The Greenridge agents, Tom Monette and Alyssa Wiederhoeft, recently sold two houses for Wendy and me in Holton Michigan. We have used Tom in the past and the results were good. He does price to sell so you must realize that if you decide to list with him. On the last house we sold, Tom decided to let his partner to basically handle the entire process. This was unexpected because he always handled our listings and we chose him.
Well, over the years we have had many real estate transactions and we agree that this turned out to be the worst real estate experience either of us have ever had. The many mistakes, questionable inspection processes, having to constantly redo forms, and last minute obstacles due to those mistakes that we had to hurry up and fix was only part of the problem. Tom was always competent, even keeled, respectful, and approached everything in a diplomatic fashion. That was why we used him. Alyssa was the opposite of that, which made everything even more unpleasant and unnecessarily frustrating.
In hindsight, we should have requested to continue dealing with Tom early on or pulled the plug on the whole deal. It just wasn't worth the hassle. Two stars is generous and reflects our previous experiences with Tom.
