favorite bands.
