All of the kinder teachers are amazing and every grade school teacher we've had so far has been fantastic! Every single staff member knows my kids names and greets them most of them I've never met in my life even 5th and 6th grade teachers, really great school! As for the pizza, it's literally the same in every school ever in the history of school pizza still as weirdly gross and good as I remember 25 years ago the office ladies are great, the yard supervisors are all amazingly sweet the principal and vice principal are super nice! The vice principal has a very loving by bubbling personality. My son works with mrs Sophie often and I really like her she's kind and really helpful with teaching the kids how to regulate emotions and teaching calming skills.

The worse Elementary school in the district is Vernon E Greer. The Principal has parent calls screened by her secretary. They have children lie that there is no bullying going on at the school. Children are told is they go to the office and are in trouble to say they are helping for the day doing paperwork. Principal doesn't care about the kids she only cares that all kids are there to get paid for each one. Greer has the worse bullying and disrespectful yard duties that are rude to children when they are there to protect them. Listening to my children and other children that attend the school and say the things that happen on play ground makes you wonder where the adults are. The only good that comes from that school Mr. Seagraves, Ms. Oliveria and MS. Pletcher. The nurse and office staff talk about families and other children in the open where other families and children are abler to hear the problems and have no care in the world about it. Ever since I took my kids out of this school there grades are 100% better they have made it on the principal honor roll at Archoe every time. I have heard from other parents that have removed there kids from this school how much better they are doing. The fruit cocktail is just thrown on tray not in a little cup or bowl just on tray. the pizza they give the kids looks like a soggy piece of cardboard.

Back then the EGSD had higher ratings than in Galt, which was part of the reasons of moving. All the fun activities of field trips to Sutter's Fort, and Monterey Bay Aquarium... But from what I can see, its all good. She starts at noon and when we get here the children are playing outside. They look to be second to fourth graders. They have staff position in section of the playground watching the children.They have to the side a lil playground for the preschoolers and that's where they play. The classroom is a pretty decent size. They have the little tables on one side of the room near the door as you enter with little cubbies for the kids coats and papers to take home. A big area where they read stories. And to the back the sinks and cabinets for supplies. The teachers seem to be really nice. There is always at least three of them in the classroom. I like that Ms Kathleen who is the head teacher have the children to wash their hands when they come in the classroom. Some of the parents where whispering that they thought it was strange, but me I told them I think its a wonderful habit to teach children. My baby knows that's a given in our house! They do a lot of singing, Alyssa has learned a lot of songs since she started. She's writing more, knows how to spell her name. The other children just loves on her but Alyssa being an only child she has her moments.. My grand baby says she likes it a lot and as long as she does I think that that's all that really matters.

As parent,today I had encounter the rudest thing out off all school district here at this school.As…read moreI was helping my daughter getting her breakfast and headed towards the counter where the cafeteria server was standing;She rolled her eyes at me telling me "She needs to get a scoop of fruits,at least" and with that being said,i calmly turned around not saying a word and even though I was extremely angry with what she just did to us;I did what she was demanded.My daughter always gets fruits every morning and it's just only today she didn't want it besides eating her cereal,I don't see why would it be such a big deal for a worker there to be rolling their eyes.I strongly feel disrespected!Also above all of that when I came to sat my daughter on the table with the rest of the kids,I looked around and most of these kids including her cousin who was sitting next to her didn't have a single scoop of fruit on their plate!Just wow..I also spoke to the principal and hope she takes this as consideration and tell "LINDA" something or next time I will be the one telling her myself!

This is a 2 day per week program. It is fine if you actually want a homeschool with some extra…read moresupport. But, if you struggle teaching your child or do not have the time. This would not be the best school for you. The staff is very nice and professional. And many of them take extra time to work with families who need it. But, the #1 problem with this school is it's location. They are in a shopping complex that includes a smoke shop. This actually brings consumers into the parking lot of the school. Some of the those people are not the type of people you would want near your child at all! The other problem with the school location is that there is limited space for school events. And the outdoor space they have, is a run down old preschooler playground. The school has been saying they want to move for years and complain about the leasing costs. But, many of us are very fed up with how slow the process has been. Another issue with the school is the limited electives & they do not teach social studies. Last science class can be very limited. This year seems to be the leanest schedule in years. The reason this is an issue is that your child goes 2 days per week usually 1/2 days. Yet they take all the funds and you are not allowed any money to contribute to supplementing their classes or materials. As your child gets older there is more opportunities in H.S. I think. But, at the same time, if you want to get them prepared to go to public H.S. for example. Going to classes 2 days a week is not going to help. I think the name should be Charter/Homeschool, because you have them home a lot more than a normal Charter School. The very last 2 things were just a 1st that some of us parents were disappointed with. 1st they had very few field trips. And the reason was that parents were not participating or signing their kids up. While I believe some families actually chose not to attend. I believe having multiple emails sent out full of the information about the trip would be a huge gain. Parents work, take care of other children, plus they are trying to homeschool their own child 3+ days per week. Which is a lot on someone's plate! Having save the dates or any school activity could have a link to share to your calendar. So you could set your own reminders... Just a suggestion... Overall, the concept of smaller classes and a smaller school is really nice. I do believe my child has made gains at the school. I would love to add more stars, but until they change locations and allow 7th-12th graders to participate in a 4 to 5 day let week schedule. I do not see a huge benefit over using a homeschool charter that allows you to sign them up for vendors classes. Such as mad science, drama, dance, & others... As long as they have a good support teacher. I have tried public school, homeschool, and H.P. charter which I guess you can call it a hybrid. It vas been a good experience, but there needs to be even more options out there. And hopefully we can find a better. I do encourage you to check the school out for yourself. It might be a great fit for your family! :-)
