You're literally sipping wine or cocktails next to an ancient ruin. Such is the glory of Roma. For this incredibly unique feature alone, it's a five star experience as far as I'm concerned, but add in the very friendly service, aperitivo/snacky offerings (the complimentary potato chips are vegan, at least, but not many options for us otherwise), a nice variety of cocktails and wines by the glass at reasonable prices and Anima Mundi has become a favorite on our visits to Rome. Always check hours because they are as of this writing open Thurs-Sunday only and one of those days recently they were closed for a film production.

It is quite busy and full of energy. We loved the location. It also had heaters outside which was nice. There food was okay. The bruschetta was really big and could be shared. It wasn't as crunchy as I would like. The flavors were really good. The rice balls were okay. I had better elsewhere. The pasta fagilio tasted amazing. The flavors were great and it was seasoned well. The pasta aglio e olio was spicy but the spice over powered the rest of the dish. I didn't really care for it. The service was good. I don't think I would come back to this restaurant but I would try a different one in the vicinity.

Perfect al dente pasta with a rich sauce. Hubby had the Diablo pizza which was delicious and had a crispy crust. Plenty of meat toppings. Very happy indeed. I'd suggest a stop in! Oh and price wise..... including a litre of beer (no judging lol) everything came to €88 which for the area I think was fair.

Another thing that I really like about this place is that people don't smoke inside. There are other speakeasies around town that allow smoking, and I honestly can't be there more than 1 hour.
