I thought that i had written a review for Molly's before but cant see it so here goes…read more Molly's is a proper old fashioned type cafe serving all manner of cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, lunches etc. It has parking at the rear (although you can usually get parked somewhere on The Green) and has about 8 or 9 tables for 4 people. It gets extremely busy at lunchtimes - to be expected because of its quality reputation. The food is really good, well cooked and a fair price. The staff are incredibly happy and chatty and cant do enough to help. Oh and proper MUGS of tea. Win. They also do free delivery within 3 miles for orders of £8 which im guessing is quite popular with the local offices as im always seeing the Molly's vans round and about. Ive knocked one star off (i wish i could just take off half a star...) because their website is really quite rubbish. I wanted to link to it to show you the menu (as i was too busy scoffing my food and reading the paper to take loads of photos for you) but there are no menus, no photos nothing. I picked up some focaccia, which was glorious, and also some of their lunch offering which was a decent portion for the price. It's situated on a busy main road (check!), there's a pub nearby (check!), there is a plumbers merchant and heating supply shop used all-day, every-day by tradesmen (check) and there is an industrial estate yards away (check!) and, finally, the cafe opens very early and shuts up shop mid-afternoon (check). All of this ought to tell you that if the Golden Coin offered substandard food in stingy portions for high prices, it would have been found out long ago. The opposite is the case. This is a classic British cafe doing what classic British cafes do best: Hearty food, brilliant tea, and no messing about. I was recommended this place by some of the fine people on Twitter. Their enthusiasm for the place meant I had to give it a go. It's a small shop in a group of shops on a residential road in suburban Bournville. There's no uniforms, just people that obviously care about their products and produce. That definitely included their breakfasts. Perfectly cooked bacon, (2 slices, not one as advertised), 2 sausages, a spot on golden yolked egg, a choice of plum or fresh tomatoes, great black pudding, (an extra), baked beans, (served in a separate dish), a good portion of fresh mushrooms and hand cut, crusty bread - as far as I'm concerned, a MUST for a quality breakfast - which this absolutely was.
