Parking did not open on time for the last Wwe event. When the gates did finally open they had one elderly man taking payments at the gate. They literally came outside and told everyone they were opening all doors but when we got inside they only had 2 lines open which irritated people alot. They need someone outside when the mines start forming to ensure lol aren't skipping line. I called out 2 people for walking up acting as if they were trying to stand in the shade. Almost got into an altercation with another guy I had to call out for trying the same thing. If you had personnel out there this wouldn't be a problem and shouldn't be left to guests to handle. read more

Went for the monster truck show and everything was great! Parking was the biggest drawback but that's to be expected at any event center. I do wish they had more workers directing the traffic throughout the parking lot. It may have made for easier and faster exit. I attended the Mary J. Blige concert at the Greensboro Coliseum/First Horizon with a VIP Meet & Greet package that included meeting Ne-Yo, taking a picture with him, and seeing performances by Mario and Mary J. Blige. Unfortunately, the experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. Disorganized & Unprofessional VIP Experience From the moment we arrived, chaos ensued. We received an excessive number of emails leading up to the event, yet none provided a clear itinerary. We were told to arrive at 4:00 PM, but we weren't allowed in until well after 5:00 PM. VIP guests were forced to walk around the massive coliseum aimlessly in the cold, as staff provided conflicting directions. For those wearing heels, this was especially frustrating. I was fortunate to have worn flats, but the lack of organization was unacceptable. Once inside, things didn't improve. The Greensboro Coliseum staff was unprofessional and completely unprepared. They struggled to scan tickets, leaving us standing around clueless. The Meet & Greet, which was supposed to start around 4:30-4:45 PM, didn't happen until after 6:00 PM. And when it finally did, it was rushed and impersonal. The Performances The only highlight of the night was Ne-Yo, he was professional, kind, and put on an incredible show. His energy and stage presence were unmatched, and he treated the audience with respect and appreciation. Mario and Mary J. Blige, on the other hand, were a disappointment. * Mary J. Blige's performance was lackluster at best. After we waited over an hour for her set to be prepared, she only performed for about an hour and ten minutes. * She barely danced, her backup dancers put in more effort than she did. * She spent an excessive amount of time backstage changing outfits, and when she did appear, she often lip-synced or relied on the audience to sing her songs. * The overall energy of her performance was lazy and uninspired. She didn't engage with the crowd the way a true headliner should. * She looked tired and unprepared, and her red wig was awful, cheap-looking and unflattering. * To make matters worse, she skipped her newer songs and failed to deliver the powerhouse performance fans expected. Overall Verdict This was my second time seeing Mary J. Blige live, and it will absolutely be my last. It was a waste of money, time, and energy. I feel completely scammed by this so-called "VIP" experience. The only saving grace of the night was Ne-Yo, who actually delivered. I strongly do not recommend spending your money on Mary J. Blige's tour. If she can't give a solid performance at her first stop, she certainly isn't worth the price tag anywhere else. Save your money. Ne-Yo was the only real talent that night. read more

I won tickets to the Keyshia Cole concert which took place here. The staff is always nice and facilities are clean. One of the acts didn't attend which was disappointing. The show started on time and the acoustics were good. Some of the best acts in town come here so I'll be back. read more

I've attended both a food sampling event and a concert here. In terms of the concert, It's a small venue and the seats are comfortable. I was in the extremely high-up seats (second to last row) and still had a great view. I'd caution those afraid of heights from sitting up there though. It was quite steep. The acoustics weren't perfect. It seemed like they amped up the volume for one of the openers and the main act to compensate. However, the venue was well staffed and I was able to enjoy the concert without any issues. Drinks and parking were pricey, but that's to be expected. The food sampling event was in one of their large event spaces. The event went pretty well. The lines were backed up because they oversold access, but that wasn't the venue's fault. Overall, this venue is solid, but has room for improvement. read more

First time attending a concert at Piedmont Hall. Overall it was a good experience, though they were about 30 minutes late to open the doors. The venue was much bigger than I had expected and one of the security guards told me its capacity is 3000 people. Biggest complaint is their over inflated prices on beer ($13) and even ($4) for water. You'll definitely want to do some pre gaming before going in. The space itself is nice, but be prepared to stand, seating is VIP only. I'd go back to see another show here if the right band comes through read more

We went to the Greensboro Coliseum/Complex last weekend for the Sleep Token concert and had a very interesting experience. I was choosing between three and four stars, and unfortunately had to go with three. I'll explain why. Parking wasn't bad as we arrived 1.5 hours before the doors open (or were supposed to), and we had pit seats. Due to this, although we had tickets, everyone with floor tickets had to wait in line for wristbands, understandably. We were sitting in the hot sun in the middle of a parking lot for about an hour, and then we find out that doors were now going to be opened at 7:30. Nobody notified our group of this (at least not our section), we were made aware by social media and others by us that had friends waiting in a different section. After waiting 2.5 hours, we eventually were able to get in our line, to another line, which we then waited another 30+ minutes. We waiting outside in line a total of three hours, which was unacceptable. I do understand things happen; I believe something happened with the opening band, but I am not positive. That being said there is no reason why they could not have let us in their air conditioning, and to let use the bathrooms and get drinks and food. Even when they told us they were going to let us in for that despite not being able to go to our seats yet, we still waited another 45 minutes after they told us so. There are many food and drink options on the second level. The only options on the first level where the standing option was bathrooms/beer. All staff (except one lady) was incredibly friendly and helpful. I needed a minute to take a break and just chill (literally, a MINUTE), and I even said "hi" to her. With an attitude she said "hi" back like I was disturbing her peace and then almost instantly asked rudely why I was there. I told her I got warm and just needed a minute, but I'll return to my area right away and with an attitude she responded "yeah, my boss is right there so you're gonna have to do that." Interesting enough, I did that two or three times prior (not in anyone's way), and the other attendant not only asked if I was okay but offered me earplugs and everything. It's not that difficult to be kind. Apparently, for some it is. While I was in the pit, another tenant approached me when I was going next to the area behind the crowd and questioned me awkwardly like I had brought my own alcohol in. I had to explain to him with VERY loud music in the background that no sir, this is what I purchased from upstairs, and I even proved to him with the brand of wine. This was odd but then he apologized and said it must be something new that they're serving. Sir, I am 38 years old, I'm not bringing my own wine into an events venue. Sleep Token put on an AMAZING & very special show and it sounded stellar. The sound, base, all of it. I like that there was enough room in the pit to stand behind the crowd if you felt too crowded, and even a space to sit on some type of equipment for the seats barrier. Would I go back to this venue? Yes, I would. It's a cozy venue, clean, and not too big. I feel they allowed the perfect amount of people in the pit without it being TOO crowded. However, they should have a plan and become a bit more organized when hiccups occur. Standing outside in the hot sun for 3+ after paying that amount for tickets? Not okay. They could have done things differently (as a venue) to make paying customers more comfortable. read more

When paying, some of the people told us to be sure and give them a tip. Seriously? This was a two-star defuction. 2. Generally, when going from a hall area around the perimeter to the seats, it's just a big hallway. Here, we had to funnel into a small set of 90-degree turns big enough for just one, two pdeduction. This coliseum cannot accommodate big crowds. We were in line for parking almost 2 hours and eventually got out of line to park in a neighborhood. We missed four acts during the Katt Williams show. If we had stayed in line any longer, we would ve missed the show as a whole. The seating was so uncomfortable and tight. Never again Greensboro. Good facilities, staff were all nice. The parking situation was okay. Merchandise and foods were overpriced as typical for shows anymore. The main complaint is inside the bathrooms most the doors didn't lock appropriately and facilities were dated for sure. Tiny restroom stalls and the handicap stall didn't lock at all and you couldn't reach the door to hold it shut yourself, so the handicap stall was fairly useless. As is the new normal there is no space whatsoever between rows so if someone in the middle needs out the entire row would have to stand up and move to let them out. Not really out of the ordinary for venues these days, but there was no where to sit drinks or anything and with multiple kids that's a bit aggravating. read more

The Concert was so nice. I amazed myself, I knew songs from all of the groups, who were awesome. To see Ron Isley and his brother Ernest on stage really made my night.. I cannot even begin to express to you HOW BAD this experience was. I drove from RVA to see sleep token and purchased these tickets back in March. 6 months before the event even happened. There was not a single staff member directing people to which line is which. There was the merch line, beer line and GA line. I stood in the merch line for 25 minutes ( not wanting merch) because it was so snaked around the main gate area that it seemed like that would be the place to line up for gate entrance... WRONG. It was for merch. Keep in mind I was here at 4:30 way before gates even were supposed to open. By the time i realized that I was in the wrong line the once shorter line was now wrapped around the entire aquatics center of the facility. I am also disabled with a horrible back disease and the gate opening time was pushed back by an hour and a half... standing for 2 planned hours is very hard on me let alone an additional 4. I did not complain once while having to wait but I am incredibly disappointed in how this was handled. And the fact that my favorite song didn't even get to be sang because of this delay with getting people inside for the concert. Inside was also INCREDIBLY dangerous with how steep the seats are not to mention the flashing lights while also trying to get to your seats because the opener was already almost done by the time we finally got in. I have been to MANY concerts in my life around the country and this was the worst event center I've been to. This rating is 100% for the center and NOT the band. The band was incredible. I definitely won't be returning to this event center for any future events. My first and my last. Get your Sh*t together!! If I could give a negative rating I would. read more

I mailed in a request along with payment in March for a RV camping spot. I have never received any type of communication from the coliseum. I didn't purchase a ticket for the event since I didn't know if I had a camping spot. Piedmont Hall is much smoother and better venue than the main coliseum. I do recommend going early for decent parking. Also call in advance and reserve ADA seating or you'll have to sit behind everyone with a reserved seat. I'm convinced that people reserve the entire row because it's elevated even when they have no physical limitations. All seats in the front were reserved with the same name and only three people showed. The people in the front were standing and dancing and then they would go to the mosh pit and surf. Doubtful they truly needed the seating except it's a prime location now that the reserved VIP lounge area doesn't have chairs. Apparently someone threw a chair so the VIP area is standing only and you have a side view whereas the ADA is elevated in the center. They're on both sides of the sound station. They do sell food; pizza, hot dogs, and wings. Friendly staff and super clean venue. Cleanest bathroom I've been in. It's got a great sound system as well. read more

We went for the Hot Wheels Monster Truck Show and it was awesome. I wasn't sure if my kids would like it but they loved it, we will definitely go again. I was not prepared for how loud it was so next time my kids will have ear muffs. I didn't know they would have dirt bikes as well but seeing them do their tricks was awesome as well. The coliseum itself was nice and clean even down to the bathrooms. The food and drink prices could be cheaper but I definitely understand it's about the convenience. I've been to a variety of events at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex and I think the facilities are OK. The complex consists of eight separate venues. I've only been in the coliseum and special events center portions, but there are other venues like a 7,000-seat amphitheater and a 2,500-seat aquatic center. Off the top of my head, I've been to the Greensboro Coliseum for college basketball games, figure skating championships, and Monster Jam (monster truck rally). I went to the special events center for a college fair. The most memorable basketball game I attended here was Wake Forest's 76-59 victory over Cal in the 2000 NIT Elite Eight. There was a conflict at the Joel that night (March 24, 2000), so the Deacs had to play in Greensboro. I remember Monster Jam blowing my ears out. I saw Big Foot, Grave Digger, and the underrated Nitemare among other monster trucks. The Greensboro Coliseum is known for basketball. It's home to the UNC Greensboro men's basketball team and it's hosted the ACC men's basketball tournament 26 times (the ACC was founded in Greensboro). The ACC Tournament is scheduled to return to Greensboro for the 27th time in 2020. An ACC museum opened at the complex in 2011. In addition to the ACC tourney, the coliseum has hosted many NCAA tournament games including the 1974 Final Four. It's also served as home to the NBA G League's Greensboro Swarm since the team's inception in 2016. The coliseum has a seating capacity of 23,500. It originally opened much smaller than that (7,100 seats) in 1959, but has undergone numerous renovations and expansions over the years. The coliseum is functional, but not as nice nor as modern-looking as many of the newer and sleeker basketball arenas around the country. It serves its purpose though. read more

Where do I start? I have been going to events at the coliseum since I could walk. Multiple circus trips, countless concerts, American Idol auditions, and I even graduated high school there. It's been about 6 months since we went to an event and I am pretty appalled at some of the changes. Parking this trip was $25. I'm sorry but there is zero reason it should cost $25 to park your car at the coliseum. It was $10 last time, and the Coliseum once claimed that parking would always be free. Once inside, we visited the merchandise table for the concert we were at. The lady who handed me a tshirt actually said "tips are appreciated." FOR WHAT? You handed me a shirt. I paid $40 for the shirt, and I paid $100 for the concert. I'm not tipping you. After getting to our seats, my son wanted water. I went to purchase bottles of water, and they tried to take my caps! Please read that again. THEY ARE TAKING ALL OF THE CAPS TO THE BOTTLES NOW. I argued with them as my son is special needs and will not be able to go the evening without spilling the over priced bottle of water. Apparently they believe if the caps are on, we might throw them at artists so they have been deemed weapons. No, I'm not joking. These people also asked me to tip them. The only saving grace for this evening was the staff who helped relocate us due to a vision obstruction. They offered a sensory bag to my son as he is autistic and put us in much better seating. You once could go find better seats at an event on your own. That's a no now. The seat police will not allow it. I'm beyond disappointed at the way this event was run. Thank god the concert was good and the kids left happy. I will not be buying tickets to any event here again anytime soon. read more

I've been to this venue several times -- for an ice skating tournament, NCAA regionals, a concert, and most recently for the ACC men's basketball tournament. I appreciate the dining/drink options, clean restrooms, plenty of staff, and general efficiency in getting people in -- although everyone is funneled through one main entrance, which was backed up on the last night of the tournament. There's an ACC museum on site but I didn't go in since they were having private events when I walked by. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to grab a bite before or after your event. Tip: you don't have to pay the exorbitant prices for parking. I always park legally on nearby side streets and never have had a problem getting in and out. read more

We seen Chris Stapleton in October and had a blast! This was my first time here and it is a nice size complex inside and out. I loved how much variety of food and drink options there were spread out throughout the coliseum. The only drawback I felt was how the seats were set. When we were walking up (our seats were at the top) it didn't seem so bad but as soon we stood up to look out or walk down the stairs it felt like we were just going to fall, it felt so unsteady and scary like we were on the edge. If you're afraid of heights I highly suggest getting seats closer to the floor. It's still a great time no matter what, Chris Stapleton was a blast and the environment of the stadium was perfect! This venue was easy to access but I was not happy to have to pay $20 for parking. There were several events happening at the same time. No big deal. But inside it was very hot at times and the bathrooms didn't have tissue. The paper town rack was broken. The sitting was so very cramped that my knees were hurting. I had to go out into the isle everytime someone needed to get up because there was zero space for them to squeeze by. Maybe instead of paying $100 per seat, I should have gotten the $200 seats on the floor. But at least the venue is handicap accessible. read more

Went to the for KING and COUNTRY concert on December 11th. ADA patrons and seating was a JOKE. Since the bands was late setting up, the staff had NO backup plans for people in wheelchairs to watch the Q&A that was included. No one seemed to care and it took multiple demands to get a section on the floor so we could actually watch it. Then I was told that ADA seats were moved to the back instead of the the side. Fortunately, I didn't have ADA Seating because I wanted to be close to the stage. The management and staff need training on what the ADA Access means before they will be hit with a lawsuit that they will lose. I would give this venue 4.5. I went lastnight for the first time to see a concert. The parking made me very happy because we literally drove right out after the show. How does that happen after a concert? It was $20 to park. There is a pretty long uphill walk to the Coliseum and then it's a giant circle inside. I cannot believe how cheap the restaurants were for stadium food. The seats were very comfortable and the place overall was very clean. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because of the bathrooms and the lack of cleanliness and double side way to get in. There wasn't much consideration when designing that way. The complex itself is quite bug and definitely could use some clearer wayfinding as I had no idea where to go the first time I arrived for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. That being said, everything looks and feels very new! The seats were pretty comfy for essentially sitting in one spot for hours. There are definitely bad seats, but I think you can get pretty far back and still have a good view. The food options are pretty limited and there's no real better options externally without driving a half mile or so, so either fill up before arriving or make plans for when you leave. What IS nice is the rideshare pick-up/drop-off spot as there's an entire driveway dedicated to it and I haven't seen enough places in the country actually do this well. read more
