This year round my insurance of just home alone was bumped up by $200+ and after 3-4 calls and being told that someone will look into it and call back, no calls after probably 2 weeks. My homeowners had more than doubled this past year and I was never emailed or sent anything from the insurance company directly. When I followed up with Norma (2 months apparently after the policy was renewed and I only found out from the wild increase in our mortgage) they said the company did send them something but should have sent me something as well. Well, they didn't and insurance wouldn't talk to me directly since I had an agent. Norma said she would look into other companies but that it would be hard because we had a claim this past year. Although I called right before the Fourth of July and I knew there would be a delay from the holiday, it still took over a week for her to get back to me and it was only after I called the office three times. She said she couldn't find any better quotes. So I had obviously called some places and found a company offering the same coverage for half the price. When I called the cancel she seemed shocked. Three of the four companies I called were offering lower quotes so I have no idea what Norma was doing. I've never used an agent before - was recommended to Mike. He made things easy when I signed up. I didn't know he had retired and had a miserable futile time when calling back with new workers. Avoid this agency -- or just get quotes on your own
