Although I live in Hyde Park, it has been worth the 40-minute drive to travel to his office. I was referred to Dr. Chen after having had some bad expeiences with local dental offices. Not only is Dr. Chen honest, but he has proven to be the most competent and affordable dental professional I have relied on since moving to Chicago from my old home in New York City some forty years ago. I highly recommend him and his friendly, capable staff.

After many, many years of not having any cavities, a couple of old fillings needed to be replaced, and there were the beginnings of some new, small cavities. Overall, she worked on five teeth over two visits. Never fun to have any dentist work on my teeth, but Dr. Guerrero and her team are very professional and welcoming. Dr. Guerrero also gave me a follow up phone call a few weeks after the work to check in with me. Her office is also very nice with accommodations for the clients such as letting you select the music played in your area. One service in particular that was very helpful is that she photographed my teeth and was able to show me on her wall screen the tooth that needed work, what it looked like after she removed the old fillings, and what the tooth looked like after she was done. It was so helpful and comforting to see what the dentist was doing. Perhaps that is standard these days since I have not had cavities in a while, but I have had other work and a camera was never used. What I find most enjoyable, though, is how she works with her staff. While she worked on my teeth, she was giving instructions and guidance to her assistants while also talking about their kids, schools, and favorite food dishes. It was a nice blend of professionalism and the personal, and sort of made me feel like part of the office family. I also really like that Dr. Guerrero and her staff are bi-lingual and sometimes speak Spanish with each other when working on your teeth. And it is often the case that you will hear Juan Gabriel, Marco Antonio Solis, and other popular Latin American singers on their sound system. All in all, I highly, highly recommend anyone looking for a dentist. An outstanding dentist and staff who create a welcoming experience for their clients.

She spent the time to show me the x-rays and detailed her areas of concern. A week after my cleaning, a crown installed by my previous dentist broke off while eating a sandwich. I called kiss dental and less than 60 minutes after it becoming dislodged it was reinstalled. They took me on very short notice, and addressed the issue right away. This was literally 30 minutes before they closed on a Friday! I was very impressed at them taking me in so quickly. Additionally, both the hygienist and dentist are very nice. They make good conversation and seem like very skilled professionals.

After that, I got a recommendation from a friend (whose father and father-in-law were both dentists) to check out Dr. Dave McWhinnie at Smiles of Skokie. I am so glad that I went here. The office staff and hygienists were all super friendly. After visiting way too many sketchy dentist offices in strip malls around Chicago, their office and facilities were a breath of fresh air. New equipment, bright exam rooms and nice decorations. Dr. Dave is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and really does talk you through each step of the exam and appointment. He wants to make sure you don't feel any pain at all. I had one dentist who attempted to numb me with anesthetic 3 different times, and I could still feel the drill.
