If I could leave -5 stars I would. My experience with John Bodien was almost to horrible to believe. After my mothers sudden death in May , I was referred to Mr Bodien by Carrier Law to sell my fathers condo. As a result of the high recommendation from Carrier law, I also decided to use Mr. Bodien to help me find a home for myself and my father who requires 24 hour care. In a highly volatile, and fast moving market we look at numerous homes that were pretty bad. I had no experience in purchasing or selling real estate so I was relying completely on him to help during this most difficult situation. We found two houses on the same day that would work for our situation. The priority was possession for me because I needed to get my father out of the condo that he lived in with my mother, as being there was very upsetting for him. The first house that would work was definitely going to sell quickly. Mr Bodien never went over the contents of the offer when he rushed me into signing the offer on my iphone, in my car, at a gas station. My fault for trusting him as a professional. At the second house which was $40000 less, I expressed that I might want to pull the offer on the first one and purchase the second one as it was empty and we could move in immediately. He proceeded to point out every flaw, and push me towards the first house not once informing me that he gave the sellers 60 day possession after close, not the 30 days he told me when we were at the property. Which in my current situation was vital information. I followed his recommendation without him ever providing to me a complete explanation of what was in the offer on the first house, and went with the original offer. It wasn't until a week after, when I had sent the $10000 non refundable deposit that he gave them, that I found out about the 60 days after close possession. When I finally spoke to him about the matter, he said he would offer the sellers a financial incentive to vacate early which he did not do, and pay the first months payment because he did not put in a charge for occupancy. As a result of this deception, I am no able to operate my work from home business until we move which is financially devastating to me, my father is in great distress over the delay in getting out of the last home he shared with my mother who he was married to for 55 years. I can't read minds, so I have no way of knowing for certain if this deception was for the greater commission, or him trying to manipulate me to get me into the house he felt was better.
