This is a very large law firm and for the actual owner to speak with me a few times showed me they're not just another law firm looking for their cut in your accident, etc. They earn their cut which isn't really much. They were always there to answer any questions I had. I love that if when you call and if your rep. is busy they make an appointment for you to speak with them at another specified time that works for you and them, which is great as they focus on you at that time and it's all yours. I was never interrupted or hurried off the phone; I never felt rushed. In fact Carla wouldn't get off the phone with me if I didn't understand something. She explains things to you in layman's terms. I'm sure she might have been annoyed with all my questions, etc., but she never quivered and always treated me professionally and with full compassion. WComp. is a lot of papers and it's tough to understand but Carla took that pile of papers and info and reduced them so I could breeze through and with confidence that she was working for my best interest. She also explained the WC procedures, law, and processes to me that I now understand. The laws for WC in NYS are terrible. They side with the employer which for those of us like me who've been left with life-long disabilities due to an accident at work is just deplorable. I believe WC is very unfair, has very little concern for the employee. They are too straight forward and it seems they treat us all alike when all our cases are very different. Carla and the Kenny Law Firm went to bat for me and did the best they could working with this unfair WC system that needs to be overhauled. I would have to agree with another reviewer that they don't treat us not people. You are assigned a paralegal and not an attorney. You don't even get assigned an attorney until the day of your hearing with the judge. Paralegal doesn't return calls and i did send her emails. She returned the emails sometimes that same day or days later. A person at Social security called them several times and could never get your paralegal on the phone. Docs was never send and checked in a timely matter. SSA doesn't wait until your firm is ready and this lawyer firm should know that. SsA will continue your case and make a determination with or without them. I had to gather all my paperwork and get my doctor to fill out forms and call ssa myself to make sure they got it and then call my doctor to tell them to fax it to them or the law firm. I felt like I was doing all the work and I shouldn't feel that way. Do yourself a favor it's not worth going to this firm and paying them for services that you feel like your doing yourself. Get a law firm that cares and that you actually can speak with a lawyer through our case. You should be able to trust your lawyer or law firm cuz I never spoken or meet my lawyer but that paralegal. He was absolutely TERRIBLE about getting back to me either by phone or email. Id say he returned my call maybe 1 in 20 times. Pat F handled most of the calls and emails. She was great, always returned calls and emails but didnt always know answers so it was necessary to talk to Marcello at times. He refused to get back to me after multiple messages and emails. We had our closing a few weeks ago and there were some loose ends I needed to finish up. I emailed him last week and as always, he never replied. So today I called and talked to Mr Bluestein and explained to him the situation and asked him why, if Marcello took on my case, he never called me back. The only answers I ever got from anyone was that he was really too busy to get back to me...or sick .....or on vacation. After my call with Mr B, Marcello FINALLY did email me back and basically told me to take my business elsewhere....this after I spent close to $10,000.00 with this firm. If a lawyer doesnt have the time to get back to his clients, he should not take that client on. Do not use Marcello if you want things done in a timely matter or if you want to get calls returned to you. He is not the man for the job.
