My 3 children have been there since birth and now I am being told to find a new practice. Which is impossible anyway, but especially difficult when your child is now going through a crisis and our only option is the ER. From there we worked with Dr. Carolyn Rogers. Dr. Rogers is such a delight. We found her by chance for my son's first surgical procedure 4 years ago, so it was a no brainer for us to go back to her again for his second. Dr. Rogers has this calm, open demeanor about her which is much needed when it comes to your child and any thing surgery related - she really gets that. I always feel like "we got this" when we are in her presence. Matter of fact, we feel this way whenever we are at this location as a whole. The staff is really client focused, from minimal wait times, to check ins and last but not least, smiling. Smiling goes a long way in this field and I appreciate that they tapped into that. I couldn't have had a better experience with Dr. Lavin. I called her (and actually talked to HER -…read morenot something you'd expect these days) a few weeks ago after finding her name on my insurance's website. At first, I didn't realize that she specializes in pediatrics, but she was happy to accept me as a patient, as I'm under 24yo. We discussed the vaccinations I needed for an upcoming trip and within a couple of days, her lovely assistant Linda called me to confirm all the details and have the vaccs ordered. Due to the winter storms, everything got backed up so Linda gave me a few recommendations for travel clinics. Meanwhile, as I dealt with that, Linda called to check in with me and make sure everything was going smoothly, which I greatly appreciated. Despite having the vaccinations elsewhere, Dr. Lavin still wanted to have me in for a physical and to discuss my travel plans. After a whole ordeal with getting the vaccinations yesterday, I called to say I wouldn't be able to make it to my 11am apt, but Dr. Lavin told me to come in whenever I could. The office was very easy to find - just a few blocks from Coolidge Corner in a large office building, on the third floor. I walked in and Linda and Dr. Lavin were incredibly happy to see me (even though I was at least 3 hours late!) After a few quick tests (height, weight, hearing) with Linda, I met with Dr. Lavin, discussed my medical history in detail, and had the physical. She took down every little detail and gave me some helpful suggestions based on my family's medical history. She explained that after years of working with a couple of local hospitals, she was tired of not having close relationships with her patients, which is why she decided to open her own practice. I wish there were more people/doctors like her out there! It's really refreshing to hear that with the state of medicine these days. I've really enjoyed the whole experience with Dr. Lavin and Linda and am very appreciative of everything they've helped me with in the last couple of weeks! I'll be back in a couple of months for bloodwork and will probably be upset when I become too old to be a patient anymore!

No one cares more about getting you in when something isn't quite right with your little person, and honestly, the quality of their practice is one of maybe two things that I haven't found since moving back to CA. Terrible Experience from start to finish - we won't ever be back…read more Middleborough Pediatrics has a cultural issue, they simply do not care about making you feel welcome, heard, advocated for, or part of co-creating a health plan for your child. Let me explain. 1. Outdated policies without consideration of economic / time consuming impact to patients. You have to print all your medical records & either hand deliver them, or mail them in before they'll consider scheduling an appointment with you. 2. Inconvenient Hours: The reason we chose Middleborough Pediatrics was because I was under the impression they had weekend office hours for sick visits, and evening appointments. For some reason, during a global pandemic, the practice has chosen to drastically reduce these hours to 8-5PM. When patients need care most, they've decided to cut back on available hours instead of maintaining them. 3. Misquoted car seat safety recommendations, incorrectly citing the American Academy of Pediatrics: When I was surprised to see that my son did not meet the 35 lb. weight limit for his rear facing car seat, Dr. Gross explained to me (very condescendingly) that according to AAP, children under 2 years of age should remain rear-facing. When I contested that I have read conflicting information, I was shut down by Dr. Gross who repeated, "Well, that's from the American Academy of Pediatrics", and then continued to recite outdated information. According to a 2018 update to the Car Seat Safety Regulations by the AAP, the most up-to-date information concludes that all infants and toddlers should ride in a rear-facing car safety seat as long as possible, until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by the seat's manufacturer. This means that it's important to know what the height and weight recommendations are for your rear-facing car seat, and to not make assumptions based on a child's age. Considering that over 80% of parents have car seats installed incorrectly, and that car accidents are the leading cause of death and injury among young children and infants - you would think Dr. Gross would be abreast on the most up-to-date car safety regulations, you would also think that he'd be interested in hearing what a parent thought was the correct information, so that we may have an informative conversation resulting in the overall safety of the patient, and first-time mother before him. 4. Outdated views on how to discipline children. Offered outdated, punitive suggestions when asked about age-appropriate tantrum behaviors. Dr. Gross asked if I had any concerns about my child's behavior. I explained that since returning to daycare - there have been instances of head-banging during emotional outbursts. The head-banging behavior has subsided over the past few months, most noticeably in parallel with our son's ability to know and say more words to express himself. Dr. Gross went on to explain to me that I should say, "If you're going to act like that I am going to leave you here by yourself" to my ONE year old child. When my mouth fell open beneath my mask, Dr. Gross went on to explain that when a child has a temper tantrum, parents need to ignore the behavior completely and only offer attention once the tantrum has stopped. Offered "time-outs" as a method to reduce unwanted behavior in a 17 month old child. I'm not a child behavior specialist - but neither is Dr. Gross. He should not be doling out inaccurate/outdated information and punitive child-rearing methods without doing some research. 5. Terrible bedside manner - Dr. Gross made a comment that the "only time it's okay to comment on a woman's weight is if she's lost it". When I disagreed, that no, it is NEVER okay to comment on a woman's weight, and explained that perhaps the weight loss is from a new medication, or diagnosis, or stress-related event - Dr. Gross cut me off and said, "MOVING ON!" and proceeded to ask me a gamut of unnecessary family-history related questions that I already answered in the mountain of paperwork they mailed to our home prior to our visit. The only positive during our visit was our interaction with the nurse. I wish I remembered her name, but she was excellent with my son. She was helpful when I arrived, I was stressed / answering a work call when we walked in, & she was really understanding about me being on my cell phone. I wish we could live just stayed with her the whole time. But overall, from the first phone call with this practice to the interaction with Dr. Gross, I am disheartened (but validated) to see that our experience has been echoed by other reviews on Google. I'd rather drive the 45 min north to see our old Pediatrician at Boston Children's.

The doctors are knowledgeable but good luck being scene by one. Even when you book with a doctor, they will then later change the appt to a PA, without notifying you. Next, many of the PAs and nurses have very little patience for children. I experienced (on separate occasions) my children being scolded by a PA because my children were taking too long to calm down when they were being seen at sick visits. Furthermore , on two separate occasions my child was diagnosed with a rash, when it was really a kidney infection. Completely unacceptable. It became very clear that since moving, they are under a great deal of pressure to keep within a specified amount of time for each appointment rather than taking the time necessary to figure out the problem. The final straw was when I asked if I could call and pay the co pay with my debit card when I got home, because I left my card in my other jacket. The woman said it would be an additional $10 fee for paying it after the appointment. Even if I paid it with in the hour. What??! That makes no sense to me. We had about 6 really terrible experiences with different providers before we decided to switch. Such a shame because they were so wonderful when they were PMG, and even before the expansion. We changed to a practice where we make an appointment with a doctor, then actually see the doctor, and the doctor takes whatever time necessary to listen to our concerns
