They do the usual supply of sandwiches, paninis, pastys, etc and buns and cream cakes. They also do a different supply of prepacked buns and cakes and breads and sandwiches. This bakers makes a big difference to greggs which does get boring after a while so i like a change. The staff arent the friendliest but they do get busy so you can forgive them that. The place is a bit dearer than greggs but for a change they are well worth it. They seem to be more traditional in their recipes too. The place is lovely and clean too. You even get some people pushing in the line just to get their food first. This is a problem as sometimes pasties run out and people who push in get them before you and leave you with none! Service of the staff here is good as they give your food here straight away. I remember one staff worker once taking a ten pound note of me and gave me wrong change. She thought I had gave her a fiver and this led to a row and in the end it took the manager to sort the problem out. Greggs are cheaper than their rivals Hampsons so go to Greggs for bakery food!

For those people who also like a treat, they sell fresh cream cakes, doughnuts, biscuits and other cakes. They also sell an extensive range of bread and rolls. It is perfect to get something if you are on the run and need a quick cheap meal. The staff are courteous and friendly, although the queues can get a little big at lunchtimes. You sometimes have to time it right, because if you go to early the hot pies might not be ready. After 11 am they seem to have a good supply of everything. I would definitely recommend this shop.

My favourite bit about this shop though is the staff. They are happy-go-lucky and friendly, which is more than I can say of the other Greggs stores that I have been in. The last time I wandered past the shop was empty and the girls behind the counter were having some kind of dance off, and when they noticed that I had spotted them, creased up in laughter. Joy and cakes in Chapel Allerton! Makes it that little bit sweeter when you pop in for a bite.

They will sell their bead as loafs and bread cakes too. They have a very tempting display of buns and cream cakes too. Some items like cookies and flapjacks are available in multi-packs. They bake on site and make their own sandwiches through out the day so apart form the very height of the lunch time rush, there will always be a good, fresh choice including warm from the oven sausage rolls and steak bakes. When there is a long queue, you can find your self waiting outside (because of the size of the shop), so you can't see the fridge and displays till you get in and are served, which can be a bit of a pain if you don't know what you want!.

That said, its one of the very few places in Ripon that you can get a pushchair into and sit and have a cup of something to take the edge off after shopping etc. The staff are generally friendly and the store clean and tidy - I have found it a pain getting the buggy up the three steps into the seating area though.
