We have been with Hayes Insurance for a little over ten years. We met with Steve Hayes after we…read moremoved to Michigan from Ohio and were trying to find quality home insurance at a competitive rate. Steve was able to provide that for us. At first, I did not give Hayes our auto insurance as I could get better rates by keeping our auto and home insurance at separate companies. Steve was always understanding of my position and continued to look for policies to bring the rest of my business to Hayes. A few years later the numbers made sense and we moved all our insurance policies to Hayes. Since we have been with Hayes, we did unfortunately lose my wife's wedding ring. Though we were quite sick over the loss of the ring, Steve made the replacement process quite painless. Thankfully, we had purchased a rider on our home policy to cover the ring and it was replaced without a large increase to our premium. I highlight this incident to stress to anyone reading this review that insurance quality is just as important as price. This incident highlighted the quality of the coverage we receive from Hayes Insurance. In the end I am thankful I was able to find Hayes Insurance and Steve in particular. He understands where we are at in life and has been able to provide great counsel over the years to ensure that we are properly protected. Terrible service if you have a claim. They don't return calls and their adjusters have no idea how…read morea a house is put together, so they will miss things that are important. They reference questionable contractors who take short cuts, or just never show up. Insurance is expensive. Go elsewhere if you actually want protection. We tried to work with them, but they don't care. It's not just us, they have a reputation for this. I heard from someone else recently who had a fire and they didn't remove burned wood, just covered it. Seriously?

I'll start out this review by admitting that I have no personal relationship with this agency. My…read morefather passed away in 2023 necessitating a review of our parents estate. In or around 2015, Eric Wiedyk with the Taylor Agency, placed two annuity policies for my parents with Gleaner Life Insurance Society. The policies paid a guaranteed 1% interest over their term. Annuties typically provide a guaranteed income/cash flow and life insurance component, but they are exceptionally high in insurance premium and commission costs. You can do your own research but they are not typically a viable financial product for most. In our case, my parents were 80 and 78 at the time. They had no business taking out annuities. The difference in return on investment was material; 8-10% that the financial markets would bear versus 1% paid by these policies. We are in the midst of securing all records associated with the placing of these policies and will pursue all legal avenues available to us. I would strongly encourage anyone to speak with a CPA or attorney before agreeing to and securing any financial product but especially an annuity. Given our experience through this agency, I would strongly encourage anyone to look at other alternatives.
